Man you sure love your Duwang subs. Are they really that much better/funnier? I'm gunna watch this myself and see lol.
Edit: A lot more use of the word "fuck" which is good and bad….

I think it's more worth reading the originals. The scan quality is just the cherry on top of the shit cake.

It's just so bad that it's mesmerizing, like watching the Room or playing Sonic 2006. It's… beautiful.

Please don't speak such blasphemy LMAO!!!
-
Duwang scans are pretty much as ingrained into the Jojo mythos as the actual translation. Something of a rite of passage for those reading Joey Jojo
-
I just remembered that we're gonna get the OP and the ED today.
HYPE
Any final bets on what the ED is gonna be?
-
My hype for any new manga chapters has been trumped for new JoJo episodes, so I am really looking forward to this. As for the ED I am an uncultured swine so I have no idea of the music selection that could be used. All I can say is part 1 and 2 introduced me to a great song, and I hope this one does as well.
-
Supposedly the ED is from the late 90s. You know what that means.
! SomeBODY once told me

That or party like it's 1999.
Were there any Queen songs in the 90s?

Is there an opening at all?
-
Opening:
Ending song is Savage Garden - I Want You -
I can't wait to edit the ED with all the songs people guessed.
-
Yes, there was an opening. Ending song is Savage Garden - I Want You
Nice. I remember loving that song so I have no problem with it.
-
Opening:
good… good... good... (...) ... WHERE'S ROHAN???
You can tell they are gonna edit the op later to include Echoes, hope Rohan will be added later too.
-
The pacing is so far good.
-
Loved it. I remember the first Stand face off really hooking me to this part and seeing this episode reminded me why. Also get a little emotional and giddy with how certain parts go down.
-
Funny story. First album I ever owned was by Savage Garden. I thought that I was buying a Soundgarden album.
-
I loved this episode. This is shaping out to be a great adaptation.
First, the opening is gourgeuos. No CG, which is a pity but there are a lot of colours and the song is great, most reminiscent of Bloody Stream. It was shorter than most, only one minute long and there was a lot of reused animation from the first PV, so it might not be the final version. Echoes is obviously going to be put in when it's revealed, and hopefully change when it evolves, and the characters only go up to Tonio, who should be around episode 12, according to my calculations. This last thing together with the lack of Akira and Rohan make me thing that we are either getting a second version of the OP or a new one altogether.
The ending was equally great. First time I hear the song, but it totally fits. Savage Garden is not a new Jojo reference, but this is probably better than the pidgeon in part 6I like the visuals too, I spotted a Cinderella Beauty Saloon signpost and the boat in which Joseph comes to Morioh, allong with a couple references to Killer Queen.
As for the episode itself, it covered 4 chapters of the manga, as was expected. If they keep the pace up, the Nijimura will take 3 episodes (for 10 chapters + Angelo's last). I'm excited for Okuyasu next week. -
Good Lord, that was one of the best things I have ever seen. The randomness was just so….perfect. I damn near shed a tear at how great this episode was. IMO David Productions are improving each and every season and it really shows. The pacing, the timing, use of material, humor, everything. I don't mean to rant but I'm just not used to this level of awesomeness. The intro song is probably my favorite so far after Part 2. I'm addicted now. I need more. I don't really know if I regret not reading the manga first yet though.
-
Goddamn, I'm sorry I doubted that they'd handle this with quality. The animation and direction down to the sound is even better than it was for Part 3. The color, lighting, music and action all just look and feel really good, especially the moment when Josuke shook the glove and Angelo just came flying out. I especially love the opening.
I'm really excited to see how they handle the rest of Part 4. This is my second favorite Jojo series after 7, and the anime's off to a great start.
-
Man that ending is just oozing with style.
@Cyan:I can't wait to edit the ED with all the songs people guessed.
people are fast lol.
-
Just watched the first two episodes…. Yuki Kaji??? Why japanese people, why!!!!!!!!!

What's the significance of Yuji Kaji? Who's he voice and why does it earn a declaration to the people of Japan?

Yuki Kaji is voicing Kouichi. Everyone who follows japanese media might have heard of the joke
But I guess you just wanted to be a goody two-shoes -
Loving the transitional scenes, the ending song was an interesting pick and DP is handling my favourite part great so far.
-
That was a good episode and seeing Angelo get his just desserts was even better.
-
I love both the OP and the ED. The intro definitely gives off the perfect vibe for the first half of Duwang.
Two things I'd like to point out, and they happen to occur at basically the same time. First, for some reason I think the art style works really well for Yukako; it makes her look very pretty, something I never really thought about her before.
The second is I can't get over Tonio's walk, you can't try to run anymore like a stereotypical cutesy Japanese schoolgirl that this adult Italian chef and it's hilarious.
That and it's always nice picking up on Kira/KQ hints.
-
Ok yeah I'm glad they didn't use a lot of CG in the opening, it felt like a true 90s anime opening and that makes me so happy! Also I can't even begin to describe my excitement for a Savage Garden song as the ending, I was and still am a huge fan!
-
Guys, did you notice the amazing transitions? Take another look at how a scene transitions from Jotaro hanging a phone to entering a taxi cab.
Wow.
That is some sleek cinematography and direction in my JoJo. This might end up the best produced part yet, easily.
-
This is just awesome guys
I never read further than Stardust crusaders at manga so all of this completely new and I have no idea how story will progress, second episode was just amazing and can't wait for more.
-
Also, they made Angelo really menacing for a starter mook.
It's all in the presentation.
-
Kind of a bummer they didn't stick with the CGI opening, all the others were great. Not saying I didn't enjoyed though, just wishing they kept the theme going.
-
I guess they chose to go with hand-drawn because it is easier to add stuff in as the show goes on.
There are lots of little things that will get added.
-

I legitimately found myself wondering whether he was actually a bigger scumbag than Kira.

! Didn't Kira only kill his victims and just have that hand fetish thing going for him? If he just killed and didn't rape people then he would be less of a scumbag, but still not bad. Also, unless I was projecting I thought near the end there was hints that there was a little bit of humanity in Kira but ultimately the bad was too much, while Angelo seemed to have no goodness in him.
-
I'm surprised people liked the CG in the openings I personally didn't care for it.

-
GangSTARs Paradise for Part 5
Yt comments guy has the right idea.
-
The transition of Jotaro on the phone and getting into the character was so well done. This was a great episode and next week is gonna be so good as well.
-
Seeing Tonio dance made my day. I can't wait for his arc.
-
Someone needs to make a smooth loop of this scene
-
I forgot how gory JJBA is, that scene with the dog was shocking. But overall, I have to get used to the "chameleon" aspect of the animation.
I am glad that they didn't use 3 episodes to deal with Angelo.
-
I legitimately found myself wondering whether he was actually a bigger scumbag than Kira.
Yoshikage Kira wasn't evil, he just wanted to live a quiet life.
