I've been predicting since Merry was "destroyed" that she would be back to save the crew in a glorious way, only to be put down by those who would say, "give it up, Merry is dead!"

If of all, let me just state that Terek's logic makes pretty much all vs. threads useless, still though, I think it's heavily implied that people like Mihawk are stronger then Enel, otherwise every idiot who eats a logia fruit can surpass a shichibukai.

Still though, yeah, we don't know his techniques. However, this "red book" said that Mihawk can cut elements? Well, it's that true then it sound like Mihawk could cut Enel and Croc agin.

Ener has to become pure lightning to move at the speed I noted before, which is why he can "teleport". As for why he didn't teleport all the time to avoid Luffy, there are a number of explanations we can come up with to explain Oda's very simple intention of "making the fight interesting".

I believe that teleporting is only good for avoiding, and has some limits. For one, honestly all of Luffy's attack caught Enel by surprise, so no dodging there.

And the Golden rifle was…well, maybe he can't dodge in the giant thunder god form? Or, Enel didn't want to run away until dead. Or, Enel wanted to try to keep stabbing Luffy with his trident.

Remember, Croc can fly. Why would he walk/run when he can fly?

He did, when charging Luffy after drank all that water. It resulted in him getting covered with water, and frankily wasn't all that fast for some reason Maybe it's only fast while over sand?

I looked in all the SBS and there is nothing of the sort.

The Shichibukai are considered one of the Three Great Powers in One Piece. Luffy's defeat of Crocodile was no small feat in that he was one of the top pirates in the world and his defeat has left a vacant position in the Shichibukai which upsets the balance of power in the Grand Line.

I'm surprised that people don't think more highly of Mihawk. We may not have seen that much of him, but when the government held that meeting at HQ and called the Shichibukai to attend, I was left with the impression that Mihawk was one of the most power Shichibukai making him one of the most powerful characters in One Piece. Not a lot of facts to back that up, but judging from his attitude and the way others have treated him that is the gut feeling that I'm left with.

Concerning the VA , they are as strong if not stronger than lucci , among them nobody give a shit about lucci being defeated , the "…...." of scarface means nothing because lucci has been doing the same thing a couple of time during the arc , if lucci were stronger they would be shocked or saying something like : " I can't believe this ......rob lucci the strongest cp9 in history...... it's a nightmare!!!" instead of that we get a who give a shit feeling .

If lucci was a marine he would be above colonel rank but still under VA rank , saying the are weak is saying that smoker is weak because he his more VA level than colonel level , i agree with the fact that the VA are not on the same level and that there might be some who are stronger than the others but i am sure that even the weakest of them is still above the average cp9 .

I think that the fact that people need them to be "weaker" than lucci is just for them to not outshine the cp9 glory but in my eyes the cp9 has been outshined ( i don't know if the word is right ^^) since the moment the buster call ship and the VA arrived at EL .

I m sure they won't fight now but i m also sure their purpose is more to be the witness of the strawhat power , they are the ones who will decide to put higher bounties on the strawhat and that's why they are observing them with attention right now ( i am thinking about scarface because he is the VA who has been shown the most ) .

I have just recently got "caught up" with One Piece. This is the first chapter I have had to wait for to come out! Hahaha. But it was really good. I am looking forward to see their next adventures. :D Gah I hate that I have to wait a week for the next one! But oh well, at least now I can actually get some school work done instead of reading one piece all day hahaha. Actually I should be going to class right now. @_@

i was refering to the VAs, im aware the Shichibukai are a power of the grand line and they obiusly surpass the VA.

Ah, you meant that it was an exaggeration that the VAs were Shichibukai level? My misunderstanding.

Had to sudy the last panel carefully to find everyone. Usopp is the easiest to spot because of Kabuto. To the right of him it looks like a straw hat amongst the arms and legs. Left of Usopp you can see Nami's clima-tact. Above her is Kokoro with Chopper, Chimney and Gonbei in tow. Above them are the massive arms of Franky. Robin gets the short end of the stick as you can't make her out at all (looks like a tiny body below a stetson, which she hasn't worn for a while). Top right are the 3 scabards for Zoro's swords and next to him the outstretched leg of Sanji. I wonder if Oda used a magnifying glass to draw those.

Oda must have stayed up late all through this arc. Look at the detail in every chapter…there's just so much going on!!

And I have to say, I was waiting for this moment. I was starting to think it wouldn't happen, but I thought of a scene like this happening where Merry appears and saves Luffy a loooong time ago. As for whether Merry is back for good, I don't know, I tend to believe what the shiprights say. I would rather this be Merry's final hurrah rather than the final return, but then if they have a good explaination for Merry permenantly returning, then that's OK too. But then this leaves the question again of what part Franky will play. There was one person who vehemently disagreed against Merry departing because he thought it would be like the classic Star Trek losing the Enterprise for another ship. But is One Piece really the same?

Anyway, this was just a wonderful heart-pounding chapter, albeit a bit chaotic. Maybe now all the people who bashed Usopp for fighting over Merry can finally shut up for good now. Instead they'll find other things, but oh well. XD

I thought it was kind of cool how Usopp first heard the Merry's voice, then Luffy and Chopper, and then gradually everything else…it was a neat writing tool.

I think we all know that sanji did something cool, even though he said it wasnt cool. It will probably help them escape later.

As for how Going Merry got fixed and its sailing back here.. I dont know… maybe someone else is on it too... Maybe Iceburg...

I think having going merry here is perfect for the escape. Why?

Because the Going Merry is so small compare to the battleship, it can probably easily dodge the cannons that might shoot at them. Nami can also use her mist thing, and then sail away while hiding in between those big ships.

Usopp can also use a smoke screen to obstruct the view long enough for Going Merry to disappear into the sunset. (And head back to Water 7…But the admirals couldn't know that.)

I think no one fixed it, it never got destroyed, well technically Usopp was the last one to fix it after Franky tore some off. But yeah. I imagine there escape will be interesting.
