Everyone has been victim of it during the tournament.
Except for my own country, which really didn't deserve to advance. That I must admit. :getlost:

Hahaha neither did Portugal or Argentina, but alas, luck plays a part in it too
France vs Argentina
Portugal vs Uruguay
Spain vs Russia
Croatia vs Denmark
Belgium vs Japan
Brazil vs Mexico
Sweden vs Switzerland
England vs Colombia
Sweden vs Switzerland seems to be debatable here, the rest we most all agree the outcomes.
I'm going for Sweden, they dominated the closest thing we have for a death group.
I agree on the outcomes. I'd like to be surprised though
Maybe France and Uruguay won't win.
FRA v ARG <–- pulling for FRA so hard, but what if messi's finally awake? ugh...
POR v URU <–- hard to call. slight edge to POR, but upset alert if Ronnie has an off day
SPA v RUS <–- on paper an ez pick, but upset alert because SPA's already stumbled and RUS's got home-town adv
CRO v DEN
BEL v JPN
BRA v MEX <–- gonna go with my heart not my head, but MEX is gonna need a dramatic turn-around after that last grp stage catastrophe
SWE v SWI
ENG v COL <–- feel like ENG's trending down and COL's trending up at exactly the wrong time for the three lions...coin flip for me
Fra- Arg
Por- Uru
Spa- Rus
cro- Den
Bel- Jpn
Bra- Mex
Swe-Swi
Eng-Col
Fra - Arg / I wish both teams could loose here, hate both teams. I guess my resentment for Arg is stronger, though
Por - Uru / Please send CR7 to jail early lol
Spa - Rus / Once again, I wish both teams could loose… In favor of the underdog here
Cro - Den / Obvious one
Bel - Jpn / Obvious one
Bra - Mex / As much as I would like for Mex to win, they don't hold a candle to established teams
Swe - Swi / Sverige! Sverige! Sverige!
Eng - Col / Eng's got this
Bra - Mex / As much as I would like for Mex to win, they don't hold a candle to established teams
Except for our own country.
Por - Uru / Please send CR7 to jail early lol
Yeh, I really don't like him. That guy has more than 100million euros hidden in foreign banks. And he's also a very narcissistic person.
@Big:
Except for our own country.
Hahaha touché :D I should correct myself and say "established teams that play like a coherent unit and to their strengths".
Edit: Sick goal by di Maria, I must admit that.
well that's a decent match so far
It's a freakin' great match so far.

First time I find myself actually enjoying parts of a game in this world cup. Except for all the diving and acting, fck that sht.
That second French goal was delightful
VIVA LA FRANCE! Pls Pls Pls send Messi home!
FFFFFFFRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm very pleased by this turn of events
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees hahahahahaha france on fire
the two finalist from Brazil 2014 are gone so far.
i can't believe messi missed that chance in the 85th 0_0
EDIT: well aguero didn't miss that one. 4-3….squeaky bum time...
Congratulations France! Probably the best game so far in this World Cup.
oh thanks it didn't get too dramatic with a last minute draw, Argentina needed to die here.
By far the best game in the entire world cup so far. Argentina got so freaking dirty in the end, deserved at least 2-3 additional cards against them. Diving and playing dirty is about what they amount to in the end, thus, a well deserved win for France.
Mbappe worth every penny PSG paid for him. I still wonder how argentina can afford to keep players like aguero and higuain on the bench.
Goddammit. I just had to miss the best game in the tournament thus far :(
That perfectly smooth volley for 2-2 is surely a contender for goal of the tournament.
He'll never hit a sweeter shot in his life.
Woah, Uruguay!
Let's hope this game's on fire like the on we saw before today.
oh man, cannot find a channel transmitting Port vs Uru, :(

You take any language? German Public Broadcaster shows it. ^^
Edit: Most stupid post by me. Don't know if that's even available in your country. Now crucify me for my dumbness.

Come from Mexico, online would work but I only have my cell phone at the moment.
Nice try Suarez… :getlost:

donno if you've found something that works, but have you tried an app called navixsport? you mentioned you had your phone, so.
Portugal just equalised! :ninja:
Goal by Pepe after a corner. Well, I think this game won't disappoint too.
Far more interesting at 1-1
EDIT: WOW, cut OPEN. what a counter-attack. keeper, no chance. boo
Damn it, those two games are really something, aren't they?
@Big:

They are! But I'm not quite as pleased w/ this one as the first at the moment….lol
EDIT: well there goes my chance to predict things 100%. still would've picked FRA over either winner tho.
I feel bad for Ronaldo, but Uruguay was just a really good defensive team.
Cavani is the kind of chap that could steal my girl in the blink of an eye
Good day for me! 2/2 in my predictions for the K.O. games and both Messi & Ronaldo are out. If I didn't stay home to watch the games I might have found my soulmate at the bar today lol
Oh well, we did good in the last match. Unlike in the group stage. Could have been worse, although I had some hope for a victory today. France still looks like a far stronger contender than either Portugal or Uruguay, though. I liked seeing Uruguay so far. Best of lucks for them, if there is anyone from there here in AP!
impressed Messi and Ronaldo are meeting…. at the airport tho.
Meanwhile England is still in the series! Just waiting on who the next opponent is
Hahahah the spanish thought they had a clear path to the final after topping the group. My, my, this has been a fun and surprising World Cup and it just keeps going
Man, I'm heartbroken.
France sold their soul to the devil as to never play against Ronaldo, even if we had won he still saw his second yellow card and would miss the quarter-finals.
I was hoping for a euro final rematch, I know we didn't have Éder this time but I still believed.
I can never put the same excitement in the games after Portugal gets kickd out but I'll try to follow and cheer for Brazil, since they're our language brothers, for Japan, cause they deserve it, they got through the group stage because of their fair play, you gotta respect that, and Croatia, since they're a bit of the underdog doing a great cup so far.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to start preparing for Euro 2020.
Would you say Fernando Santos is still the man to prepare the team for Euro 2020? I think it's probably time to renew the team profoundly and he is not the most likely person for that. This is the closing of a whole generation, just like after the 2006 World Cup, when Figo, Rui Costa, Pauleta, etc. all left the team. I think Pepe, Fonte, Bruno Alves, Quaresma, a bunch of older goalkeepers and a few others are going to leave the national team after this. It will be a tough process and I think a new coach is needed. Maybe… it's time for Jesus to take charge?
Yeah, most of our players over 30 will probably retire. I mean, Quaresma doesn't even play the full game anymore because he doesn't have the stamina to keep it up.
The exception being Ronaldo because that guy is not human, he'll probably play the next world cup.
As for Fernando Santos getting a replacement too, maybe.
His tactics worked well on the Euro, not as well this time around. He seemed to try and keep his original tactic for as long as possible instead of making quicker changes.
JJ coaching the national team could work, despite his last seasons in Sporting not being as stellar as his seasons in Benfica (though the state each team was in/is now also played a part), he's a good man for the job. I still hold the dream of having Mourinho train the Selecção, altough I guess his last seasons were also not his best.
So sad for Denmark, they almost had it. Anyways, 4/4 in my prectictions atm.
Yeah, I kinda got over Mourinho a few years ago. He has been pretty disappointing ever since his final Real Madrid season. A shame, but I think he's not the right man. JJ seems like a guy who can shake things up and implement a new style and help bring in a new generation. Either him or the under-21 coach, who has done a great job in the younger sides.
This Croatia v Denmark had to be a bottom-3 match in this tournament. What a drag to watch, cheesus crust. That ending penalty shoot out was fun though. Why did I have to miss the France v Argentina instead of this one? Grr. Croatia was a big big disappointment, I was expecting a heck of a match from a team who was one of the best in the group stage. Massive let down.
The penalty shoot out was crazy to watch , most fun/stress I have had in quite some time with football
Sad to see Spain go , but the Russian strategy to play for penalties paid off.
I'm ready for Mexico to have the greatest luck in the world, ((crosses fingers in both hands… and feet))
