Paris Hilton had "That's hot." Trademarked. How people get common phrases is wonky and inconsistent lol.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part II: Do the Dio Walk!

It's the Part 5 crew in particular that seems to have been screwed by estates.
Filthy Acts Done for Reasonable Price is the pinnacle of creative translation and you can’t prove it wrong.
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap wasn't actually changed to that, they just call Valentine's Stand "D4C" (which is what is was called 95% of the time anyway) and have him say Filthy Acts as a nod towards it.

Purple Haze Feedback is gonna be fun in the sun if it ever get adapted because that book was exclusively Hendrix references

Dub Rohan is Vic Mignogna.
Life is good.
-
there's a lot of words i could use to describe Rohan's dub casting but i'll leave it at "appropriate"
-
I just don't care, I call them their real name, you call them their real name, they in the original version call them by their real name, just like Zolo, Kami Enel, or the spirit bomb.

So were all these various backstories actually in the Manga? I know for sure Giorno's was in the manga but I don't remember the rest of these. Either way.
! Putting a corpse in over 30 frames is a hard core way to get a point across.

The anime expanded on this little flashback quite a bit- the whole scene in the restaurant is anime-original, and the manga only showed indistinct silhouettes of the execution squad.
The JoBro flashbacks are all canon, though they have been moved around a bit.
-
I've never liked villains being put in shadow when they're first introduced. I much prefer having them shown before and seeing them interact. So I'm glad they did that. I'm surprised that the corpse didn't have any or much censorship. Hopefully that means some of the later fights won't be as badly censored.
-
! Showing that Cioccolata was the one to do all the actual killing/preserving of Sorbet and Gellato is a good addition, because Diavolo doesn't really seem the type to do something like that (he'd rather punch their heads off and leave the bodies somewhere no one will find.)
-

! It's a really good use of the character, and it hypes the level of insanity his fight will have.
David Pro is doing a Kars job on this one. -

Interesting, thanks for the clarification.
I'm not sure if the anime has added a lot of value, but I am enjoying this part a lot more than I remember enjoying it when I read it. I realize now that I made a huge mistake rushing through all the parts back in 2014, catching all the way up where part 8 was up at the time in about 10 weeks or so. After a certain point everything became a blur but now being able to watch the parts weekly helps a lot.
-
Part 5 is so good so far…Watching it weekly helps reduce the monotone of the non-stop fights.
Araki has never shy away from body gore & violent. But Sorbet's death really creeps me out in the worst possible way. That's the mafia for you. Somehow the death by car was not as disturbing as that despite all the blood.
Formaggio's group are clearly going to be one of the many villains that the group is going to face. They are the one who has a grudge against the boss I'm surprised those are anime original scene.
I'm also loving the fight so far. Narancia is also a lot more smarter.
Is there any reason why Formaggio didn't revert back to his normal size immediately? -
Sometimes I wish Araki goes into a game of thrones/ politics kind of a setting for his stories.
I feel like he could do well but then again half of his cast monologues too damn much. -
I think that araki shouldn't do that, as while in the shonen/thriller can adapt to his quirks, a political drama needs more consistency.
-
A political drama would require for Araki to not forget. We are well versed in the fact he will.

David Production is going to milk the hell out of the assassins' popularity, huh? And I support it.

i fully expect an official Ghiaccio dakimakura with reversible White Album edition
edit: I have to say, it was a great detail on the anime's part making Cioccolatta the one to kill Gelato, completely in-character and good foreshadowing of his presence
-
It took me a while to realise this…did Araki just open an italian food dictionary and named the assassin squad after them?

Probably. I use menus to name 99% of my video game and tabletop rpg characters too lol.

Pretty much every character in this part has some food reference in their name.
Fugo's surname is pannacotta, abbachio is lamb chops with bone, Mista's some type of salad.
-
the only one that's a food reference and a music reference is buccelatti
his name means Brown Sugar -
Ok, they might want to tone it down a bit here. They went a bit too far with Formaggio to the point it was getting cringe worthy… this kind of cringe.
-

I'm italian and I assure you Buccelliati (Which is what Bucciarati is supposed to be) is a type of pasta, it doesn't mean sugar. That would be Zucchero.
On a side note, I love the detail that Narancia's mother is called Mela. Mela is Apple, Arancia is Orange hehehe
-
Bruno's name is weird because Araki gets everyone else's names spelled correctly in katakana but Bruno Buccellati's name in katakana doesn't form those sounds. It's ブローノ・ブチャラティ which is Burouno Bucharati, or made to be less syllabic, Brono Bucciarati. It just seems strange to me that Bruno's name is so off compared to everyone else's but people just change it to fit what they think it's supposed to be. Even the anime doesn't pronounce it burouno but Bucciarati is kept how it's spelled.

Probably because Bruno's an italian name. And Bucciarati is the italian spelling of Bucharati (Which would be read bukarati in italian).
-
Bruno is an Italian name but Bruno's name isn't Bruno if you take the katakana straightforward, which is what I'm saying. Same as there's no way to get Buccelliati (or Buccellati is what I usually see) from the katakana. I rendered the katakana as Bucharati just because ch is a more common way of writing what ci/cci is in Italian. The katakana is like charm, not a k sound like Abbacchio's name. It's possibly Araki made a mistake with Bruno's name but it just seems unlikely since everyone else's names are fine. People use the way that everyone else' name is spelled but not Bruno's. I wonder if Araki romanized it somewhere as Bruno Buccelliati, but then that just makes me wonder why the katakana is so off from that.

! No Tooru which is a surprise for me. I thought for sure there would be at least a little bit of stuff with him. But it doesn't seem like he held up Josuke and Rai at all. Wu might have been taken out this chapter too. And it seems that they're more onto Jobin than they were last chapter. The end is weird as hell though, with Mitsuba's nose being taken away. Don't know what that means, like if the baby is fine or whatever. The tagline at the end might hint that it's alive? I don't know.

Yeah, no Tooru was a let down. As for the baby, it was fine as soon as Mitsuba ate the fruit, the question was how much it would cost her since Wu was not making sure important parts wouldn't be affected. Araki raised all the flags so we would think she would end up suffering some brain damage, but it turned out to be just something silly as an ugly nose (which also works to show some progression as Mitsuba was all about having a flawless appearance and in the end she was relieved the only damage she suffered was the most visible part of her face).
I don't get how Josuke knew how to counter Wu's ability, though.

I thought that water killed the rock humans, how did Wu manage to use the sprinklers?
-
When was that said? Didn't the guy without legs live under the lake?

I'm probably remembering wrong since it's been a while but wasn't that how the architect died?
-

No, no, you are thinking of rock pokémon.
The architect is actually surviving under water, iirc. They tied him up under water so if he comes out of his stone state he will drown, so he has to stay as stone forever to stay "alive".
iirc
-
Yagiyama is just dead. Rock Humans need air to stay alive in their rock states and he died when josuke stole the air out of his lungs
And then his very important dick fell off -

I just looked over the chapter where they beat the architect and he did die. They are weaker to water because of araki biology but they don't die instantly or anything, something about skin respiration being slower for rock humans. The plan was to tie him up underwater if he just turned to rock, but he died before that.
Magenta Magenta from the previous part did actually end up underwater like that though. -

–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I don't remember this Fugo backstory, is it form Purple Haze Feedback?
-
Fugo's backstory is anime original. It isn't the same backstory from PHF but it has similar elements, but that's only because both are based on what Illuso says in the manga which is that Fugo beat a professor with an encyclopedia.
-
That’s nice, David Pro is really doing a great work.

Purple Ha- eeerm, I mean Purple Smoke looked so cute when it tried to clean itself. And those noises :D
Also, gotta love Abbachio's "Yo, I don't even care about you, but just get the fuck away from where you are!" to Giorno. That killer virus is something you truly wouldn't even wish upon your worst enemies.
-
Abbachio is getting more tsundere for Giorno. Say he doesn't care but he does. He is also really touchy with Giorno:ninja: Jokes aside, it is fair for Abbachio to be suspicious of this new guy. It has been 1 or 2 days since they met? He was right in his assessment that Giorno will do something that will get them killed.
I knew Illuso was part of the assassin squad but I had to check back the previous episodes to see if he was there. He had one of the more generic design so I actually forgotten about him.
Purple Haze is a pretty powerful stand. I love how creepy and unhinged it looks. Then it switch to being obsessive with cleaning of its drool.
So far, storywise, we are getting into the format where everyone is taking turn showing off their stand, their backstory and fighting against the opponent of the week. I will admit that I'm getting a bit bored of this format. Hopefully, after this, we start seeing Bruno's gang interact more and use their stands in a teamwork battle. -

This is just perfect. A beautiful duwang in fact.
