16 would shed a tear if he had that functionality
and wasn't fucking dead still
Was he ever “alive” in the first place?

OK, the reason we were given for 16 to stay dead is that he wasn't alive, but when the dragon rebuilds earth he returned everything back the way it was, no market crash, no lost data on books or computers, no mysterious "blank century" caused by a catastrophe that destroyed everything and was magically rebuilt with a shody wish.
So even if 16 wouldn't count as being revived, and they have rebuilt clothes and items for free before, the dragons could easily rebuild him as he was just before cell blew him up. They just didn't care.
Toriyama really didn't consider that phrasing for the wish. "He can't be brought back because he's technically not alive" is fine if you don't think about it much.
It's kind of like Vegeta and Nappa not being able to be affected by the dragon in the Saiyan Saga. What about asking the Saiyans' spaceships to be affected and malfunction in space? I guess that rule could apply to anything related to them, but it still has this as a potential loophole.
Also, if characters stronger than the dragon's creator can't be affected, how could Goku or at this point any character be brought back? All of the cast was more powerful than Kami and currently, Dende and when it comes to the Namekian Dragon Balls, the Namekian elder, as well.
I mean it could be in terms of magical power since magic and Ki are different, but I don't remember that being explained. I guess it's something that is easy to conclude, but addressing it would've been nice (again, unless the story did and I just don't remember).
Geez, the plotting of this story is a mess.
I forgot about the stronger than the maker of the Dragonballs plot. But wasn't that in relation to doing something against the target's will? Like Goku coulda been wished back but he said "no."

It was also brought up as an excuse for why Vegeta and Nappa couldn't be dealt with by the Dragon Balls.

No worse than Goku forgetting to ask Shenron to resurrect King Kai.
No worse than Goku forgetting to ask Shenron to resurrect King Kai.
King kai exist. And as goku has pointed out, there is no difference shown between him being alive or dead. He was already in the afterlife, it is not like he can't eat or that he had functions besides training one warrior every thousand years and complain about the the tyrant who brought down the number of viable worlds to 28.

Why wasn't he resurrect together with the other people at the end of the Cell saga again?

Because he was technically killed by Goku and not Cell, I guess
Because he was technically killed by Goku and not Cell, I guess
The wording was to "revive the ones killed by Cell", eh?
There was a silent "on earth" there.
So King Kai wasn't down-to-earth enough?

True but if it wasn't a big deal he wouldn't keep wondering if Goku is actually going to wish him back to life.
Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black got revealed for Dragon Ball Fighter Z.

the dynamic kills are pretty great
I hope we can get stuff like YOU FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL and BUT I'M PERFEEEEEEEEEEEEEECT
I hope we can get stuff like YOU FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Only if it involves someone botching the answer to a question before hand.
I am going to make a guess and predict that Frieza will go after Dyspo but will be saved by Jiren who will ring him out.
Frieza in a wig for next Fighterz reveal please!
I'm unabashedly glad about Beerus in Fighterz. I honestly think that he is one of Toriyama's best characters.
I'm pretty cool with Hit because, despite his bland Pikkon 2.0 personality, he has a cool fighting style/stance.
Aaaand as lame as Goku Black is, I'm not too unhappy with him either because he's got that pink hair and Zamasu assists.
But seriously please give me Tao, Roshi and Kid Goku. I want original Dragonball love!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, does anyone else besides me already have their FighterZ team(s) picked out?
I wanna do a Alien theme of Piccolo, Frieza, and Fat Buu
a Human team of Tien, Yamucha, and Krillin
a Z fighters auxillry team of Krillin, Piccolo, and 18
and a Villain team of Frieza, Cell and Nappa
Ahhh they've gone back to the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 artstyle!!! I might actually get this, it looks good.
Beerus is the last of the obvious inclusions in my list, so anyone else will be a surprise for me.
Not a fan of Hit, but any inclusion who is not Bardock I'm fine with. I didn't watch/read the Goku Black arc so I don't really know the characters, but he is just Zamasu in Goku's body, right? If so, would have preferred regular Zamasu just to not repeat Goku's looks (apparently he is in as a "move character" like #17 - who I still hope will become a full fledged playable character in a DLC - and Chiaotzu).
Roster is perfect for me now due to these three getting in, especially Black.
Perfection would be adding in Mr. Popo.
Ah… Mr. Popo can stay in the background where he belongs :P
I think that Zamasu would be a better choice than Goku Black primarily because the former has all of the unique abilities the latter has minus immortality and Goku's techniques. And he can have power-up in battle of fusing with Black to become Merged Zamasu (which looks a bit cool with the back halo and everything), which would require little modeling work. I can't see a playable Goku Black doing the same thing because a whole new model with playable animations would have to be made for Merged Zamasu.

You've got it backwards. Zamasu has the immortality and Goku Black does not.

Oh wait, of course lol. Goes to show how impressionable Zamasu was.
Zamasu doesn't have stuff like the scythe, the ability to make clones, that one attack that looks like he's using the Needler from Halo, etc.
eh, Dragon Ball is no stranger to having multiple slots for different variants of the same person.
Looking at you Tenkaichi 3.

You know I havent heard people say that but when I think about it Its hard to find a consensus.
Could you briefly go more deeply into why you like him a lot?
What if it's the entire Tournament of Power condensed?
So it'll be a movie about Yamoshi? That'd be pretty cool.
[Generic whining about how it'll never be good before it's even out.]
It's a Yamoshi movie, probably. Too easy of a tidbit to not take advantage of. Could actually be really good.
Hopefully it'll take notes from the Bardock-Chilled special on how not to do Super Saiyan.
Here is my character wishlist for Dragonball FighterZ(A One Piece Arc System Works Fighting like Dragonball Fighterz would be Awesome)
Dragonball:
Kid Goku
Master Roshi
Giran
Bacterian
Arale(Dr.Slump)
General Tao
DBZ:
Vegito
Dabura
DBSuper:
Magetta
Jaco
Frost
Movies:
Cooler
Janemba

Hey at least he didn't bulk up like a motherfucker and get greenish yellowish hair out of the deal :S

Or randomly appear on Earth and scream Kakarot with no sense of knowing who he is anymore, or be reborn as slime…
The only DB movie I need is a chronicle of Mutenroshi's rise to power, meeting Mutaito, Karin journeying through the world and ending with the training of old Gohan. But since the chances of it happening are 0, I might check out the Yamoshi one.
What if it's the entire Tournament of Power condensed?
How you will condense a 45 minutes long tournament into one single 60 or 90 minutes movie?
How you will condense a 45 minutes long tournament into one single 60 or 90 minutes movie?
By including the recruitment part and aftermath.
Chapter 31!
Would you look at that, my new favourite Super chapter.
That condensed some of episode 84, 86 and 87 into one nice chapter. Nothing much new outside the Mr. Satan stuff, but I really liked the addition about Krillin asking to remove the bombs from the androids. I wish the anime would've brought that up to emphasize their character arcs.
Still no Krillin, Gohan and Hit two-parter stuff, but this is like the most characterization the manga has given anyone outside of Vegeta.
The Krillin and Gohan stuff was the strongest in all the lead-up. I hope at least the characterization content is kept the same, if none of the material from the two-parters makes it in. Gohan didn't have any new wake-up calls and not even the Exhibition Match in the manga, so that'll automatically make his stuff less natural. Basically having no setup to anything is one of the big flaws of the manga to me.
Krillin getting back into fighting was also a pretty big character moment. The fact that most of the cast had nothing on their status quo before this is jarring, but I hope Toyotaro continues like this.
Boring chapter was boring… Show me something new like the other Universes preperations. At least we got to see Oob.
The fun part is pinpointing Toriyama's outline.
68-76 really was "filler". But… at the same time it did great in fleshing out the characters by bringing back their bonds, setting up character arcs and plain just making us care by having fun.
Goku went to ask for the tournament. The only commonality in the Exhibition Match was Goku vs. Toppo and Grand Priest explaining the rules. But the anime actually focused on characters that were more relevant.
Bra's birth, the Krillin and 18 scene, the mention of Uub, Buu falling asleep, Goku visiting 17 and Piccolo wanting to train up Gohan is the same. Which means Krillin's little arc of picking up Martial Arts again might be shat on later. I'd like if he'd learned and worked on his weaknesses, though. Losses are always great springboards for further development.
Oh and the manga definitely has the Time Chamber plothole considering Vegeta never destroyed it, unless they do change it up and bring it up/use it.
I love that FighterZ trailer. Really well put together.
The "Purple Jelly Vegeta" arc of Super just started in the Dub and Purple Jelly Vegeta is voiced by Brian Drummond.
Goddamn.

Even I didn't expect that to be the voice of Copy Vegeta. It's great to hear Brian Drummond to voice Vegeta again in some form.
Episode 120!
That was definitely much more fun than last week.
There were some good action shots and the characters didn't feel like one single character throughout it. I continue to love 17's awareness of Shounen/anime rules.
I also liked the small team-up moment between Goku, Gohan and Vegeta. See, they can do strategy if they want to. I like that Beerus actually praised Gohan by using his name, too.
The huge U3 fusion next week bothers me like Nigrishi's design did - the face looks kinda wierd. But fun episode. Nothing amazing, still, but fun.
