The Ultimate Edition is available on torrent.

Nah, I rather watch it as a stream now…:ninja:
and buy the blu ray when it comes out here.

that jab has to make it's way to deadpool 2 (if anyone still remembers BvS by then).

The Honest Trailer of Batman v Superman is out and it's pretty great (wait till they get to Lex's plan).

I found a theory about the Joker that seems coherent and is absolutely mind-blowing.

Oooooooo.

Oooooooo.
Does this mean you liked the theory? Or, like, found it interesting? I'm confused. XD

I found it interesting.

So some Killing Joke clips have surfaced and everyone is freaking out….and not in the good way.

What's the 411 ? Edit: Nevermind I think I can fashion a guess what people are upset about.

Fucking called it.
And the internet is collectively losing their minds… Personally I don't have a problem with this.

I find it unnecessary but not exactly something to get mad about…

Agreed, I don't mind additions like this. It's an adaptation not a panel by panel recreation.

Apparently people were fine when that was played with in the Timmverse but the minute they played it straight? all hell breaks loose. I mean not even Tim and Barbara hooking up Arkham Knight generated so much butthurt and that was never a thing in any universe.

Timmverse? You referring to what they did in the Batman Beyond comics?

They played with the idea of Barbara having a crush on Batman during a dream sequence in an episode of BTAS. Then Batman Mystery Of Batwoman had a scene with Barbara flustering Bruce with a relative harmless question, he wound up having to play off.
-
Is everyone upset because Batman actually has shown human desires for once, or is it because of the scene? Honestly, this didn't get under my skin at all, to me it showed that Batman isn't a one-track minded robot that was created only to fight villains, that he's just a man, a person, a human with emotions and impulses like everyone else. Plus, I'm pretty sure that scene originally happened in the comics, so I don't know what all the hullabaloo is about.

It didn't happen in the Killing Joke comic, that's why everyone is up in arms. "They are changing the comic, I HATE THIS WAAAAHHH!!!" –- Update From New Post Merge --- @Green_vs_Red:

Gotcha. In one of the nrecent Batman Beyond comic runs (which was a continuation of the show), they actually said that Bruce and Barbara had a relationship, she got pregnant but lost the baby and that is what truly broke up the team to what it was in Beyond.
-
The movie also added a long action scene of Batgirl at the front in order for the story to actually work. If you're doing it as a standalone movie, you can't just adapt the comic, there's not enough there. Adding some humanity to the characters is fine.
Rather than just having her be a victim for the sake of making the men upset.

The sheer age difference (plus, the fact that Batman's like a surrogate father or father figure to his sidekicks) seems like a reason - I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Bruce is generally a good two decades older than Barbara and Dick normally. Also, this scene definitely didn't happen in the original Killing Joke comic.
-
Since the scene isn't in the comics, could it be counted as filler, or did their relationship start somewhere in the comics/TV series (if there was a relationship at all)?

Never happened on screen in any of the tv shows, was alluded to in an episode of Batman Beyond played straight in the comic adaptation which I don't think is canon to the mainstream continuity.

I see. Still, Bruce and Barbara making out doesn't bother me, but I can see now why people dislike this scene.
-
For me it's odd because I always thought she was lile a daughter to him like the Robin's being like sons. It was a bit of a shock. Since I haven't read the Killing joke I have no idea what the timeline is supposed to be like or his relationships with people in this story.
-
They implied there was a thing between them in Batman TAS.
Also, I get the impression from the Robins that they're supposed to be surrogate Children as he meets all of them as Children.
He meets Dick Grayson at Age 12 (as Frank Miller is want to remind us)
Jason and Tim were both 14 when they became Robins
Stephanie was (I believe) 15
Damien was the youngest, he's like 10, but he's also Batman's Biological kid.
So any of them hooking up with Bruce (like in fanart etc) always has a squick factor for me as a result.
However, Batgirl is different. In every continuity, she was an adult when he met her. Even in her first appearance, she's a college student, and most adaptations follow suit. I think the youngest she's ever been was 19.
For this reason I'm MUCH more forgiving of HER being in a relationship with Batman than I am for literally any of the other sidekicks.
That being said… Not sure how I feel about this change... I feel like it was done to add emotional weight to proceedings. Like, if Batman and her were in a Relationship in the past, that makes him more invested in what happens to her... but I feel like his compassion towards her in the original was a strong point of the story. Like, the scene where he visits her in the hospital and he says "It's Bruce" and he takes her hand. I thought that scene was powerful on its own, and I don't really want the added dimension of "We were lovers" to pepper it....
All other aspects of this are mostly fine with me. This isn't exactly new ground, The DCAU already hinted at this....
I do like Brian Azarello's writing however (Joker, Wonder Woman New 52 1-30), and he adapted the script...
I'll reserve judgement till I see it. -
New trailer for WW:
-
Okay DC….take my money..... I'm ready.
-
All those trailers were just terrible. Even the SS which I was super hyped for, I'm suddenly less excited for.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
The trailers come off as being made by people who are used to making super dark, brooding, edgey trailers being told to make them light, fun and hip and failing badly at it. I see the attempt at levity but the comedic timing and tone is so off, it just comes off as awkward and forced.
-
Man all these comic-con stuff… They look great.
Even Kong: Skull Island looks great. -

Wait a minute are you saying that you didn't like [insert any movie/trailer ever made]? I'm totally and completely blown away by these statements. No one on this forum ever saw this coming.
-
Like Kong: Skull Island, Suicide Squad, and even Wonder Woman trailers, but…that Justice League trailer... Please...just remove Zack Snyder already... That trailer is like a trailer of every Zack Snyder cliche and "edge" he has ever done.
-
Of the three DC trailers, Wonder Woman is the most interesting looking one. We get the story behind that WW2 picture from BVS where she fights in the war. Visually looks interesting and the scene with the amazons fighting a bunch of soldiers looked pretty intense. It gives a Captain America: The First Avenger vibe, which I am completely fine with. Seeing her using her sword, shield, and lasso to fight off people was pretty neat, and beyond the setting we have no idea why she is fighting along side these people and what exactly will be going on. I feel the main guy we saw is supposed to be a bit like the guy from the JL Animated series. This one looks promising.
The JL trailer didn't really leave much of an impression one way or another. I can appreciate the fact that it was mainly about seeing some of the members that will be joining, and getting some bits and pieces of humor there. The part with Barry was a bit awkward, and are going in a direction that I don't like. Sure, personality wise Flash wasn't the "coolest" one and could be stupid at times, but he had charm and was overall fun. At least from this trailer they are making him the character to laugh at because he seems like such a loser.
Not sure what to think about Suicide Squad at this point. Having seen the animated movie recently, the idea is pretty cool, but the trailer hasn't really sold me, or the others. It seems too sporadic and cutting away too much to really grip onto something, and nothing has really stuck out to me from the trailers.

Yeah sure, I'm just a hater, never mind I just said in that quote that I was looking forward to suicide squad before that bad trailer. Just look at that conversation at the end of the WW trailer and tell me that wasn't awkward fumbling.

He was being sarcastic.

I actually kinda liked the JL trailer? Choice of music was bad, but I liked the Bruce and Barry stuff. Yeah, it was a little wonky, and I'm not sure what to make of Miller's approach to Barry, but I thought the scene where Bruce has Barry figuring him out was neat.
-
Nice to see DC marketing team being terrible as ever. But then again the material they get to work with is garbage so i guess it's a little understandable.
-
In Killing Joke Barbara would be in her early-mid 20's and Bruce would maybe be around 30. Bit of an age difference but not ridiculous. Robins however are always teenagers, except for Dick after he grew up to be Nightwing.
And seriously, I'm all for giving Barbara an actual character and some ass kicking and an actual life to lose. In the original comic (which was just a single deluxe comic… it's pretty short on its own) she's just a victim there to make Jim Gordon feel bad. Giving her any sort of agency and life in-story is a step up.
Aside from all that, it's a complete stand-alone movie. A story on it's own. What does continuity matter? WHy is anything added to it "filler"? Make the stand alone story as strong as it can be. Long as its faithful to the spirit of the characters and still includes the whole story.
(Even the original comic was meant to be an elseworld's sort of thing until everyone just embraced it and made Barbara's crippling an actual ongoing story element.)

People still don't care apparently Barbara is still jailbait and what they do in the movie is still creepy facts be damned.

Dick Grayson problems: when your crush is in a relationship with your dad.
-
Wonder Woman traiker looks great, Justice League one is just a teaser, but the tone is fantastic and already much better than bvs. Totally hyped. Also the new Suicide Squad trailer with the soundtrack had some cool new scenes and overall just makes me wanna see it more and more. The wait is almost over thankfully.
-
Thought the Wonder Woman trailer was easily the best of the three. Decent comedy, solid ass-kicking, and not too much given away. It looks like a better take on the Snyderverse's existing tropes.
Justice League was ok. It wasn't so self-important that I immediately expected it to bomb, like I did with BvS, but I also felt very little excitement. It didn't show any big action pieces so it's hard to tell how things will work in that respect, but one thing that specifically bothered me was Miller's Flash. He reminds me of Peter Parker before getting his powers- awkward, nerdy, antisocial, and very inexperienced. Felt like he had very little charm. I hope the next trailer gets me more excited.
Suicide Squad's newest trailer is by far their worst one yet. Things seemed less zany and much darker while a lot more of the plot was given away. Naturally the best way to make villainous characters heroic is to have them smash legions of mystical space golems to pieces so they're not hurting anyone. The whole weird magic wormhole thing makes me a bit nervous and has tempered my excitement for the movie a bit.

And getting his suit from billionare philantropist superhero.
