Cool! Is it going to follow the comics?
Please tell me it DOESN'T follow the comics.
Cause those… kinda fell apart after a while.
Good first few years though.

The wiki only says that would be eight 60min episodes, so I don't think that can adapt fully 25 volumes.
-
Welp, Disney pulled the Alien and Predator licenses from Dark Horse.
-
Geez. Disney should just buy Dark Horse at this point if they're going to take away literally every book that made them money.
-
By this point I think Disney enjoys bleeding out to die other companies.
And goddamn I had a perfect image about but can’t find, my compulsive obsessive behavior is gonna bother all day.
-
I thought it was neat, so I am sharing it.

On a completely unrelated note, since I'll not be following the current Empyre event:
! Since when Hulkling unified the Kree and Skrull empire? Because when Jesscia was to have her baby Carol sent her to a space hospital where a assault group of skrulls was trying a coup on their adolescent ruler.

! It's quite recent. Hulking was shown to be still on Earth during the early chapters of Strikeforce … and he was still a couple with Wiccan then. I think it was the one-shot Incoming that showed Hulking leaving Earth and being 'crowned' as the two races uniting. That issue was either in Jan 2020 or just before/after that, it showed some threads that were suppose to happen this year.

Katzztar my heroine bring all the answers to my questions.
I rather stay with just my X-men and Ms Marvel, maybe some Wade Wilson if I heard it's back being good. Civil War II: Fascist Boogaloo leave a bad tase in my mouth.
Oh G. Wilson has already stared her Wonder Woman? On sic…Bendis stated Superman? -
Are you guys gonna watch any of the virtual San Diego Comic con events? If so what ones?

New Mutants 11, Hellions2 and Wolverine 3 out.
! New Mutants keeps being good, although having a Doxxing site maned Dox is a little dull. Hellions, guess who's back, back again, Maddie's back. Logan a man with a plan, i like that.
So Russia is doing a "Soviet Mutants Cartel" and Brazil is dropping whatever the hell those beast were supposed to be near the gates. Nice to see the stupid mutant hate in Marvel Universe still strong, guess that's what makes the Xmen always relevant, racism is a cancer that's hard to get rid off. -
New Mutants 11
[hide]I just don't understand why this book continues to exist post-Hickman. It has no mission statement and it could've been during any other time in X-Men history. Plus Brisson is obsessed with worthless characters like Glob, Armor, his creepy twins, the MLF (!), basically anyone who isn't a New Mutant (or any of the quality characters available to him from Gen X and NXM). Flaviano's art is okay though.[/hide]
Wolverine 3
[hide]Not much to say about this. Writing good, art good. I liked the setup for the CuckooxCable romance coming up next week in Cable #2.[/hide]
Hellions 2
[hide]Continues to be king shit. We stan the legend Madelyne Pryor. Even underdeveloped characters are fun and intriguing in this. Wells and Segovia are a perfect team because they're both extremely underappreciated in their respective field.[/hide]
X-Men/FF 4
[hide]Not as much a dumpster fire as the previous 3 issues, but it doesn't justify its existence. I guess it functions as Kate Pryde holdover now that she's dead. I think everyone predicted the mini would end with Franklin continuing to live with his parents but going to school on Krakoa/[/hide]
Empyre: X-Men 1
[hide]Why is a crucial piece of plot being sold as extraneous event tie-in??? I'm glad Wanda is finally trying to redeem herself, even if it resulted in her fucking things up again. The art and some of the dialogue was exquisite.[/hide]

Yay Golden Girls Cartel is back in action. it's been awhile.

Weekly X-follow up:
! Poor Esme, even you mother thinks you need a heart break. Lesson learned, never pick up strange alien swords no matter how cool they look.
Cant' say much for a event tie-in that I'm not following, specially on focused on a character I only know through the wiki.
This new X-Factor seem pretty cool. And 20+ years of character development and Northstar still a douche that just très magnifique. -
I actually enjoyed X-Factor, it's moved past X-Force and bumped out X-Men in my top 3 X-titles. And if they don't get some answers for what's happening around Kate, it may overtake Marauders=
1. Marauders
2. X-Factor
3. X-ForceThat small scene between Lorna and Magneto with her asking him what he though about her personality and he was all quiet, with only change in facial expression was raising one eyebrow. Sometimes, that's all you need to get a point across in a story.
Lorna's character has been inconsistent throughout the years: from mere arm-candy to third-wheel hero to victim of possession to ???? then victim again of self-claimed sister Zaladane stealing her powers and we see new powers of Lorna's .. which don't take long to disappear and never see again, regain her classic magnetism, hero again, super-powered detective, and mental instability (WHILE that current story focused on her being Mags daughter, as if writers think being his daughter means gals must go insane)Maybe not in that order and likely left some out but it paints a picture= there is no consistent personality for Lorna Dane, unlike 'Eyeboy: who's helpful and seems somewhat naive. Rachel: hard as nails from hell of a past but still fun loving. Dakken: complete asshole, he knows it and doesn't care. Then there's Northstar: from day 1 he's been self-confident and supremely arrogant, so callous that he rarely showed concern for teammates save for his sister
This writer realizes that Lorna is lacking a defined personality, so poked some fun at that and seemed to promise that maybe, just maybe, they will flesh out Lorna's personality here.

What with X-Men movies in limbo, and artist made some cool pictures of how ACTUALLY to make the original costumes work for live-action rather than just dress everyone in black:

Giant Size Fantomex and X-men Empyre 2
! Wait how long has Fantomex been alive? I don't thing that matches with the Uncanny X-Force backstory.
On the Empyre thingie, the Narco ladies are really fun. And was that a fucking Mojo/Shadow King fusion on the las page?! I know they are working with former enemies to create a better mutant world, but why the fuck resurrect the Shadow King. Essex is more trustful than the mind parasite. -

Shadow King was a psychic entity that possessed the mutant Farouk. Farouk's body was killed way back when Xavier first met him in Egypt.
But he was still psychically bound to Shadow King for some time be has since been separated.
Likely Farouk went through the resurrection protocols, so is alive without the Shadow King inside him. -

Considering that in the Marvel Verse you only stay dead until you are relevant again. Risk gamble I say. And when the Mystique plot to resurrect Irene is gonna kick back in again?

Weekly X update.
! Empyre: They should have learned by now to not let Illyana near dark magical artifacts. And oh boy Wanda, you just needed to pick up the staff and leave.
! Marauders: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Imagine two. Shaw is fucked big time. And the mystery is that was no mystery, an intangible woman can't break the shell of her egg, she has to pass through it.
! XForce:So I guess that's Piotr's older brother. But what the hell were those little russians matryoshkas soldiers. See, that's way you follow proper quarantine procedures, but no. No one ever listens to Ellen Ripley's sound advice. -

Marauders #12 cover revealed:
YES! yesyesyyes YEEEEEEES
I'm not just excited for Kate's return. The "Kill Shaw" is amusing but not enough to be me to squeal. But I am jumping for joy for the return of her luscious and glorious curls. They've straightened her hair for so long, many people don't know her hair is naturally curly.
And damn she looks good here. -
The 80's curl are back as so it's the kick Shaw's butt attitude.
There's nothing to complain. -
Yeah, it was mostly in the 80s, by 90s Kate was in Excalibur and started on the path of relaxing (big body & waves) then straightening her hair by the end of it.

X-Weekly
! Damn, Strange was superbly cocky in X-Empyre 4. Love it. Demon Queen Illyana losing it's power on the buzz beater was also funny. And that last page, Wanda is gonna fuck things up again, ain't she?
! "We do not understand…You have a time machine, but you world is still so...horrible?" Great zinger. Love how good pals Cable and Wade were. Miss the old ass. The new one is not so likable.
! I guess |A| wanted the stone that Gambit picked up right?
! Yikes, Logan is up to some rough shit. -
Wasn't sure if I should post this in here or in the what are you reading (literature) section, but I'm working through Rusty Brown part 1 right now. Has anyone else on this forum ever read Chris Ware? I own Building Stories and Jimmy Corrigan: the Smartest Kid on Earth and both are unbelievable.

X-Weekly
! Nothing much to say. Mojoverse shenanigans, Magneto being a boss and a another spiral down into madness for Madelyn.
-
Hellions and X-Men were amazing this week.
-
Hellions was really good. I loved the callback to Maddy's past. What was that phrase she used? "A nobody person… from a nowhere place"?
The nobody we referring to both her status as a clone and to the corruption of her character. That black image, I have memory of it, think it was around time the demon N'astriath (sp?) corrupted Maddy, playing on her insecurities and transformed her into the Goblin Queen.
The "Nowhere place" refers to the location in Australia where the X-men used as a HQ for a time. It was after the X-Men + Maddie were killed to stop the Adverasry in Dallas. Roma brought them back and the team decided to pretend they were still dead so they could get a hands up over their enemies. Maddie was pressured to go along with them. They hid out in an abandoned town in Australia's outback that was unnamed ... you could say it's a nowhere place. -
Well Gateway probably knows the name of the place, but it’s not like he told anyone.

American comics are good once you get away from the Big 2 spandex superhero stuff. Isola, Monstress, and Saga are all excellent. Usagi Yojimbo has been fantastic for decades. Solme older books that have finished their runs like Fables and Invincible are great. Yeah the X-men and Spiderman and Batman are in a decades old rut and never changing but it is what it is.
-
But the X-Men did change finally last year so now the oldtimey fans are mad.

What'd they change this time that will be undone in a year?
-
What'd they change this time that will be undone in a year?
All mutants, villains included, live on the living island of Krakoa now, which has become an autonomous nation state, which operates internationally by its ability to produce life-saving drugs that cures human diseases. And also mutants can’t die anymore.
Will it be undone? Probably. But not until Jonathan Hickman’s run ends and in those 3-5 years we will finally have had storylines that move the characters into interesting places for the first time in forever, written by people with real passion for the books they write instead of cashing a check and indulging in their childhood nostalgia. If that sticks the landing, I don’t mind if they hire a Hollywood writer next to undo everything again.
Even then, there’s a likely possibility that Feige uses this status quo to introduce the X-Men into the MCU.
-
As long Hickman and Duggan are onboard the project is solid.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Even then, there’s a likely possibility that Feige uses this status quo to introduce the X-Men into the MCU.
That wouldn't be a bad starting point, "We have been persecuted for being different for than humans so we created this safe heaven for us and kept a low profile rescuing mutants worldwide. But the super hero bullshit you guys have been pulling put us a risk."
-
That… kind of sounds like the Inhumans setup, honestly. (I know they already screwed that with the terrible tv show.)
And while that makes sense from a decades of progress and continuity, its a weird starting point and kind of sidesteps the racism allegory and "anyone could be one" angle thats so key to the franchise.
Not that previous movies ever REALLY dealt with that, it was mostly just good mutants versus Magneto mutants outside of the government plotlines, but...
-
Well with the current political situation in US l don’t Disney will be pushing to do “let’s talk hard and harsh about discrimination” type of movie.
-
It's all in the execution. Describing the comics dryly makes them sound really bad in a "Bucky was alive all along? As a Soviet cyborg???" kind of way, but there were more ideas in each issue of HoXPoX than in entire yearslong comic book runs. And it created an online theory culture that reminds me of the Lost heydays.
MCU Spider-Man also sidestepped the more traditional elements of his franchise, though I guess that benefits from the osmosis of constant cartoon reinventions that allow for kids to be intimately familiar with anything Spider-Man related.

16 characters of agreement. A 12 book run was better than the entire Civil War 2; Fascist Boogaloo, including tie-ins.

are the Inhumans comics worth reading these days?
I started reading them after Infinity (2013) when all the humans down on earth with inhuman dna got turned into Inhumans themselves, but I stopped reading them during secret war (2015)
so my question is, are they worth reading? and where to start? and also how many of the new Inhumans got there own comic book series? I know Ms. Marvel did but are there any others
