Shin kills 3-4 Generals/Great Generals in this battle?
It was more 2-3, and I am not considering Kisui a great general, neither I am Houken, because he is just a good fighter. Again he would need to have learned how to command troops to make him a threat again. But so far, he has become a stepping stone. The Batei/Houken is an either/or thought.
! No, its this campaign (in 236 BC) that Ye/Gyu is captured.
Historically Yotanwah/Kanki are credited, so probably Ousen is just holding the Zhao main armies busy.
! This interestingly means that Yotanwah ends somehow back at Gyou, despite it being specially mentioned in the recent chapter, that the Zhao job is not merely to repel her army, but dont let her interfer in the main battle (did they forgot that even the main battle is just being hold to keep the Zhao away from Gyou// Qin away from the siege of Gyou?)
! I hope the arc ends somewhat balanced, with Ousen losing the battle but achieving his overarching goal of taking Gyou; while Yotanwah may lose her fight but then ends helping take Goyu. I'm also not really a fan of yet again a large number of Zhao commanders being killed by our heroes like many seem to hope for. We need them for the many future Zhao arcs and it would be annoying to have always again new faces coming out of noway.
! As i have stated before, I am not acquainted with history surrounding these events. With that being said, I am expecting the author to deviate from the actual occurrences as the story progresses further to its finale. So when I comment, I am strictly looking at it from a point of view of what we have been shown in the manga, and some plots and themes which were present. I find that the speech given from Ei Sei to the three young commanders has to unveil in this arc. Not only surviving, but acquiring achievements that will make each of them generals. The easiest route for that is for each to take down a general. Of course, I put Shin achieving even further than one general kill.
! Currently there are ten commanding officers in Zhao's side. Kisui, Batei, Fuutei, Kain, Riboku, Old Zhao general deputy #1, Old Zhao General deputy #2, Keisha's deputy #1, Keisha's deputy #2 and Banana-ji. Talking about the ones fighting Ou Sen. Thinking that only the young commanders take generals head, even with my overestimation that would be 5 out of 10. Which is not a lot, and then the other 5 can be joined in future wars against Zhao.
! My question is, for how long will the author prolong the manga. At his current pace, getting over 1000 chapters seems very likely. As Hajro mentioned, it seems that the capturing of Gyou were two campaigns, with the cities being captured first, and then Gyou. Then we would need another campaign for Zhao's capital. I am not saying that it is impossible, but that is going to be several chapters worth, and no state has fallen yet. Not counting the one that has proposed surrendering.
! So thinking that the author wants to finish the manga at a decent pace, Zhao's conquest could be within two arcs. The conquest of Gyou and then the capital. Again, I don't know about history so I am not sure what other events the author might want to explore, but there is a clear time limit for the unification to be achieved.
Ugh, seems like I cannot avoid making long posts.
