Guts now has to wear a bag over his head when traveling with Casca.
Berserk

Interesting little detail on this chapter was how Miura used his old Golden age art style in few panels perhaps for reminicent of events from decades ago.
-
Didn't that just happen with the last chapter?
Did it? It all blends together anymore. Last chapter was what, late April? ANd this one is mid August?
-
@Cyan:
Guts now has to wear a bag over his head when traveling with Casca.
I don't know, he has a history of forgetting to wear bags at times when it may be convenient for the woman…
-
So close, and yet so far…..
-
Miura is writing a new manga. Chapters will be even more scarce. Don't expect more than 2-3 chapters a year, may be less.

Writing, not drawing. I'm sure that doesn't take up that much time compared to the art side of thing while he spends five or six weeks drawing a chapter.
-
Oof it feels good to read this again.
-
I appologize in advance for bumping the thread since I know thats generally accepted as "new chapter notice". But…
Basically Muira is finally satisfied with the quality of the work his assistants are doing and is willing to let assistants do more of the artwork so maybe the chapters will start hitting regularly and the story might actually move along now (I also take it as "he's getting older and been doing this for 30 years, maybe he cares just a wee bit less about being a perfectionist.)
Unlike Hunter X Hunter I actually believe him.
-
Insert Hawkeye Don't Give Me Hope Meme.
-
I thought he went to digital art to lessen his 'burden' !?
Anyway it is good to hear that he wants to speed up the chapters, but I simply don't have that much faith in his words. -

And that concludes Berserk 2020. See you next year then. :^)
-
Man, great chapter, can’t wait for next year.

How can you say something so controversial and yet so brave?
-
Oh my god that fucking face Schierke is making on page 8.
-
I love all the progress and development Farnese has had so far :')
but at the same time the chapter in general didn't have anything really important and we'll have to wait for so long for the next one :(
-
"It's not always a happy thing." In this universe, happy things are few and far between, especially for Guts.
-
Okay, now Farnes's outfit is just screaming "cosplay me". Which isn't a bad thing.
And that bastard can just show up anywhere, can't he?
-
Was hoping to see some interaction between Guts and Casca but ah well we might have to wait 2 years for that.
Interesting that Skull Knight showed up. Not sure where the story is headed now that Casca has regained her memories.
-
Oh boy, is Skull Knight finally going to tell his story?
-

If he does I hope its just in dialogue. If its an actual flashback we'll be in it for a decade.
-
Five years later, Skull Knight's flashback is done.
Then Void shows up and tells his side of the story, and that's another six years.
There have been three different Berserk animes in the meantime.
-
I don't even remember when and why SKull Knight first showed up, it was too long ago. :wassat:

Even with her memories back Casca currently has the world's worst PTSD, so . . . it's gonna take a while.

I haven't re-read the series for few years now so I'm a bit husty on the details but did Miura ever hint at Skull Knight and Void knowing each other?

Not to mention that Skull Knight showed up meaning that some shit is about to go down or we are about to get his backstory…..which as Robby said can take a LONG-TIME.
This is going to be so painful....

It's alluded than one of them was King Gaiseric and responsable for the destruction of the first Midland Kingdom.

At least it might not be on a boat.

6 months ago Miura said he would be churning out chapters faster because his staffs are more experienced now. Let's see how 'fast' he becomes.:ninja:

[HIDE]Yeah it looks like we are getting time skip training arc, it might be only few weeks/months for Guts party but since time floes differently on island who knows how much time passes at world. Guts will try to master his Berserker armor, Schierke and Farnese will advance at their sorcery studies. Caska and Isedro will continue to train as swordsmen and Serpico will continue to master the wind element.[/HIDE]
-
A quiet chapter, sort of, but any time the Skull Knight is in it it's interesting.
-
Well, that release cought be off guard. And just when I told friend of mine a couple of days ago that I hope we'll get a new chapter this year.^^
Now I'm really curious to see where this goes next. -

Reading that felt like having my entrails gnawed on by Nidhogg.
-
I'm calling that girl either his wife/lover or daughter.
Also, is this a confirmation on who Skull Knight is?
-
! Another implication that Skullknight is King Gaiseric
My bet on SK identity is still this. With.
! Void being his Griffith.
-
I think that was all pretty clear from when the King was first mentioned, no?
Also, I don’t see what’s so bad about Skull Knights fate? Sure he may be undead, but the guy seems to be a champion for the good guys.
-
I like that the old Godhand have designs evoking ancient artwork (Literally Zeus, Greek Theater Mask Guy, Fertility Idol, also that skinny dude) and then there's Void in his fuckin' Cenobite getup.
-

Ummm, Champion of the good guys at what price? Losing what was probably all of his loved ones and maybe his kingdom only to become an undead with nothing to live for but killing monsters? Not sure I'd call that a good fate.
-
How much good is he really doing anyway? Didn't he kinda fuck the world up even worse than it was before?
-
So…does that mean SK succeeded in killing 4 god hand?
-
Void is supposed to be the first God Hand, so I dunno. Either those guys are previous God Hand or are really powerful Apostles.
-
I saw someone theorizing that every cycle the god had changes, with Griffith being the one to replace void. As we saw in the flashback they didn't even have the fancy giant hand to stand in.
-
One thing for sure is that SK was protecting his queen/lover in the same manner as Guts has been after being branded.Only difference is he failed eventually( Guts may fail too in the end).
I too think Void was the last apostle of previous cycle, just like Griffith now. He was the priest Gaeseric imprisoned. It is surprising that Gaeseric invaded Elfhelm, going by the hint. -
The fact that we first meet Void n' Pals with only four members makes me wonder if eventually the fifth Godhand jettisons the rest and forms a new one every 1000+ years. Would explain why the Void onward Godhands fit into his "Bootleg Hellraiser" aesthetic.

News is 10 days old. We are getting a chapter soon.
