! Dwyer and Setsuna obviously buy their supply from Midori.
! Anna is trying to take profits.

Captain Qwark? Is tht you?

We already know Midori is a drug dealer.
And now we know Dwyer and Setsuna are her best customers.
Izana and Arthur are just about perfect

Woah…Selkie...Slow down girl.

I seriously think Keaton is voiced by Gideon Emery, which is funny
! because he sounds more Gaius than the Gaius-lookalike lol

Arthur is voiced by Cam Clarke.

! I guess in essence, they're trying to do what they did for Sakura and Elise - use an older sounding voice compared to the Japanese version to make…..romancing a little less awkward. I really think Midori, Kana, and Percy are younger than the little royal sisters. -
Can't wait to pick up my impluse-purchased special edition after work tomorrow
-
I have a mid-shift tomorrow, so if I want to pick up my copy on Day 1 I'm probably going to have to leave home pretty early, bleh…

9 or 10 is when Gamestop opens. Can't just waste the whole weekend playing though, I still have homework XD
Also interesting fact about the 2nd gen supports
! apparently a lot of Soliel's S-supports are now platonic and/or polite rejection (but still being friends). Considering her preference for cute girls, handling her male -only S-supports like this, nonromantically…is actually a very nice attention to detail.
! Also the support with M!Corrin uses a blindfold (and she's aware) -

I also heard it's the case for the characters that look more like kids as well like it being the case for a lot of supports with the child of the avatar. Obviously, there's not really anything you can do about that too much when the avatar can romance everyone. Basically, an attempt to make it less controversial, so there's less chance of getting a romance between characters that would seem weird, or making it less eregious that Soleil had a lot of male coupling vs no female ones whereas it's now more that she just has two romances.

The one annoying thing about ordering off Amazon is I can't just go to the store when it opens, I have to wait for the damn thing to be delivered. Day of release, delivery, yes, but who knows when the fucker is going to get here. I also have errands to run.
Quick question: So, to be perfectly clear here, the big difference between Birthright and Conquest is that in Conquest you can't go back and fight at old battlegrounds (aka grind). Other than that you are free to choose which side, it's mostly the gameplay that's the difference, yes?

In Birthright you have to choose the Hoshido side, and in Conquest you have to choose the Nohr side.

I'm not sure if intentional humor or just terribly not helpful. Isn't that a given?
edit: wait, I just got her question, and I think your answer was actually THE answer. @_@Satsuki: Conquest was designed to be like classic Fire Emblem and not allow you to have grinding opportunities (so from one chapter, to the next), and Hoshido was made to be like Sacred Stones/Awakening and give you places in between chapters to practice and hone skills and get experience, etc.

That's what I thought. I was just making sure, because all the design made it look like Conquest was Nohr and Birthright was Hoshido, but the whole point of the game is "choose your side" so that means you should be able to choose your side in either game.

No, see, there was MY confusion. I thought you were asking about how each game plays, but Kirjava got it.
Conquest = Nohr
Birthright = HoshidoI don't think you can get Conquest and choose Hoshido, or vice-versa. There's still a choice in that you're choosing which one you're playing by paying for it.

I'm having the weirdest eargasm right now.Oohh, I like Pieri's voice. But listening to those quotes I think we've got our female Henry.

That seems odd then.

I have a Japanese copy of Birthright, and at the point of choice it does give both options. I chose Hoshido, but I believe if you choose Nohr on a Birthright copy, it opens the eshop or something to let you buy Conquest.
-
They should add the fourth option to "Join Smash!", which then opens the eShop to let you buy Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Corrin DLC.

For clarification, I'm referring to the hashtag itself not whatever trivial issues they're whining about
-
Quite heartwarming to see a series go from being almost on its last legs to being the next Internet rage generating machine. How far it's come in five years.
-
Its probably Takumi's fault.
-
People are calling it a hack job and rampant censorship with changes to the plot and I have no idea what they're talking about. The two big changes are Soleil and soldier-amie, right?
-
Just people who don't understand localization, or censorship, or that they're not the game's only audience, or that Awakening had as many changes in the script and it didn't bother them in the slightest when they originally played it.
People who think Treehouse works completely behind NoJ's back and that by boycotting the game, Nintendo will give them what they want (as opposed to just stop releasing their future Fire Emblem games outside of Japan which is typically what they do if they don't sell well overseas).
The 15 year old who made this is probably patting himself on the back right about now. Thinking he's saving vidyagames
But seriously, you can only laugh at this point. -

Right, like Cordelia being insecure about her modest bust size, or Henry occasionally getting sober over how insane he is.
-
Alright! Got both games, and my brother even started along with me (me - Conquest, him - Birthright). I am going to play both, and considering the first few chapters are the same nohr matter what….yeah.
I started on Hard/Classic, because I'm a masochist. I forget what bane I picked, but I know the boon was +Spd. Speed is good. I just got up to the first chapter after the split, and because of that, I know I'll have to seriously start paying attention to the new mechanics. (chapter 1-6 go by quickly, trust me)
For clarification, I'm referring to the hashtag itself not whatever trivial issues they're whining about
"Treehouse is like 4Kids" I hate seeing this. Oh no, the names aren't exactly the same as the Japanese (FE localization tradition now) and the script doesn't match 100% to the fan translation! shakes fist
Ffs people need to play the game all the way through first, if they really really want to compare every piece of dialogue. Doesn't sound very fun in my opinion, though.
-
Hopefully I'll get to play the game soon. My friend pre-ordered it at Bestbuy a while back when there was a promotion, but then decided to get the special edition instead but he still saved the other one for me. Their website claims the game is available in nearby stores, so I just gotta wait until he calls them.
-

The hashtag name seems very apropos given all the salt being poured out.
-
There appears to be a menu option to just have you start a game after the split, but I'm not sure if it's purely for the Special Edition, or an option that becomes available once you beat the game once or something. EDIT: as soon as you get to chapter 7.
Essentially it'd be like starting FE7 from chapter 11 (skipping Lyn's mode) because that's where the game begins.
Also one thing I adore in this game:
[hide]
The facial expression shifting with weapon triangle/stat advantages. [/hide]
Also the 3DS themes for Fates, as well as the Awakening DLC map (for free) are now available.

I've been working on localization for AAA titles for 10 years and it's supposed to be the exact same thing as translator.
Yeah, sure thing buddy. It's not like translator is a separate job or anything.
Of course they will believe him since it supports their narrative.

I thought that one of the core messages of Fire Emblem Awakening was in fact "ANYTHING CAN CHANGE" but i guess not apparently
-
I really think Soliel's supports and skinship being issues were a springboard for this endless censorship vs. localization debacle.
Without the oil, there's no fire.
-
Ok, all of you are so excited I am finally starting to feel like playing this. Maybe I will finally try to finish Awakening. I honestly wish I could start to like this "new FE Age" (the Unity-amie being absent may significantly help).
-
Gah I need to wait fI've more hours before I can get my copy and start playing because I have a midterm.
This is tough

Well Fates has spiced up Awakening's dish, in a sense. Altered pair-up, altered weapon triangle….based on your reservations, is Conquest the more appealing path to you?
-

Then there's all the dialogue changes
''They have the BALLS to make lines funnier, because they did the same in the last game and people thought it made the character more charming?! Treehouse is ruled by EVIL SJWs!!!!!!''
But whatever, they can have their authentic, litteral fantranslation
-
I do enjoy reading the comparison threads for dialogue in the different versions, but lol at those typos.
Also I was kinda hoping there would be some FE amiibos in the store today, but alas…..only really want one just for the novelty of it.
-
Even without the typos it seems like whoever did the translation just sucks at sentence structure
-
@Purple:

So the translator was from Mangapanda?:ninja:

Yup. But it will be a while until I buy it if it happens anyway, so probably the version with the three routes will available by then (there is one, right? Not following the news for a while now).
-
! Just read the Corrin x Camilla convo. The S-rank convo's pretty hilarious.
! '''Camilla''':
But don't you see? There's no reason to hide our love any longer. I'll say it again: we are not related. There's no taboo preventing us from marrying. We're just like…childhood sweethearts who have finally come of age. -
I thought that one of the core messages of Fire Emblem Awakening was in fact "ANYTHING CAN CHANGE" but i guess not apparently

I'm mulling over whether to name my first Conquest character Bernie because he wants to revolutionize the system from the inside.
