Damn that’s a lot of characters

These are all characters that are more used to being support in comparison to being the main focus.
Holt, Guy, Rex, just look at them and they are side pieces that do well interacting across different storylines. They can be plugged in easy.
Now if its Hal, Bruce, Diana, etc, then I begin to worry.
Engineer is going to be the main focus as an Authority member later on, but for now she's in Clark's story.
I don't think Lex is the main antagonist here. I think involving him points to making Metropolis a character. The most recent i've seen a setting successful set up as a character for DC was Marais in the Swamp Thing series.
Wouldn't be surprised if the mayor or Daily Planet employees are announced next. Both Intergang and the 100 started in Metropolis. There should be more representation of how Metropolis politics and social climate works out there. They've done Gotham so much like its the only city riddled with lower tier criminals that can make a dent.
Update with Tess, I mean Eve and Jimmy.

Jesus, that Crisis trailer looks bad.
Looking forward to seeing how Superman: Legacy turns out. I feel like Gunn is leaning far too much into his love of Superman (1978), which...just seems a bit much.
-
@JulieYBM Maybe, but after the wet shit that was Man of Steel that set the tone for Superman in the DC movies, a return to the roots might be for the best.

The Donner film isn't even a return to roots, though. It's not even the original on-screen depiction of Superman, let alone reflective of the broader scope of the characters' history.

Not when DC literally adapted 78 into a comics series.
-
@Time-Control-Magician Oh, they did? When did that happen?
-
Started in 21 finished in 22
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_'78
They also did a Batman 89 miniseries
Edit: I forgot about the sequel series that’s supposed to be coming out in few days featuring Metallo.

Looks like there not going to be just cameos
https://screenrant.com/superman-legacy-cast-not-just-cameos-james-gunn/
-
Makes sense to me. It's not like the Guardian films had some suffocating number of cameos with multiple characters. Clark can still clearly be the lead character here lol.
-
It won’t be the same without Kevin Conroy, but would love to see this become reality someday.

-
Since it's Terry as the main Kevin Conroy isn't THAT necessary, but yes, it wouldn't be the same. If we didn't have Will Friedle it would be very weird.
But yeah, those pics are awesome. Makes you feel like that's the only way you could do a Batman Beyond movie.
-
King Shark looks great:
-
The series looks really good, so I'm hoping it's successsful enough to do more anime like it. Harley's design is amazing, though probably a major pain to animate.
-
I'm assuming that this will not be an origin film for the team, but rather a film for forming the new generation with Damian as the lead. As such, I think we'll probably get Nightwing, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy as the mentors from the prior generations of the team, and then Damian as the central character learning to play nicely with others, and younger heroes from his generation, like Ace or maybe even Irey (who has wonderful chemistry with Damian).
Either way, I'm holding out hope!
-
I just like the idea of them doing this when Titans corpse hasn’t even enter active decay much less bloat.
-
Yes please
-
I would love for Gillian and Robbie to play my girls together! :D
-
It's really about time we get a good Poison Ivy on the big screen. Such an underrated Batman villain - she was one of my favorites in the animated series. An extremist climate activist as a villain would be really topical as well and could bring up some interesting moral questions, if written well and with some nuance.
-
I think she's just hard to bring to live action. Always fabulous in animation, but all the plant stuff makes her one of Bats' more . . . "cartoony" villains. Kinda like Clayface. We saw what Batman and Robin did to her (ugh), could they make up for it now with better CGI?
One of my more favorite, recent depictions of Ivy are actually from DC Superhero Girls:
Which is, yes, a cartoon, and sadly no Bats and in high school, but she's a fun take on the character.
-
I’d love for more obscure villains to make it into a Batman movie! Give me Clayface, Lady Shiva and Hush, something new and original
I love the character Joker but he’s always in the Batman movies give me like four or even three movies without him and I’d be fine but we need a joker break
-
-
If Joaquin is the one singing that I demand he get a record deal right now. If not, someone tell me who is.
And it looks like Harley isn't his psychologist in this one.
-
Can’t wait to see people who don’t understand there relationship saying what a great couple they are
-
I would think people would be aware of their history but given how not knowing the history of a comic book character is a problem among non fans, casual fans, & hardcore fans who tend to complain about the first two ….
-
I hated the first movie, and this one is not looking any better...oof. This is going to be a rough storm to weather, I am definitely not a fan of The Joker.
-
What did you hate about it? I mean, it was obviously a very different take on the character, so you couldn't expect classic Jack Nicholson/Mark Hamill style.

I don't really care for The Joker in general, but the character—particularly in this setting—has the effect of appealing to some of the worst people ever, and I could sense that with the film. I think that the film misuses it's mental health allegory to try and be applicable to a more general lack of identity for your average cishet man, rather than focusing on the systemic issues that lead to the abuses that the mentally ill face, and speaking specifically to people who face those issues.
I'm also just not a fan of the manner in which female characters are used specifically for the self-gratification of a male character's arc and ego. The film doesn't even have the decency to really reflect on the manner in which women are used by men to give meaning to their lives and experiences, so in a lot of ways, the women feel like trophies.
I think that Philips is trying to say something, but he doesn't know enough about the world and it's many different people to be able to properly reflect on the condition of his main character, both as a disabled person, a disabled man, and a man in general.
I love musicals as much as the next deeply queer woman, but I'm not looking forward to a film that serves as a sequel to a really flawed film, and is going to center on the historically abusive relationship between The Joker (a man) and Harley Quinn (a queer woman). Maybe Philips has learned something new and grown as a filmmaker and person since the first film, but the trailer that we've seen so far for this film feels too much like it buys into the zeitgeist of the initial film in this series, and for that I just doesn't inspire a ton of confidence in me.
EDIT: Also, the guy's a douche who doesn't know how to make comedy and blames 'WOKE' for making it impossible to do so, which kind of just tells me everything I need to know about him and his art.

Oh man this look cool!
The first movie was fine; I've grown to like it more over time. It's like a Taxi Driver-lite, but it's alright. This movie looks fun and interesting, and both actors apparently are incapable of giving anything less than a great performance in whatever movie they're in. I'm looking forward to it. Making it into a musical is an inspired choice.
-
That Superman suit is . . . not looking good.
Mister Terrific doesn't look too bad from that angle though.
-
-
Damn, it's such a shame that Superman & Lois is ending after just four seasons. I really like "Superman as a dad" as a status quo, we've had decades of single Clark, let's do older Clark as the regular thing now.
-
Holy shit, they released three minutes from the Season 4 premier. Even with a slashed budget you can tell that they really decided to be ambitious.
-
Creature Commandos is not a bad idea. They have all been around long and by some way achieved longevity or immortality, so their behavior and perceptions are not what you expect. They can't be threatened with death as much, just pain or some torture.
On top of that, its monsters and they aren't villains like the Task Force/SS. They are immortals that most likely don't want to be bothered, but are kept in containment and forced to deal with other cult/immortal type beings.
I didn't see Circe coming until she was announced last year, but that is not the worst antagonist.
My only worry is that this falls into too much of the same, spammed Guardians humor and "oh, we are a family". I'm exhausted of that and have little patience for it.
Some speculated they would go against the source material and switch out the villain, doesn't look like it.
Update number I don't know
-
I hope it's not just about Dick and Jason—Tim and especially Stephanie deserve better recognition as Robins.

The puppets they're using for Dynamic Duo are INSANE. Like, witchcraft levels of HOW? I would swear it was CG.
Like to test it they tried to simulate Iron Giant footage.
I hope we're getting this same kind of tech for Tony Tony Chopper in One Piece LA.
-
That's insane.
It would be AMAZING if they did that for Chopper, but I have a feeling they didn't.
-
I definitely want Jessica Cruz at some point. I think once John is established as the main Green Lantern and not a rookie anymore it would be great to have Jessica come in and be his rookie partner. I really love her character arc of overcoming mental health issues (also, girl is bisexual as hell)!
-
This very well could be lore accurate, I have no idea, but all I could think is this is just Suicide Squad, just with supernatural members.
-

I think that’s the entire point
The government told Amanda Waller that she can’t use people for her Suicide Squad anymore and because she’s Amanda Waller she found a loop hole by using creatures that aren’t human
Granted I find it funny they went this route seeing as how poplar Suicide Squad is
-
@Shiebs fair, just bringing it up given it just seems to be James Gunn doing the same thing he did before, just in cartoon form. That’s fine, I liked his Suicide Squad, just feels repetitive for one of his first outings in his universe

Goddamn, Superman (2025) is going to have a lot to match up to after this season of Superman and Lois has basically kicked the shit out of previous Superman continuities in just nailing making a dramatic and fun take on Clark Kent and friends. Tyler Hoechlin is an all-time great.
