Just Rainbow Greninja like in some leaks lol
Pokemon Ultra S&M - Let's Minecraft Pikachu and Eevee Quest
-
-
That they chose to name it Ash-Greninja make this even more ridiculous than before.
Dartrix is a emo band singer and to people saying he doesn't look like its probable final evolution, neither did Quilladin.
-
Omg, it finally happened. Don't think I like Brionne as much as Popplio. BUT, it does seem to be going the route of fabulous fairy mermaid, so that in itself is exciting.
I'm expecting a lot of people to go Litten after this trailer. Torracat looks pretty neat, and even if people don't like Lucha Tigre you could probably just leave it as Torracat. Dartrix also looks pretty nice, kinda like a teenager trying to get into being a magician.
Now the question is whether starters do get split evos then…
-
Noqanky is so going to restart the game until he gets a female Popplio XD
-

Possible, though I think my main interest in the re-starting when starting out will be getting the right nature. Also, fixed.
Also, just looked at the descriptions of the middle evos, and all of them have something that leans towards the leaked forms. Dartrix has sick aim (and is snobby to the point it leaves battle to fix its feathers), Torracat has a love for battle and has super strong punches, and Brionne dances with bubbles and is the pop star pokemon.
-
Oops, so you are a woman. I learn something new every day. Apologizes.
Yeah, the mid evolutions have got features that lean to what we were told they were going to become: an archer, a wrestler and a siren. Now, if that means the leaked arts were legit is a different story altogether.
-
Dartrix looks like its parents just doesn't understand its art, man.
-
Only realized now that Torracat's bell can burn the grooming hand in Pokémon Refresh.
I don't think the starters have a split evolution like Rockruff, it would have leaked by now otherwise.
-
Dartrix is the best chuunibird. I don't even care if its personality is written as snobbish, because it's already been encoded in my heart as such, and I'm gonna name mine Gundham.
Lucha cat is also pretty amazing. This gen is cruel to make me choose between a lucha and a chuuni, but Dartrix's hairstyle calls out to me.
Brionne is a thing.
Ash-Greninja is a stupid promotion, since they're giving it to you at the start of the game. A fully-evolved Greninja. It won't even be very rewarding to train. Plus calling its form Ash-Greninja is a kind of pandering, and they should really have given it a better name.
Oh yeah, looks like they drove a final nail in the mega evo coffin. 'Relive' mega evolutions, lawl. It's straight up telling us that that was just gen 6 thing.

Pretty ironic for the overlord of ice to be x4 weak to ice :ninja:
also, you're a thing =P
-
Oh yeah, according the Torracat's description, the little ornament around its neck is called a flame sac.
That's gonna get kind of awkward when it moves to belt level.
-
I don't want a muscle kitty man T_T…..
-

Maybe he's just so badass that he claims mastery over his weakness? You can't spoil this for me!
also, you're a thing =P
True.
-
The Boxed-pokemon minigames kinda remind me of Gen IVs Underground. I love it!
-
I hope we're not dropping random Danganronpa spoilers in here.
-
I hope we're not dropping random Danganronpa spoilers in here.
What? Why would any of us do that.
-
They started mentioning Gundham and I don't know what "overlord of ice" refers to yet. It's probably a minor thing so no biggie but I figured I'd try to stop anymore from being said.
Then again for all I know it's a different Gundham.
-
It's no spoiler, it's the best character's base personality.
-
Damn, I really hate all of them. I hate their first and final evos so much that I'll probably box and release, especially since I'll be able to start the game with a Greninja and hopefully get a Rockruff really soon. If their are split evolutions then hope is alive, but I really doubt that there are.
As for their design choices, I think Litten's and Popplio's are pretty obviously going to the imo horrible leaks, but Rowlet's is more clever. One mythology for Robinhood has him as a former aristocrat ousted from power who chooses to fight for the poor. Going along with the dart theme, you have a nobleowl skilled with darts who decides to become an owl archer. I'm not a fan of the execution at all, but I can appreciate the concept.
Ash-Greninja is cool and this isn't the first time one of Ash's pokemon have appeared in the game so I don't see the issue. They've given away pikachu's with Ash as the original trainer a couple times, now.
-
Pikachu's one thing, since it's not literally a new feature. With Greninja, this is an entire other form it gets, some part of its biology and identity as a pokemon. That shouldn't be named for some dude that don't exist.
-
"This is Ash-Greninja"
"Who's Ash?"
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" -
So the owl evolves into Edgeworth?
-
So…..gym battles are no more in this game?
-
@Cyan:
So the owl evolves into Edgeworth?
Holy crap, I just now realized the resemblance.
-
Yes. Island challenges replaces them.
-
So…..gym battles are no more in this game?
They're being replaced with Totem Battles, Trial Captains, and Kahunas.
As for the starters, I like them a lot. They don't feel too different from their predecessors and lead into the third stages nicely.
Brionne's eyes are those of a ruthless killer though. -
Is Battle Bond Greninja's new ability? Because unless the stat changes are excellent I'm going to stick with my lovely Protean Greninja, thanks.
-

Yes, Greninja only changes to Ash-Greninja after fainting a opposing Pokémon too, which reduces its usefulness even further.
-
Btw guys there is an Ice stone now, I guess that is what is used to evolve Vulpix, it's one of those prizes you get in those island mini games with the pokemon apparently, saw it on Gamexplain video.
I wonder if some pokemon will get new evos thanks to this stone, the Sun stone, and the two introduced on 4 gen enabled some pokemon to evolve, I hope this isn't just for Vulpix(and some new pokemon).
-
I figure Eevee will use that stone to go Glaceon, which previously required him to be evolved in a specific location. Then in a parallel, Lefeon can use the leaf stone.
I'm a little surprised that Espeon and Umbereon don't use the sun and moon stones, respectively, yet, so maybe they won't do anything that smart.
-

I don't comprehend the difference at all. If Ash exists as an original trainer for pikachu and those pikachus always reflect anime-ash's moveset, is it really a big leap to have a greninja that reflects anime greninja as well? I don't think so. If you do, ok, but I don't buy the logic.
-
it's okay guys
Ash-Greninja will just get bodied by any Charizard-X
-

The main thing is that these special Pikachus have absolutely no in-game references to the trainer Ash Ketchum. They don't look special, they're not called "Ash's Pikachu" or "Ash-Pikachu", they're just Pikachus with a certain moveset. Whereas Greninja's new form is being named after a trainer that to our knowledge doesn't even exist in that universe, and it looks noticeably different from all the others.
I guess I should clarify further: While these special Pikachus have someone named 'Ash' as their OT, this fact is not visible to the in-game trainers. To them, it's just another Pikachu. But seeing an odd looking Greninja and asking "Why does this one look different?" to be replied to "We call it the Ash-Greninja!", that's an in-game plothole or inconsistency. -
Brionne looks soooo adorable!
Dartrix looks kinda emo
And Torracat looks rather generic imo

But it's not just a Greninja that reflects the anime. Unless I'm missing something, this is a different form and thus functionally a different pokemon. Beyond that, it's even dumber when you consider that the power-up mechanism isn't something exclusive to Ash.

The second form descriptions
! Dartrix
Type: Grass-Flying
The Blade Quill Pokémon Dartrix evolves from Rowlet. Dartrix attacks by throwing its knife-edged feathers, and it possesses extremely sharp senses. This Pokémon can detect opponents behind it and can throw feathers to strike them without even seeing them. This Pokémon cares a great deal about its appearance, grooming its feathers in every spare moment it has.
! Torracat
Type: Fire
The Fire Cat Pokémon Torracat evolves from Litten. This Pokémon produces flames for its attacks from a bell-like sac attached at the base of its throat. Torracat has a great love for battle and will attack relentlessly. Its mane can sense what is going on around it, even in the dark, and is able to detect the presence of hidden enemies.
! Brionne
Type: Water
The Pop Star Pokémon Brionne evolves from Popplio. Brionne can dance in perfect time with others and is always cheery and positive. A very hard worker, Brionne learns dances by imitating other members of its colony and can sometimes even learn dances from humans. As this Pokémon dances, it creates balloons and slaps them into its target, making them explode and deal damage to its opponents.Sounds like Dartrix likes to be fabulous
-
it's okay guys
Ash-Greninja will just get bodied by any Charizard-X
-
I'm getting a real Digimon Savers vibe from gen 7 now.
Also… Mega Eevee next maybe? :O
-
Brionne and Braixen would make wonderful songs together.
-
Ash-Greninja has powered up thanks to the strength of its bonds with Ash. This is the form Greninja takes when it has gained new power due to the miraculous occurrence known as the bond phenomenon. This can be brought on by the bonds between people and Pokémon. It seems that it has only known to have occurred once—several hundred years ago.
This is a excerpt of Ash-Greninja description from the Pokémon Sun and Moon site. I haven't watched the anime since Johto because it is dumb, so I don't know about the bond phenomenon and its lore, but this isn't implying that Ash lived several hundred years ago in the Pokémon games, right?
-
Not really a fan of how the official website sets Dartrix whole personality. It doesn't just give general information like Wimpod's "coward but curious", it describes it in length with all its many quirks, without much room for you to "create" your own.
But anyway, this is irrelevant. What matters is this bit of information on all three mid stages:
Dartrix:
"It’s up to each Trainer to help Dartrix overcome this troublesome stage. If this Pokémon is with a Trainer who helps it through, its strength will grow hugely!"Torracat:
"And yet it sometimes behaves like spoiled child in front of Trainers or Pokémon with whom it has built a relationship of trust."Brionne:
"It’s said that Brionne will only reveal a sad expression to a Pokémon or Trainer to whom it has opened its heart completely."All three descriptions mention exclusive behaviors depending on being close with its trainer. I'm assuming Battle Bond will also be available for them later or something like that, but I'm certain there will be something 'friendship related" regarding the starters (also, both forms of Licanrock mention things it will do only if becomes close to the trainer).
-
*looks at Dartrix
Guys, Dartrix is basically the Eleventh Doctor, right down to the hair right over its right eye
-

No. It's a direct reference to the anime.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
The main thing is that these special Pikachus have absolutely no in-game references to the trainer Ash Ketchum. They don't look special, they're not called "Ash's Pikachu" or "Ash-Pikachu", they're just Pikachus with a certain moveset. But seeing an odd looking Greninja and asking "Why does this one look different?" to be replied to "We call it the Ash-Greninja!", that's an in-game plothole or inconsistency.I think it's sort of silly to act like having the same moves and OT is that much different than having a form based on the anime. That's my take.
-
Dartrix is literally Virion lol.
-
I think it's sort of silly to act like having the same moves and OT is that much different than having a form based on the anime. That's my take.
It's like expecting people in the One Piece manga to know Zephyr. He might exist and be canon but until proven so, if someone said "Hey, he looks like Zephyr!" people would react more in the manner of "who the fuck is Zephyr, am I supposed to know him?". It's a storytelling issue. In the game the form is explained to have its origin in Greninja's strong bond with Ash, so much that it takes on his likeness. But your player character neither looks like him, nor will you have called him/her Ash (probably, anyway). How would anyone know the connection? Whereas these Pikachu's are a nod to the anime for us, not in-game. For in-game people, it's just another Pikachu.
-
I think it's sort of silly to act like having the same moves and OT is that much different than having a form based on the anime. That's my take.
No, this thing literally has a different ability that gives it different powers when it becomes this form, unless Serebii's wrong. It is something that will become a part of Greninja as a competitive pokemon, and remain a part of its identity as a pokemon in general.
I mean this isn't the most important thing, and yeah it's a petty complaint, but it's dumb that they don't just call it Synchro-Greninja or something.
-
Dartrix looks like Sanji haha
Or DiCaprioUrgh i hate ash-greninja.
At least call it something else… -
This is a excerpt of Ash-Greninja description from the Pokémon Sun and Moon site. I haven't watched the anime since Johto because it is dumb, so I don't know about the bond phenomenon and its lore, but this isn't implying that Ash lived several hundred years ago in the Pokémon games, right?
Well the anime is definitely way better than Kanto old stuff, but its not great ,nor will it ever be. No there is no explanation, Greninja is "special", and the strong bond he has with Ash made it happen, Alain(the guy with the Charizard X), noticed it was emitting energy like a mega evo, or something similar, but that is it, that is why I called it Bullshit forme, no explanation, " we don't want to give the kid a mega, so we will give him something like a mega that we made up".
-
So they're literally giving us Ash's Greninja, which makes even less sense because the bond phenomenon was between him and Ash, not us.
These hoes ain't loyal lmao.
-
Now the chinese leaks are pretty much official (minus that art that wasn't included in the batch), why don't we take a good look once more?
