Those first chapters really makes me nostalgic. Ippo and Miyata should hang out a bit. Just to chill. They both put themselves in such high regards that they make every conversation way to high stake. Now that Ippo's out they can chill like the boxing fans they are.

Ippo's ability was insane in that spar. Also designs were so round and different.
It's weirdly fun to see Ippo first show boxing where he would just fall down sometimes because the shadow hit him. And seeing how he absorb information and Taka is here to help him grow. Not in joke manner but legitely with advices.
That's second spar is freaking great. When Ippo does that first dodge or straight counter Miyata you just want to cheer. The second down is just perfect. I remember not being sure about Ippo catching up so fast but damn it if it's not great. Every page make you want to see the next one and see each of them adapt to the other.
The training montage for the 3 months is also pretty great. Same for making the shadow piece by piece.
That win is so freaking embarassing for MIyata where he is clearly conscious and his body probably doesn't hurt but all he can do is be on his knees.
Miyata has a "come at me bro. You're nothing" pose after his first down on Mashiba. No wonder he got pissed. And that page is awesome. Also I don't ever got so pissed at aa fight not hapenning in the way the author intended it. I usually get frustatred in that I think it's bad writing but this one was the perfect the asshole took the fight you wanted.
Also It's why Miyata works but Itagaki doesn't. When Mashiba cheated he didn't waste time bitching about it in the middle of the match. He tried to fight back. He failed. But he tried. And he never made excuses for but instead tried to learn from the experience. Both might be arrogant but one of them doesn't consider they are entitled to victory.
I think my favorite Fuck you moment from Ippo is him destroying Mashiba's Elbow when he keeps up with his bullshit. The other Ippo moment are just Ippo being really good at boxing and powerful. But this one was just fuck you I know I'm destroying my hand and you expect me to back off but ibut I'm not letting you win you asshole.
That Trio of Mashiba-Ippo-Miyata was just great and made that tournament awesome. The asshole that will win no matter what, the underdog that won't quit, the prodigy with something to prove. It's crazy to think that now Ippo is trying to bang his siter and just sees him as an overprotective bother.

Jumping around is fun . 72-416-417 are great representation of how important the match is both Ippo and Miyata. Ippo is usally so passive and I think it's the only time we see Ippo straight not only challenge the coach but also actually state that he wants something and don't care what it cost him. It's bad enough the coach slap him and even when he leaves his statement is still I'll get stronger but I want Miyata. And as usual Miyata is just beggin to get a fight with him.
622 is also a good one where the coach is warning Ippo about the new generation and He's just like how about instead of spanking rookies I relinquished the belt and go for the fight I really one.
Volume 57 is great(513-522). It's basically Taka and Miyata together and it really feels like Taka looking out for his little brother. He gives him advice about not slacking off and goe to improve and they even fish together. And it's even better when you remember that Taka ask for it. It's probably because outside from him Miyata was the one with the most ambition off the club and he doesn't want to lose the other person that knows what it takes to make it. They can't be slackers like the rest.
@Satsuki:
One reason I don't totally hate Kumi, is because she has to put up with that.
She will probably be the one to propose at the end of the manga.
And I would perfectly be happy with Ippo becoming a trainer in full, except he keeps those damn weights on. If you're going to be a trainer, Ippo, let it go.
I say let the guy box for fun in his free time. It's not the worst hobby and it keeps him in shape. Just don't put him in a high stake pro match. The problem really is it would be hard for him to fight without the coach and everyone else being on his ass to get back in the official ring
Anyone remember why Randy's coach had a problem with Miyata?
