Trump is probably so full of plastic and other conservative substances that I don't think he would taste good, on the other hand he would probably burn pretty well.
-
You know this whole thing started because people ate something they shouldn't have. Now when America has over 1.2 million confirmed cases you're talking about eating people. That isn't going to help flatten the curve at all. At least make sure to vigorously test whoever you're going to eat beforehand.
Also, because we're on topic if you really want to improve the taste of the meat don't feed meat to your meat. The diet of the "animal" affects the overall flavor of the final product, nobody goes around eating carnivores. So, vegetarians and vegans should be the first to go.

True, he would probably make good fuel.
So, vegetarians and vegans should be the first to go.
So wrong yet so funny.

And now the White House has blocked Fauci from testifying to Congress about the COVID-19 response. Because why would they allow it?

I, in no shape or form, regret what I have created here by my prior post.

That reminds me the Bruno's gang discussed exactly it during Rolling Stones, and the conclusion was that Narancia would be exquisite.

Wouldn't it create a risk with the legislative and probably the judiciary? I mean I know that the orange man is doing this over his whole impeachment case, but is that legal?

No it's not legal but yes he can do it if nobody stops him.

Great another book play for Bolsonaro to copy.

@Johnny:
I mean….we could always eat the rich. Ol' Trump alone could feed three people.
In all seriousness, why would we still keep rich people around, if not for emergency foodstock?

Fertilizer, maybe?

Let's just agree that whatever Donald Trump is used for, he'll be identified as Soylent Orange.

He will become the dust on cheetos that gets stuck on your game controllers. So even in death he will be evil incarnate.
-
So, learned my zip code is the epicenter of cases in Arizona. Fucking swell.
-
What if cheetos dust is already dandruff from Trump?
-

Honestly, it still feels like it's too soon and that he did this due to pressure. I don't expect everyone to respect guidelines ie masks and distance. Doesn't help that some areas are still racking up a lot of cases.

- Live Blog: New York Times / Washington Post / Wall Street Journal / The Guardian / NBC News / CNN / CNBC
1/ Dr. Anthony Fauci, contradicting both Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, said the best scientific evidence shows that the coronavirus did not originate in a Chinese laboratory. “If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats and what’s out there now,” Fauci said, the scientific evidence “is very, very strongly leaning toward this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated.” Fauci added that he doesn’t subscribe to the theory that someone found the virus in the wild, brought it into a lab, and then allowed it to escape and spread to the rest of the world, saying “Everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that [this virus] evolved in nature and then jumped species.” (National Geographic)
- Scientists identified a new strain of the coronavirus that appears to be more contagious than the versions that spread in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The new strain appeared in February in Europe, migrated to the East Coast of the U.S., and has been the dominant strain across the world since mid-March. The new strain may also make people vulnerable to a second infection after a first bout with the disease. (Los Angeles Times)
2/ Trump blocked Dr. Anthony Fauci from testifying before the House because, he claims, it’s “a setup” with a “bunch of Trump haters.” Trump, however, confirmed that he will allow Dr. Fauci to testify before the Republican-controlled Senate sometime next week. The White House told the House that members of the coronavirus task force won’t be allowed to testify, claiming it would divert resources from the pandemic response. (Politico / The Hill / Axios / NPR / CNBC / Washington Post / CNN)
- Trump’s nominee for the newly created “special inspector general for pandemic response” vowed to resist pressure from Trump or administration officials seeking to undermine his independence. Brian Miller is also a member of his White House counsel’s office. His position was created by the $2.2 trillion coronavirus relief law signed on March 27. (Politico / Politico)
3/ Mike Pence said the White House is in “preliminary discussions” to wind down the coronavirus task force, because “of the tremendous progress we’ve made as a country.” The task force could wrap up by early June. A senior White House official said the task force would meet less regularly as the administration focuses on reopening the economy and that the shift is intended to signal that the country is moving into a new phase of the pandemic. Health experts, however, have warned that reopening too soon could lead to more death and economic damage. It’s not clear whether another group would replace the task force. The official added that the change was not intended as a “declaration of victory.” (New York Times / Wall Street Journal / Axios / NBC News / Washington Post / Reuters)
- Jared Kushner’s coronavirus team relied on inexperienced volunteers from consulting and private equity firms with little expertise in the jobs they were assigned. The volunteer group, composed of about two dozen employees from Boston Consulting Group, Insight, McKinsey and other firms, was tasked with securing protective equipment. Some government officials expressed alarm at the presence of the volunteers, saying that their role in the response is unclear and that they needed guidance on basic questions. (Washington Post)
5/ Trump said “it’s possible there will be some” deaths as states roll back restrictions aimed at stopping the spread of the coronavirus, acknowledging that it was the choice the country faces to reopen and jumpstart the economy. Trump encouraged Americans to view themselves as “warriors,” saying it’s not realistic to keep up strict social distancing guidelines in the long term. On Monday, Dr. Fauci said that the decision to reopen states amounted to balancing “how many deaths and how much suffering are you willing to accept to get back to what you want to be, some form of normality, sooner rather than later.” When asked what he would say to Americans who have lost a loved one to the coronavirus, Trump replied: “I love you.” (ABC News)
6/ Trump complained that “bailouts” for states are unfair to Republicans because, he said, the states that would benefit most from funding are run by Democrats. Trump suggested that California, Illinois, and New York are in “tremendous debt” because they “have been mismanaged over a long period of time.” All three are currently run by Democratic governors. Trump, however, said “Florida is doing phenomenal, Texas is doing phenomenal, the Midwest is, you know, fantastic — very little debt.” Trump continued, “It’s not fair to the Republicans because all the states that need help — they’re run by Democrats in every case.” (NBC News)8/ The federal scientist involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine filed a whistleblower complaint with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. Dr. Rick Bright, former director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, alleges that he was removed from his position for pushing back on “efforts to fund potentially dangerous drugs promoted by those with political connections” and that he tried to “prioritize science and safety over political expediency.” In the complaint, Bright charged the Department of Health and Human Services with “an abuse of authority or gross mismanagement,” saying the agency’s chaotic response was the result of “pressure from HHS leadership to ignore scientific merit and expert recommendations and instead to award lucrative contracts based on political connections and cronyism.” Bright was removed from his post on April 20 after having served as BARDA director for nearly four years. He was reassigned to a narrower role at the National Institutes of Health. (NBC News / NPR / CNN / Washington Post / Axios / CBS News)poll/ 75% of Americans rated Dr. Fauci’s response to the coronavirus outbreak “excellent,” while 44% said the same of Trump. (Washington Post)
poll/ 32% of Americans believe the reported coronavirus death toll numbers. 44% believe the number of Americans dying from COVID-19 are higher, while 23% say the number is lower. Among Democrats, 63% say the number of reported deaths are higher while 24% of Republicans say the same. (Axios) -
The US has a full 1/3 of the worldwide cases right now, 1/3 of the deaths, and only1/10 of the recovered. And that is with it still being horrendously undertested. Trump is refusing to let tests go out because he knows if we get real numbers its going to immediately jump somewhere between double and five times what we think its at right now.
It is NOT ready to reopen. But I don't know if its possible to deal with under this administration beyond "let it spread and kill millions"..
Maybe, just maybe if there'd been a competent person in charge and they just did what Canada has done and say "Everyone stay home, every adult gets a 2000$ check for the next two months, just STAY HOME" people wouldn't be so terrified about foreclosures and making rent and demanding the re-opening too soon. Instead complete idiocy with a reluctant "you'll get 1,200$ for 10 weeks" which… obviously isn't going to last anyone.
They threw literal trillions into the stockmarket to try and boost it up for 15 minutes, maybe if they'd instead... made everyone feel safe and secure instead...?
If everyone could just stay home for two weeks it'd be over and done... and instead we're well into month two, going into month three. I get that its just not feasible for everyone to do that but...
Would also be nice if thousands of people weren't going to the beach like idiots...
The worst part of all is going to be the second wave in August or September after everyone gets tired of hiding when its probably going to hit even worse.

I've only gone outside 10 or 11 times since early March. I'm at my wits end… lol.
It would be nice if we got three rounds or so of government checks to encourage people to stay home. I really don't want to hit a "reset" button on this thing come flu season and have to shut down again.

If I didn't have to work I would never leave the house unless I had to get groceries/prescriptions.

I'm working retail during this, and I while we have safety gear I still want to scream at people who don't maintain good social distancing. It's making days really tense.

Many of you have probably heard about and/or seen that "Plandemic" vid that's being thrown around for the past week, with it claiming stupid things like how "the virus is not naturally-occurring" or using masks/gloves make you more sick, etc. Now they're doing closer looks at its claims, and as you may have guessed they're all pretty weak:

This kind of misinformation is just…. ~_~ borderline criminal to be spreading that kind of talk today.

Something that seemed like it'd be nice to share:
In Japan, images of the mermaid-like creature, Amabie, are said to ward off viruses. So at Nakagori Elementary School in Kagoshima, an Amabie mascot painted a giant Amabie in the schoolyard.
Photos of the giant Amabie were taken by a drone and will be put into pendants and distributed to the kids.

Ugh I was so tired of seeing my friends share that stupid documentary. The only good thing it accomplishes is helping you suss out who of your friends are anti-vaxxers.

I'm not what you'd call an extremist, but if/when we get a vaccine for this, and if people refuse to take it, I humbly suggest that person be sterilized to prevent making more of their stupidity.

I think most people are glad to save the money at this point.
I would believe that if for the last two weekend my Target wasn't filled to it's way to high capacity with the line heading all the way to the back of the store and half of the people trying to buy irrelevant stuff and people wandering around the store buying and looking at nonsense.
And that's not speaking about the obnoxious drive up and order pick up service.
-
I can relate. My store is in the busy season for gardening season, and as such people are buying a ton of garden supplies. This wouldn't be weird, but we're still in the middle of the pandemic and these definitely aren't essential goods. It's maddening.
What also sucks is my store has one entrance to go in, and the garden area is exit only. There's a huge sign. Yet, on a daily basis me or someone else has to stop people from walking in an reminding them that we have a freaking line to the store. Sure, we'll let in one or two people if they're done shopping, but it's annoying how many people just ignore signage.
In these times, the obnoxious customers stand out worse than ever.
-
California is opening little by little but im just waiting on the call to go back to work like everyone else

You might call this a sign of the end of times, but this just makes me smile:

I don't know, it seems like the worse things get, the more they dig their heels in. And they already have a built in excuse if things do get worse. An old high school friend said the other day, basically, we're all just causing our immune systems to become weak, so we're guaranteed to have a second wave. It's all the fault of these guidelines, yep! It's all been planned.
I thought I'd have a conversation with another friend on facebook because she was being reasonable, but then all these keyboard warrior dudes dropped in and started unloading a shit ton of conspiracy stuff. I know that game, and I won't play it. I just asked a few simple questions and instead of answering them, it's a manifesto about how Bill Gates, Jeff Soros, and Hillary Clinton have some vague involvement in the development of the virus to make money off of vaccines and Remdesivir. And of course, all media and fact checkers are owned by the deep state.

I would just avoid Facebook entirely then.
I mainly use Discord and hadn't heard of the Plandemic movie before it was mentioned in this thread.
