Now we just need Law and Bart.

Now we just need Law and Bart.
-
Oh wow Sabo and Koala too? They are cramming a lot of characters into this movie and that usually isn't a good thing.
-
People are actually hyped for seeing Lucci?
-
We have 5 canon characters in this movie so far, Z had at least two times that. Don't panic about how much the cram into it and don't expect too big of a role for them.
The way Sabo and Koala are being shown, they probably appear very shortly in the movie. Probably in some sort of form that has to do with the gambler revolutionary we saw stuff of before. He will most likely be the revolutionary that has most to do in the movie.
Sakazuki's role looks at most marginally more involved than in Z, if not even less involved.
Lucci and Spandam, from the way we got introduced to them now, are the most likely to have a bigger role in the movie, like Kuzan in Z.
These other characters portrayed by some Japanese celebrities will only have very little screen time. They added such characters in the previous movies too, and that didn't take much away from them.
Personally this new info get's me way more excited for the movie and I really hope I will able to see it in cinema. Kazé demented the info about it being shown in Germany/Austria though, saying their summer blockbuster isn't fixated yet. It does sound like they only say that, because they're not allowed to disclose it at this time…hope they will officially announce it soon.

Isn't there any old character in One Piece Villain that no one is hyped in seeing again?
-
Some of these extra characters will likely be cameos. They'll show up, have a line or two, and disappear into the background. Others, like Hercules'n, may just be Easter eggs.
So far most of the inclusions make sense, given that Tesoro's going to be making waves and certain parties want to keep an eye on him.
Also, Toei cannot get enough of Sabo, so it should come to no surprise in his case
-
Maybe they'll even give us a silhouette preview of the new admiral
-
For what it's worth, OP Gold shouldn't try to cram in too many chars and instead focus on a solid plotline, a good villain(+henchmen) and a proper conclusion. Including lots of cool names is nice and all but might divert the viewer's attention away from the main part.
-
it seems the Revolutionary Army will have a big role in this movie.
Maybe dragon will be involved too, Hopefully.

More Sabo pandering? How lovely…
Quite interested in seeing the return of both Spandam and Lucci. -
The main disappointment on this films is always the missing of Law or the samurais in the main cast. No cause I need to give them a timeline collocation, but more cause I want to see the full current main cast in action. And it would be a pretty variation on the movieplot.

He can't be in anything without it being pandering?
-

Foxy, Kuro, Krieg for example.
-
-
Now, seeing Fujitora in the movie would not be farfetched
-
How will the meeting between Sabo and SH, Lucci and SH play in the manga. When Luffy will meet Lucci in the manga again, will he pretend it's the first time after the time skip or they will pretend the meeting at this casino is cannon.
-
Now that's interesting!

They might be in the movie like Coby and Garp were in Film Z. And never actually meet the strawhats.

Weekly Shonen Jump #24/2016 HQ scans.
-
I'll go ahead and say it: Lucci looks good in white.
Spandam does not.
-
-
I like how Spandam got the metal plates on his face recolored.
-
So, if Funimation does bring Gold to the US, will we get volume 777 as well?
-
So, if Funimation does bring Gold to the US, will we get volume 777 as well?
Funimation has nothing to do with manga volumes. Maybe Viz Media will publish it in order to promote the movie and excite manga readers
-
I think it gonna be like volume 1000 , it would be publish with the film "Gold" blu-ray.
-
Lucci looks really different without his upper lip line. Also I think it´s safe to assume Jyabura died from laughter when he saw that beard.
RIP Jyabura.
Good dog, best CP9. -
New trailer is up:
Very exciting!
-
This will be the best One Piece movie ever.
-
The animation looks so solid, but what in the heck is Brook wearing at 0:21?!
-
Hey Joker. Long time no see.
-
So apparently Tesoro had met the Doflamingo Family in the past, explaining why they are in it.
Gear 4th is officially confirmed to be in the movie. This firmly places it post-Dressrosa in the movie's alternate timeline.
Also appears the SHs will be masquerading as Celestial Dragons at one point
-
Donquixote Family spotted!
God, the visual aesthetics for this film look gorgeous. All the bright colors and gold mixed with the entertainment setting works so well.
And I'm very excited to see Gear Fourth and that it wasn't left out of the film.
-
This post is deleted!
-
This movie gives me Civil War vibes with all the character features. Hopefully it can also succeed in balancing them appropriately.

Not necessarily; Luffy's had it since his timeskip training. If it's post Dressrosa it would also have to be post Whole Cake Island since Sanji is with the group, and probably post-Wano since the crew is set to unite there. I don't think Toei will likely try to risk setting it into the future when a lot of things could change from now until then.

In a parallel universe that they didn't splitted the crew into the Swirly Hats back in Dressrosa if that is the case.

Luffy created Gear Fourth while training on Rusukaina, in order to fight the giant animals. Dressrosa wasn't the first time he used it, just the first time we were shown him using it.
-
The song sounds awesome, who sings it?? Please don't let nami be kidnapped in this movie again:/
That gear 4th tho!!!
-
holy smokes i am hyped after that trailer
-
-
So 2 million Volume 777 being distributed in Japan. Yeeeeeeeet, 0 outside Japan ?
-
What I got out of that trailer…FRANKY CAN FLY?! Hell yes.
-
I need this movie to come out in North America NOW! That trailer was fucking awesome!
-

Very exciting!
After watching…
The true disappointment would be if someone doesn't turn into this at one point.
Main Antagonist:
!
Ok. Both of you get a cookie for being spot on.
-
Besides its not like any of his crewmembers were surprised by it@midod:
Luffy created Gear Fourth while training on Rusukaina, in order to fight the giant animals. Dressrosa wasn't the first time he used it, just the first time we were shown him using it.

Ok. From a few freeze frames in the trailer a few things are confirmed and some more things to speculate on.
Carina will become a Strawhat ally. You can see her at 0:20 in "World Noble" disguise with everyone else (Robin in a suit looks amazing btw ), and you can see her again at 0:54 escaping with the Strawhats (in Sanji's arms, complete with full "heist" outfit.)
And we are indeed going to get a "giant gold homer"
As for speculation:
It looks like Tesoro is gonna have some similar themes to the "World Nobles", given what appears to be a red hot brand in the shape of his signature "star".
0:55 Is Baccarat wearing some kinda gold plate armor, curtesy of Tesoro perhaps? Nothing really big, but it happens to look rather nice on her.
0:58 Will "Mr.Prince" finally make his debut?
-
The animation looks so solid, but what in the heck is Brook wearing at 0:21?!
I would even say it looks solid gold
-
Damn, that new trailer was fantastic! :D
-
If there is going to be a GOLD filler arc, it will be interesting given that there will not be a full crew or even the Thousand Sunny present when it happens. Previous tie-in filler arcs at least fit within the confines of the film's reality (Strong World and Z).
So perhaps we may see an odd sequence-breaking arc like Little East Blue?
In a parallel universe that they didn't splitted the crew into the Swirly Hats back in Dressrosa if that is the case.
Pretty much. Since there are plenty of crew splits other factors in the New World, there's no way to figure a way for it to fit into the current events. So essentially one needs to imagine an alternate scenario where they never split, which is less messy than one where they reunited in Zou and somehow left together.
These sorts of movies and specials will always have a full crew present regardless of the present situation in the series.
Luffy created Gear Fourth while training on Rusukaina, in order to fight the giant animals. Dressrosa wasn't the first time he used it, just the first time we were shown him using it.
I suppose it's not conclusive yet. It will all depend on how the Doflamingo Family segment in the movie is framed or if there is any reference to his defeat by Luffy's hand. Also, any visible changes in bounties is naturally going to be a sign. Lastly, it will depend on whether Luffy knows that Sabo is alive in the movie, assuming they cross paths in any way.
Though I tend to figure the movies aren't set that far in the past–generally within a year's worth of content. Even oddballs like Episode of Chopper reframes a world where Drum Island came after Water 7.
