While thinking about the chapter I had a flashback to Saobody. I can't remember if it was Kidd or Killer (or perhaps a different supernova but I'm sure it was one of those two), commented about Zoro. They saw Zoro and commented that the fact a monster like him was below someone else must be saying something about the captain. Now we have this chapter, where Jack is back and not only going to just kill an island that has existed for all these years, but had no qualms about beating a subordinate for coming back and reporting what they learned. The fact that a monster like this is under command by Kaido really speaks volumes of Kaido's strength. With how Kaido just wants to die and wants to start a war, I can see how Jack would want to be under him, which would allow him to fight and torture to his hearts content. This makes me curious about the other calamities.
While it's a gender swap, we have another case of crying royalty/nobility/friend asking for Luffy's help. One thing that we know is when someone cries and asks for Luffys help, shit is going to go down. Of course unlike some of the other arcs, it's a long road to Kaido going down. First Jack has to get dealt with, which will be interesting to see how things play out from here. I have a bit of a theory on how things could possibly work out starting from this arc on to taking down Kaido. First is Jack is defeated, weakening Kaido's forces significantly with one less Calamity. Once the safety of Zou is assured, Luffy and a few others head to Big Mom with Pekoms. Pekoms knows the Straw Hats helped Zou twice and feels a debt, but also still has an allegiance with Big Mom. We will have the wedding to crash but I see a truce being made to get Sanji back and not have Big Mom on their back. Pekoms tells them of their feats and plans, and Big Mom decides that letting them go to take down Kaido will make things easier for her. She'll be prepared to finish Kaido off when the Straw Hats lose (which she feels would be the case). This allows them to get off the island and have Sanji with them to head off to Wano.
As for actual stuff that happened in the chapter, I did like the Momo and Luffy interaction. Luffy continues to show that no matter that person's background, he will not mince words. Seeing Momo finally on his own come to bow to Luffy was a nice little emotional moment. The humor was quite good, with Zoro and Law feeling left out and many of the others questioning Luffy's decision when he said no the first time. We now have a large alliance and with Luffy having a fleet under him, it's just counting down to the time when the first big confrontation with a Yonko will happen.
