@Robby:
Given what texture surprise does, does that mean if you just touch Hisoka's nose now it vanishes?
I don't think it would vanish but it wouldn't be a genius to know that a nose don't feel this bungee.
I can understand how some people feel at odds with this chapter, but at the same time I can see some twisted logic on it. Wouldn't know if Togashi's intention matches what I understood, but here's it anyways:
Hisoka's main game is big game hunting, the game being powerful nen users, and being meaning that they are really powerful. His thrill is to fight and lust for a fight where his life is at stake. So he being defeated by Kuroro and still wanting to keep the game makes sense, this is possible the bigest thrill in his life and he wants to extend it to the max.
On his ressurection, I think it's a cleaver usage of bungee gum and conditions. The condition applied is, if I die, which as almost a certain event. By doing in this way he increased the chances of it happening, have he been blown to bits he would be dead as disco, so it was still a gamble.
Losing the fight made him learn a couple of things. First being that to beat Kuroro he can't be fighting at his pace. Second besides his many stolen abilities Kuroro has a sect of followers willing tho give him one or two of their abilities to help him. Third, said sect is composed by big game. So why not kill them in order to cut sort Kuroro resources? On not killing Machi, well and can see two equally probable ansewers. 1- He wants the psychological impact of some one who saw he ressurecting himself to warn the others that his on the hunt for them. Or 2 - He has a boner for Machi, and choose to kill her on a time he was more used to have a bungee spring for foot. After all the guy got exited by receving a death threat by her.
!
All that being said, I do feel cheap to include the Troupe on the boat trip, we already have to many factions trying to kill each other just to add the Troupe and Munderzombieclown seens to much convulsed to work propelly.
Also I'm willing to bet that by the end of the ride Hisoka will evolve to a sentient killing blob of gum who texture surpries himself to look human.
