Astoundingly wrong impression aside, my point is massive decade-long fan campaigns mean nothing to Nintendo. This TTYD petition is a joke by comparison.

The plot of Mother 3 is kind of stupid
if you have no taste in storytelling
-
Yeah Nintendo's logic is weird people wanted Mother 3 localized…...so they randomlylocalized the first game which isn't as well liked or cough well designed as the 2nd game (have yet to play 3). Who knows people can keep asking for Mother 3 and instead they localize Captain Rainbow, gotta keep them guessing:ninja:.

That was an old unreleased translation they made in the NES days. No extra work was required.

Should've figured given they more or less did the same with Starfox 2 on the SNES Classic.
-
As it is, I'm perfectly content with the M3 translation Mato did. It's Nintendo's loss if they don't want to capitalize on it, and if they made their own separate translation, it'd probably have to work to measure up to Mato's great stuff, anyway.
-
As a product, Mato's translation is excellent. But out of principle, Mother 3 should be officially localized (be it with the Mato translation or redone or whatever) just for formal exposure of it to a wider audience than just people who play smash bros or are fervent fans of the series. At the minimum, it would reduce the number of people who insinuate that the writing in the game sounds kind of stupid off of a synopsis.

There actually might be a complete unreleased translation of Captain Rainbow sitting around. :P
The European release was cancelled at the last minute so who knows?
I'll just buy the game via ebay being that it's on the list of games I missed the first time around I had a gamecube.
Though they do got to do something with Path Of Radiance the markups on that game is ridiculous.
Just mod a Wii U. It's backwards compatible with Gamecube games but Nintendo never officially implemented that feature.

Kind of impractical to do that when there's not a whole lot of anything on the Gamecube's library that I could justify modding a WiiU to play…...and when I already have the Gamecube anyway (and yes this in spite of the fact I bought two separate PS2's one of which is modded).
I honestly don't mind paying the markups since their high prices ensure that they'll be around long enough for me to get it by putting money to the side that's what I did for the Gamecube Component cables.
I expect my collection will involve the following before I'm set
- Paper Mario TTYD
- MGS Twin Snakes
- Viewtiful Joe (because Capcom would rather remaster and rerelease Okami)
- Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader
- One of the Mario Party games
- Mario Kart Double Dash
- FE POR

I just kept my old Wii around for playing GC games. I can't believe Smash Bros. Melee wasn't on your list! Mine would also have included Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine and probably one or two things that haven't gotten a re-release on the Wii or Wii U.
I really hope Nintendo isn't just intentionally withholding localized versions of things like Mother 3 and remasters of Paper Mario TTYD for a rainy day when their fiscal year is going crappily and they need something they know will be big to create an instant cash cow.

Had it originally, just bought it again two weeks ago…...forgot how obnoxious unlocking some of the stuff was.
Super Mario Sunshine
Now this I actually did forget (along with Megaman.EXE Network Transmission) kind of debating getting japanese version being I already had the english version when it originally came out eventhough the japanese version had a couple of hiccups that the english release fixed but of course it has Mario speaking which someone on the localization team felt the need to remove for some reason.

Network Transmission…now, I know that one was exclusive to the GC but I just couldn't wrap my head around it after falling in love with the actual Megaman Battle Network RPG games.

Anyone have the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle season pass or DLC bundle? I'm in the middle of the Spooky Mansion part and I'm loving the game, and assume there's at least one more major field to fight through once I complete that one, and I'm wondering what the length of the Donkey Kong chapter is and if all the other things like the bonus weapons and such are worth the price of the season pass. I got the game for about $20 at Gamestop now that there was a huge price drop (no idea why, this game is something else! Plus Mario games usually keep their value…) so if the DLC isn't at least as long as two full fields of the game, I don't anticipate spending that same amount on it. Is there enough there to justify the purchase? And is there any more DLC on the horizon for it that the season pass will allow access to if and when it does?

It's an Ubisoft game so any new story content will definitely require a new season pass.
I loved the game and bought the season pass but, as tends to happen, I'd moved on to other things long before the new content came out and I never got around to playing it. -

Lame. I had thought that was the whole point of it, being able to access all DLC regardless when it got released. I've never heard of any games using numerical season passes so I figured they worked the other way. If not…damn.

It's uncommon but I definitely remember hearing Jim Sterling complain about games with more than one season pass (and additional paid DLC not included in the pass, like Smash Bros' Mii Fighter costumes).
Most games just stop producing DLC before you feel you've got your money's worth.
-
That's such a scam. It's as shameful as the legalized political bribery we have to deal with.
-
It's really easy to avoid. Just don't buy season passes. Buy the DLC individually once it's out, if it even looks good. But no it's $5 cheaper to buy a season pass on faith so let's all do that and then complain about getting ripped off!
-
Or not and just do the same.
-
Well the Mario/Rabbids season pass right now is on sale for about 6 bucks off so I'm going to roll the dice on that deal.
If they're remaking Sunshine, please make the last roller coaster level in Pinna Park NOT goddamn impossible!

Angus is a bovine.
Get it?!
-
Snes games!!! Finally!! That is all i needed, i'm completely satisfied.
Deadly Premonition caught me totally off guard! Never would've guessed they'd release a port AND a sequel.
Glad i never bought Divinity 2. I'll need to put it on my list now …
-
LOL at Sakurai promoting XBox.
-
Oh boy, another season of Smash DLC madness coming up? Sakurai has the look of someone silently pleading, "I want to die but they won't let me."
Let's see… I'm honestly surprised to see Jedi Outcast being ported in the Year of Our Lord Twenty-Nineteen; I had just assumed that no Star Wars game based on the old EU would ever see the light of day again due to Disney/political stuff. I'd much rather see some related to the Rogue Squadron trilogy though, but maybe this'll open the door for that.
Xenoblade Chronicles - Now With Character Models That Don't Look Like Shit Edition. I would probably bite if I could just get past the battle system. Whether it be this, the sequel, or X it just looks too much like an MMO vomited over it for me to enjoy.
And lastly, Tokyo Mirage Session is the latest Wii U game to be saved from the Wii U. It's a Megami Tensei game, and apparently not a bad one if you can gut through the premise and cheesiness of it, so I'll likely get it (and hopefully the development team can now start working on my dream game, Devil Survivor 3). Of course Atlus managed to kinda-sorta squeeze in yet another Remake Girl. They're so predictable in that way.
-
Tokyo Mirage Sessions is supposed to be super fucking good.
Also what the fuck DEADLY PREMONITION 2
-
-
@Cyan:

bWell shit Cyan co-signing it so it must be good in spite of the all the butthurt over it.
Pikmin 4 is Nintendo's Half-Life 3.
I mean Hey Pikmin was a thing. The closest approximation would be Metroid Prime 4…..but then again Federation Force.
So maybe Advance Wars 4?
-
-
maybe this is my time to FINISH Xenoblade now.
-
I’ll get it if it has some bestiary or encyclopedia feature. I still have it on the Wii U otherwise.
-

I feel like that's exaggerated because barely anyone bought it in the first place, though I figure I'd still enjoy it since I enjoy pretty much everything Atlus releases.
I did really like the top comment for the announcement on Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/czrsf4/tokyo_mirage_sessions_fe_encore_coming_to_switch/
"The absolutely fantastic game that managed to scare off just about every demographic that may have been interested.
First they advertise it as a fire emblem and shin megami tensei game. Turns out it's Persona. Then they don't have an english dub, scaring off the average consumer. While this would normally make the weebs happy, they flooded the game with gratuitous censorship, which weebs hate.
This left Persona fans, who aren't particularly attached to SMT, that would enjoy Fire emblem cameos (but 0 fire emblem gameplay), don't mind Japanese dub, but also don't mind heavy censorship. Also, they had to be one of the few people that own a Wii U.
This was apparently like… 30,000 people. Which I'm glad I was one of, because it was fantastic. I only hope they put back all of the cut content and remove the censorship." -
Meanwhile I just want Bayonetta 3…

That's not very 3DS of them.
-
Seems very 'You have 20 now. Wait for more'
-
Just like with the Wii U Virtual Console! Feels like home.
-
Except on Virtual Console you can buy or not buy games. Switch Online is a paid subscription. "Pay us continuously to release things when we feel like it" is not how you convince people they're getting value out of a shoddy service.
-

Yeah but Wii U had Miiverse and you actually owned the games.
Yet another reason the Switch is inferior to the Wii U. :/

Sigh Yeah…it died too soon. How perfect a platform it would have been as the medium for a new Pokemon Snap game. I suppose the Switch could do but having both the TV and gamepad would have been better. I still prefer the Wii U for Captain Toad's minecart levels.
Anyway...sequel to Wonderful 101? I only played the demo and wasn't really sure how an entire game about that would work, especially with more characters. Was it supposed to be kind of a Pikmin hybrid?

Really?
Wii U had the Virtual Console, the gamepad + TV combo and made the best use of the touchscreen (not needing a special stylus to be purchased separately) and no need to be portable since the 3DS exists. The Switch library is basically what the Wii U could have had if they hadn't screwed the pooch on third party developers and made it last another year or two. The Switch might as well have just been the next incarnation of the 3DS and gone with a different home console.

Wait, so you "rent" the NES and SNES games? So if you cancel your subscription, they're gone? The fuck, glad I got Super Metroid for the 3DS then
