Part 1. END!

Norman's keikaku unedged Ray, no longer he's Sasuke he's Naruto now
-
Ray's internal conversation with Norman reminded me of this moment from the "We Fight Together" intro. Now I really wish that moment had happened in the manga.
-
When is the next chapter I NEEEEEED it
-
It's in Jump, right? Probably not 'til next week. :(
Yeah, the last chapter really left me hanging on a cliff.

Nope. Golden Week.

Chapter 37 - RAW Here
-
Nice chapter, great ending for the escape arc, guess this might have been the ending if TPN had been axed. Thank the manga gods for that not to be the case.^^
-
For those who don't read Japanese, know this:
! Ray is MAMA'S baby!!
-
For those who don't read Japanese, know this:
! Ray is MAMA'S baby!!
! Better than the baby of Krone… by the way phil is krones baby...:ninja::ninja:
-
! Goddamn. That was beautiful. I always suspected that Mama might actually want the best for her children… it's understandable that she was so cynical considering her upbringing. Glad that she sent them off so well and that she told Phil that his siblings were safe.
Great finale! :'3
-
That was wonderful!
Can't wait to see what the next "season" has in store.
-
Perfect end for this first part.
Can we get an anime adaptation of this part soon ? IMO, this manga is perfect for a very early adaptation. A great and obvious ending point after only 37 chapters is perfect for a 1-cour adaptation. -
I'm truly fascinated by the fact how incredibly fun (in the sense of enjoying to read the series, not to see children getting slaughtered) and interesting Promised Neverland actually is. Charismatic characters, exciting story and hella lot potential. If the author decides to change the series to a more adventure/action oriented one, I just hope that he keeps up this level of storytelling.
-
Chapter was amazing.
-
This could be an ending point for the series, next chapter reveal the purpose of the pen, and timeskip to the point they come back to save the next generation, with the plottiwst that they are practically saved already by themselves. I hope that what they continue the series with keeps on being better and better.
-
This chapter felt like Dragon Head when the kids finally leave the tunnel, so I was expecting it to end with
! a devastated landscape and the kids having a horrified expression in their faces. Less of "a new start" and more of "could we go back to ignorance?" kind of thing..
I still think it is going to follow that in a sense, so I hope we don't get a timeskip.
-
I was kind of expecting that they find another huger gap.
-
! could this be leslie all grown up http://readms.net/r/neverland/021/3925/13
Would go with the they still need males thing -
Also I read this while series in 2 days sure is gripping though

Netflix Original live action adaptation TV drama series of the Part one: Escape
-
I can't see that working out well, because 1) Death Note doesn't look good so far and 2) even if Death Note ends up being good: for Neverland they'd either have to hire a lot of really good child actors, or change quite a lot in addition to the age of the main cast to keep things consistent (i.e. I can't see late-teens Norman and Ray being physically weaker than Isabella).
I'm not sure if you're just being sarcastic, though.
-
One season is perfectly doable, and you only need 5 regulars for the eldest kids, + connie and phil from a lower age, and 3 flashback kids.
-
I'll pretend this was the last chapter if the series gets weaker from here.
-
That's what I do what Naruto. Story after Tsunade arc? What's that?
-
Chapter 38 raw.
-
The plot thickens . . .
-
I kind of figured that Ray was Mama's child. I don't think she would have given such special accommodations for anyone else. Plus, they seemed very similar in personality, even though it was much more subtle with Isabella.

I'm starting to wonder… instead of demons or whatever alien beings didn't take over Earth, but instead, humans were abducted to an alien world.

I'm starting to wonder… instead of demons or whatever alien beings didn't take over Earth, but instead, humans were abducted to an alien world.
I don't think that's likely. All of the demons have been shown to be wearing some kind of breathing equipment, while no humans have been shown with any such equipment, which means that the atmosphere is perfectly viable for humans, while toxic or incompatible for the demons. It's unlikely they would have relocated humanity offworld to another Earth-like planet, and even more unlikely they would need aid to breathe on their homeworld. Additionally, only 30 years have passed since the invasion/summoning/whatever happened, and the technology we've seen on the plantation (minus the testing tech, which is advanced) seems to be 80's-modern era. It's far more likely that either the demon/alien homeworld is distant enough to force them to stay long term, or is inaccessible for unknown reasons. While it's possible they may be in the slow process of terraforming Earth to mimic their place of origin, we'll have to see more of the outside world first before we can speculate on that.
-
The forest and the farm might be in a dome with earth like conditions to force them into suits. It is way too early to tell anything though. We have to trust the narrator to have even the year.

It's the Seducing Woods all over again.

That actually would be great… sounds like Predator just in a much better way...
-
Seems like i have read getting lost in a forest so many times, but here i totally dig it.
The world they are now encountering is a total mystery and i wonder what dangers they have to face beside surviving in the wilderness with little kids while being chased by brain-eating aliens^^ -

It's the Seducing Woods all over again.
Reminds me more of adventures in Upper Yard with all the huge twisting trees.
This series is great because I legitimately have no idea what to expect next.
-
Is there already a resistance with Minerva as the center? Are there other humans? Or are ther even probably good Demons/Aliens? The possiblities are endless
-
Like the best serial stories, it keeps you on your toes.
-
I doubt the demons were able to get to the kids this soon. Something else is afoot. I imagine the forest is filled with some hostile creatures to coincide with the unusual territory.
-
I'm starting to wonder… instead of demons or whatever alien beings didn't take over Earth, but instead, humans were abducted to an alien world.
I also think that's a possibility to consider, especially since the vegetation surrounding the "farms" doesn't seem that of the Earth we know.

@Fire Fist:
While it's possible they may be in the slow process of terraforming Earth to mimic their place of origin, we'll have to see more of the outside world first before we can speculate on that.
Only few of the demons have been shown to wear some tubes from the mouth, in the first chapter one of them actually opened his mouth showing his tongue tempted to eat Conny's body, that means either that only few of them need the breathing mask or either the tubes that some of them wear are just part of their actual bodies. Even at the demons reunion double spread only one or 2 of them have it, while we can see there are various species of them of different forms, why would the demons hold their reunion in an unsustainable atmosphere for them? and why only some of them would wear it if that would be the case? That only enforce the hypothesis that the tubes are part of their bodies and they are not wearing any mask.
As for the absence of tech in the plantation i think that's just a preventive measure of control. They have to raise very intelligent children after all, as smart as possible in order that their brain be more delicious for them. As Ray showed even the simplest electronic devices can be used to their advantage. Imagine what they could have done with everything we have today.

ch 39
http://readms.net/r/neverland/039/4280/1
well, the mangakas duo weren't lying when they said this will turn into an adventure fantasy series after the escape arc
-
Reminds me of that Meat-Eating Island from Life of Pi.
-
Yeah, this is really cool. I'm digging the turn that the story is making, and I really love the tie in to mysteries from the previous arc. God, I love this series.
-
The question is, the world is this wild just because, or this is another safety measure from the demons to keep weird predators or rescuers at bay?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It keeps them alive? Yeah, ideal for escaped cattle.
-
So, now they litearly have begun their search for their Promised (never)land. Just like in the biblical and hebrew tale Moses escaped with all the Israelites from the enslavament by the Egyptians, leading them to the Promised Land that Yahweh had revealed to Moses, the group of children is led by 2 children who have vague signs of the existence of a peaceful place and an ally, though there are only morse codes by the mysterious Mr. Minerva.
I'm loving this series more and more, but now that mama Isabella has been taken out of the picture and the plot went through a change i wonder if the series will remain supported by fans as it has been until now. This is a very crucial point for the series and i hope the authors have a solid idea of what they are doing, they somehow have to keep that atmosphere of impending threat and inescapability that has characterized the plot until now. Not that i'm not liking the recent developements, on the contrary i love it, especially the mystery that surrounds the world, but will all the japanese fan appreciate it? I just hope the series won't get removed from Jump if the popularity decreases.

And hey, it only took Moses & Co. 40 years to find it!

This and Kimetsu are the two young series I bring up as counter argument when someone (who is probably at least a decade younger than me, pretending to wear rose-tinted glasses lol) makes a claim that WSJ has fallen from the grace and no longer interesting.
