Beach football is a bit ridiculous to me haha @FolhaS.
That's the point, brother.
It's so over the top and flashy, it's the closest to a Captain Tsubasa game in real life.
As for PT-BR relations, politically it's a friendly relation. Since we share the language there is some facility in making some trade deals and other international deals (like studying abroad) but nothing outrageous.
Culturaly it's a bit one sided, we get a lot of music and soap operas from Brazil here, and they tend to be very popular but they couldn't give less of a shit about ours.
Socially, there are always jokes and burns about each other (both sides claim that the other is poor and dumb) but outside that it's pretty friendly. Well there are assholes and idiots everywhere, last year there was a bit of discussion about brazillian students facing discrimination and racism by other students in the Uni and having a higher tuiton and just this world cup there was a ressurgent of comments against Portugal in the social netowrks because we stole their gold, hundreds of years ago when it was part of our empire.
Taking their gold is not something we can deny but that's what happens when countries conquer each other, that's not why they're in the shitter today. The roman empire also took tons and tons of silver from Iberia back then, and the french and english pillaged the shit out of this country when Napoleon was invading, etc, and we don't cling to that claiming that's where our current problems stem from. We blame the politics we have today, like our prime minister from 10 years ago which pocketed many millions of state funds, and others who made shitty and irresponsible deals with banks which then went bankrupt.
The only thing like that we cling to is that D. SebastiĂŁo, the desired king, will return. He was lost in AlcĂĄcer Quibir but fated to return in a foggy morning when we most needed.
Since we managed to win against Marroco yesterday I guess that prophecy is now complet.
