The Salvaor Dali sequence is pretty neat too though it's… kinda freaky. I understand why it didn't make make it to the movie proper.
It's Dali. Of course it's freaky.

Here's the teaser for the Live Action Kim Possible movie that aired during Freaky Friday today.
Vanellope hanging out with the princesses actually looks like it could be fun.
W can't understand her, she's from the other studio."
Just…. how much are they going to break the fourth wall here?
And we have all the princesses in modern casual clothes. So that's going to be a clothes line and a new set of dolls and a launching board for even more of that?
Is Ralph even doing anything in this movie that has his name in the title?
Is Ralph even doing anything in this movie that has his name in the title?
Well, he goes the Internet and, presumably, he's going to break it at some point.
Oh, and he traumatizes a little girl by making a bunny explode.
Well here's hoping he's in it more, but at the moment it looks like they're just pushing Vanellope more because she's more popular.
More Live Action Kim Possible movie news. Christy Carlson Romano (Kim of the tv series) got a unannounced role for the movie. Also Patton Oswalt (Dr. Dementor on the tv series) got a unannounced role as well.

I'm going to guess Christy is going to be Dr. Director, the leader of the K.P.'s Universe of SHIELD. For Patton, I'm guessing he's going to be Dr. Dementor in the movie.
First look at Liu Yi Fei as Mulan:
She looks fabulous. Now put Shang back in.
Is Mushu still in? I forgot. He would probably look like shit.
So, I recently discovered that Disney actually continued their legacy collection sountracks and released a ROBIN HOOD soundtrack. I was upset that no one told me about this a year ago, but I got it immediately. All the instumentals, all the songs, a few demo reels of alternate versions of the songs, and then the REALLY WEIRD THING.
Apparently back in 1973, when Disney released Robin Hood, Louis Prima (King Louie in Jungle Book) was upset that he wasn't asked to play a part in Robin Hood, even though Phil Harris (Baloo/Little John) was. (Somehow ignoring Aristocats which came out between them.)
How upset was he? He personally funded and created an entire album where King Louie meets Robin Hood and then sold the finished product to Disney and they released it in 74.
That's… a really crazy kind of upset.
Listening to the songs on it, its like "were these spiteful? These might be spiteful. Or maybe well intentioned. But maybe spiteful.
I'm hearing of its existence for the first time , and it's... interesting. The entire album is just kind of... what?

She should probably play Kim's mom. She's 34, which is maybe too young to have a 16 year old daughter, but in movie world she can easily fudge 40, especially if they put her hair up or something.
Wow the content and background context of that song are so bizarre, lol :D

Eh, I dunno. Maybe the TaleSpin versions of the characters could cross over.
Hmm, strangely I just had the realization that TaleSpin is, by extension, an adaptation of a Rudyard Kipling novel.
The part where he goes "Do you remember me from Jungle Book? King Louie oooe oooh oee? " is just… sad in context.
And then it turns into bizarro fanfic that just... what?
But bizarro fanfic is how we eventually got Tale Spin so....
Eh, I dunno. Maybe the TaleSpin versions of the characters could cross over.
I'd think they'd be ancient history in the TS universe.
What I want to know is if it's history in Zootopia. Cause Nick is very very clearly the spiritual, if not actual, descendant of Robin.
That whole weird scenario just makes me think of Tito Puente's hate song for Burns.
And Robin Hood couldn't be part of the Zootopia world since it's England and there are dogs and cats. According to the people who made it, domesticated animals aren't really supposed to exist in the Zootopia universe despite the sheep and pigs in it.
That and it's a play in-universe.
I'd think they'd be ancient history in the TS universe.
That's why God created time portals.
Anyway, sorry Louie, but Disney had to dump you for Roger Miller.
I don't think anything is ever going to beat the Mulan one, but…
and the Mulan one cause its beena while.

You could say that Robin Hood was a stage play put on in the world of Utopia, and the dogs were just a disguise. Fantasy creatures, like dragons and unicorns and such.
Geez. Are they really going to have Michael go through literally the EXACT same plot arc as his father down to exact lines of dialogue and kite metaphors? That's… disappointing.
Well, they've got Lin Manuel Miranda. And they've got Dick Van Dyke to do a cameo in what will probably be his final role. So that's something.
The real question is going to be... How's the music?

How's the music?
Yeah, that part is kinda stupid, but . . . it FEELS magical? It's a little different though, seeing as Michael's wife died.
Hard to judge what the music is like when all you get is a little BGM, but I'm ready to give it a chance when they go into a HAND-DRAWN animated world.
Apparently, there were three other Banks children in the books (John, Barbara, and Annabel) and Michael's children are named after two of them. Barbara didn't make the cut, because…I guess they just wanted to give Michael another son.
Anyway, trailer looks nice, but still not really sure what to expect.
I don't think anyone is. It's really hard to imagine anyone but Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins.
Did Disney just rickroll us?
! So, it's clear the main character drama of the film is going to be Venelope wanting to stay and be a badass racer and hang out with princesses and have a good time… away from Ralph.
! The obvious typical Disney resolution is that she'll give it all up to stay with him anyway or he'll find something that makes him happy in the internet.
! But I think it'd be sweeter and stronger if they actually do part ways at the end like actual friends often do when life takes them in different directions. That'd be the stronger, more lesson teaching, more honest route.... but probably not where they're gonna go with it.

applauds Well done, Disney. What's even better is that the song somewhat fits the theme of the trailer.
Also, LOL, ReditCards.

! I do like that there is an honest reason for Ralph and Vanellope traveling the internet (other than being "fun"), but Vanellope leaving wouldn't just mean leaving Ralph, she'd be leaving her whole game behind. A game that she is a very big part of.
! However, if she does decide to stay, she and Ralph could do what all friends do, and use the internet to stay in touch so they don't lose their friendship.

! Well, she was missing from that game for years and no one noticed… and given the context it seems like her game is a boring old racer compared to modern new ones. But I'm sure that'll come up/
! Like I said, I'm hard pressed to see a Disney film NOT going the route of her leaving all the cool new stuff to go back home... but growing up and moving on would be the stronger move.

! That was the type of route I was hoping a lot for in Coco. So I agree about wishing we could finally get a Disney movie like that.
! However, I can forgive Disney repeating the same "home is where you belong" shtick if they will apparently focus on Ralph's self-esteem insecurities and have the balls to make parallels between Vanellope and Turbo in the first movie's lore. Turning the optimistic moral of the last film on its head is already ballsy for Disney, but making an accurate parallel between one of the protagonists and a villain would be so damn refreshing. Which is also something that could have been done in a more interesting version of Coco where Ernesto de la Cruz really was Miguel's grandfather while also being a music thief murderer instead of predictably being related to the slightly selfish but truly good guy he's been partnering with, but I digress.

Didn’t they just start demolishing the ride for this at Magic Kingdom?
Why not just admit you're making a live action version of your entire animated canon, Disney?
Why not just admit you're making a live action version of your entire animated canon, Disney?
Because they're not going to do things like Song of the South, Black Cauldron, Atlantis,Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, or that thing with Roseanne as a cow.
They probably also aren't going to get around to Oliver and Company, Aristocats, Fox and the Hound or things like that anytime soon unless every one of these continues to make like 700 million+.
Rescuers I don't know. That was always a franchise that should have been a franchise, but then they gave its tv series to Chip and Dale ad I'd have to think they'd be more inclined to push the RR version.
I can't imagine any world where a live action Emporer's New Groove makes any sense. The Nightmare Before Christmas is probably untouchable. I would kill to see them try to do Goofy Movie live however.
I'm amazed Snow WHite and Pinnochio aren't on the docket, but live action Pinnochio has been done so….

Does Disney consider NBC part of their animated canon? They financed it, but didn't release it under their name.
And Pinnochio is a classic so it can be remade any number of times people want.

It's in Kingdom Hearts, and prominent in the theme parks. Its not one of the numbered animated films, but they absolutely consider it one of theirs.
I definetely expect emperor new groove to end up in live action. It's a comedy and there isn't any particular part that is difficult to translate.
Isn't song of the south already live action?
They did jungle book and Winnie the pooh so Fox and the hound could easily end up on the docket. I can even see Oliver and company as a jungle book movie where it's animals having fun.
The aristocats is probably the thing that is so empty and not gimmicky enough to make a movie. So I can only see them go there if they are scrapping the barrel and even then they might just make a sequel to an existing movie.

ENG is just a buddy movie with outlandish gags, and probably wouldn't be that hard to make if the tone down so of the more cartoony bits. They won't remake it because there's no promise that enough people love the original to see a remake (it didn't even make its budget back at the box office). That's the same reason they won't remake most of the other films you mention because they're not promised to make a half of a billion dollars globally, especially when many of them have heavy animal casts that need to be animate. If they're aren't going remake Bambi, which they consider a classic, they aren't going to remake Fox and the Hound nor the Rescuers.

Part live action, part animated.
They remade Pete's Dragon and are doing a sequel to Mary Poppins, so.
ENG is just a buddy movie with outlandish gags,
The outlandish gags are what made it good. Take that away and you have nothing.
If they're aren't going remake Bambi,
Pretty sure that is on the agenda.

Eh, lot of the humor was dialogue based to begin with ("Tell us where the talking llama is and we'll burn your house to the ground") and what wouldn't work can be changed. Look at what they did to The Jungle Book, it's not even close to a straight remake and the tone is shifted entirely. Yet it still grossed almost a billion. So, similar things (though perhaps not as extreme) could happen to an ENG remake, if Disney thought there was any money in it.

Live action Jungle Book was awful. They took away everything that worked and ended up with nothing.
I coulda sworn it was announced. Maybe I'm thinking of Dumbo. Or Lion King.
It'll come around if either of those remakes do well.

Fabulous. Makes me wish for more hand-drawn animation. AGAIN.

I know Disney wants to make a Zootopia sequel, but I would love for them to make a series of Judy and Nick's police adventures. Whether in shorts or an actual tv series.

yes! yes! i would love to see that.
Cautiously optimistic, though if its just another scene for scene, line for line remake like B&tB, minus all the charm (and Robin Williams) what'll be the point?
Those are definitely very, very familiar music cues. I'm not sure I can deal with Will Smith doing Friend Like Me.
Sounds like Frank Welker is still doing the Cave of Wonders, so there is that. (And if Abu and Rajah are in the movie he's doing those too naturally. Do we know if the animals are in it? No one can be Iago but Gilbert Gottfried, but he's not credited anywhere)
I still think it's really awkward having a black actor play the "slave of the lamp," especially if Smith is the only prominent one we see.
I suspect Iago is there (we do see a macaw in the trailer), but in a reduced capacity. I think I've read something that said the head of the palace guards is supposed to be Jafar's right hand man, which would make Iago less important because now Jafar has someone else to elaborate his plans to. Same with Jasmine and Rajah because she's getting a handmaiden. Who knows about Abu.
it is important for Lucasfilm that their audience doesn't see him as a spineless and whiny weakling with daddy issues.
The time to worry about that would have four years ago.
So there ya go. Danny DeVito gave up Detective Pikachu to be in this.
I see Timothy the mouse, but it doesn't look like he's the one helping Dumbo, he's just there. If it's not Timothy the mouse, and I don't see the crows, it's not Dumbo. Kids never helped Dumbo.
On some level, I hope that Danny Devito's only role in this movie is him staring at things and reacting to scenes of the movie.
