So, I've been wondering for a while.. " when did I make this thread?" I don't really remember..O-o.. So I finally went back and read the first few pages and it all makes sense now. Lolol. One thing I did read though, people were still waiting for blast, and here we are two years later, still waiting on him. he better be a bad-ass or Saitama, somehow.
Metal Bat and Garou are facing off in the redrawn edition. I guess we'll get an idea of what One meant when he said that Metal Bat being in the mix would have changed the outcome of the Hero vs. Monster Association fight.
It seems likely that it'd be because Metal Bat would have killed Fuhrer Ugly earlier on and saved Tatsumaki from a lot of her injuries as a result.
Not sure of what we can expect.
MB is somewhat injured, has to deal with the monster, and more importantly, has his little sister recital.
Too much going agaist him. Definitly won´t be a fair fight.

Metal Bat is stronger than Garou right now, a deus ex machina would have to save Garou's ass.
But Garou gets stronger with every foe he faces so I dont think the hero fight outcome would be much different in the end.
So as animes episode will be by big part about Meteorite I wondered today what if Genos or Saitama did not show up ?
I mean that Tatsumaki certainly would be able to stop that Meteorite on her own but would it be possible for Bang to go all out on it and at least lessen its impact ? Speaking about going out with a bang..
He flew through Fuhrer Ugly second form like through butter and FU was Dragon level threat so I wonder what Bang would be able to do against that Meteor if he would be on his own.

In place of city there would be a huge crater and impact would destroyed everything in 50-100 km radius of the city the loss of life would been collossal. That meteor was one of greatest threats in the series this far perhaps second only to Boros and his alien band…

When I think about it then perhaps Boros was testing out Earth before comming with that Meteor - if earth has means to stop it then it was worth his attention. Just a thought.
As for Bang-Meteor thing I still dont see him completely failing being unable to do anything as he is Nr 3 hero.
As for Bang-Meteor thing I still dont see him completely failing being unable to do anything as he is Nr 3 hero.
Bang is a martial artist master, I guess he can take out Dragon level monsters alone when he puts his mind on it, he is superbly strong but that meteor would had killed him and rest of the city at same second when impact would occured.
Bang is simply not suited for threats like that, meteor is a massive space rock falling at 70 times of speed of sound its nothing you can do with martial arts, Saitama was able to negate meteor by impacting meteor with same or greater opposing force to simple stop all momentum of meteor and shatter it to tiny rocks that fall at normal speed…speed is power afterall and even 10 meter rock can destroy a city block if it has enough speed behind it.
So yeah... its completely different matter to kill Sea King in battle or try stop massive meteor with a force of a thousands nuclear bombs coming with over 60 000 km/h velocity.
I dont think any of the known S-heroes had a chance against the meteor. Bang aknowledged at the moment that Saitama was way above him and the others.
Think of it this way, if Saitama wanted to punch the Earth he would do even greater damage than the meteor.
Tatsumaki might had some chances against Meteor, she could even slowed it enough to reduce its devastation to local scale only but effort would most likely killed her…

We have no idea on that it would kill her.
For what I seen she stopped without much effort all of shells from alien ship - those eradicated entire city in few moments. Imo she could have had stopped meteor without dying in process.
And what do you mean about Sea King in your previous post ??
meteor is a massive space rock falling at 70 times of speed of sound its nothing you can do with martial arts
Are you seriously trying to bring real world physics into this?
We've already seen multiple people that can move that fast or even faster.
We have no idea on that it would kill her.

Tatsumaki was very weary after she fought monster association and Garou to an extend of heavy nosebleed… Sea king (rain) and meteor both were designared 'dragon' but my point was that even if both shared same threat level they were entirely differrent in nature... Other was powerful monster other was falling rock. Bang woulb been ideal dealing sea king but he was nothing but spectator and potential victim in face of meteor

Her head gotten damaged by Monster Society Boss long before that nosebleed thing.
She would won with Golden Sperm in her best condition as One said.
As I agree that Sea Kings rain form was somehow Dragon level monster I think that I didnt seen it being stated anywhere in manga. Was it said by one on any page or is it for us to acknowledge based on hints?
Also we didnt yet seen all that Bang is capable of and I guess we will have some dying Heroes based on hints along the way. Bang showing off his full potential before death would be great I think(he is old guy
with legacy and Garou most likely gotten back from Dark Side to being hero, if Bang dies then Garou would very likely continue legacy).
I know this is hardly a new theory, but I was re-reading OPM and I can't help but feel like this is foreshadowing in some way:
I can't help but think that the above panel actually does foreshadow Saitama as being Blast all along. Even if it means that the series is effectively doing the same trope twice, I could still see it being pulled off somehow.
See this could still easily describe Saitama. Given his cluelessness about things, I could see the Hero Association calling his house and asking basic questions ie:
"We're the Heroes Organization. Can we ask you to do XYZ?"
"What? I dont know who you are. I'm a hero for a hobby. I do my own thing, blah blah"
It'd be easy for stuff that Saitama says to end up with the current result. Particularly with Saitama's total lack of awareness on anything.
But Saitama's work is already credited to King?
Saitama did join the heroes organization once he learned about it.
I dont think he is Blast.
Besides if Saitama was blast i think it would pop up when he joined the organization.
Somewhat of an old theory, but I don´t think it will happen.
Blast seems like the kind of guy that simply doesn´t give a crap and wants to go all out when fighting, not caring about the collateral damage. He sounds somewhat villainous to me.
Saitama… he occasionally destroys stuff, but it seems he tries to avoid to.
I mean, the meteor is bad example. It´s not like he could have done anything about it, but in his other fights he always seems to try avoiding collateral damage and regrets a bit, Saitama style, when something gets destroyed.
Blast just wants someone to tell me "It´s ok" and then prooced to go all out, without worrying.
Heroes Association has been shown to be very puzzled about Saitama and they can't seem to know if he is overpowered superhuman or cheating opportunist who happen to be around when big threats are taken down… they suspect that Saitama might be a real deal and physical tests speak for them self but idea of Saitama being godly strong is so outrageous that association rather attempts to explain his results by co-incidinents and riding on efforts of S-class heroes.
But evidence keeps piling up and his achievements are harder and harder to explain as hoax and I wonder what will association do with Saitama... keep low profile on him and keep him hidden from public or praise him as saviour of world... well I think it wont happen until end of series because one of main tropes of this series is everyone underestimating Saitama and him one punching monsters out of no where.
What if Blast is just a fiction devised by the founder of the Hero Association to put the organization's collective minds at ease "Oh well, if the other heroes can't handle it, maybe Blast can!" being something the regular people working at HA HQ say to keep from bolting out of their seats whenever a Demon-level or Dragon-level threat shows up in the city they happen to be stationed in (Is A-City the only HA HQ location?). In addition, the 'existence' of Blast can be used to keep the other S-Class heroes in line; what's to keep people that powerful/crazy from doing whatever they want? I can just imagine the elderly Mr. Buttchin trying to hide his terror at the S-Class heroes being swatted down individually as his subordinates merely scratch their heads and wonder if maybe they could convince Blast to do something.
I really like that idea! Can't wait to find out what the real deal is.
I wonder how long Saitama will still be doubted as far as his strengh goes. Saitama is already A-Class isn't he? it's a matter of time before he goes S, and in Garou's battle, almost the entire S crew witnessed him in action, save for the absents(Watchdog Man, Engine Knight, Metal Bat and Bofoy, and some who might've been unconcious). Bang, Genos and King are already very aware of him, they just remain silent.
And i wonder what the next big arc could be, the potential plots i can think of: the being who gave Homeless emperor his powers, Metal Knight/Bofoy up to something, Blast, Genos' cyborg enemy(assuming it's not Metal Knight). Also, Pig God could be hiding something as well(given his dialogue), and there is obviously more to Sweet Mask than what is revealed.
Sweet mask will come into play when Saitama has is rank raised up to the top 5 or so in A class. But I don't think the gag of no one believes in Saitama's ability will be set aside so soon, being that it's not only a comedic point but also a plot point for the entire story. It'll be closer towards the end of the story that people recognize his over all badassness. What's going to be interesting to me is genos' back story.
Sweet Mask sure seemed to fancy himself against a man who slapped around a foe who literally punched his face in.
How many ranks has Genos gone up since joining the Hero Association?
@_Meh_:

He started in the last rank of S-class (17th), went to 16th after the meteor and got to 14th after Sea King.
My friends and I have a theory that Saitama radiates an Ignore Me field. He is constantly underestimated by people who should know better, who should trust their senses, (or it's the effect of being a baldy.) Look at chapter 87, page ten of the original. Garou says "There's no way you could have beaten that liquid monster before, there must still be an S-class hiding around somewhere." Same thing when he defeats Sea King. Lots of eyewitnesses immediately disbelieve their own front row views. There should be plenty of security cam video of what he did, but the Hero Association discounts him after seeing the results. Maybe Garou was right, (*), Saitama is made of the world's unfairness.

I'm looking forward to what ever gag fallout his new pets bring. Eventually Pale-Gray Sperm will make it back to what is left of the Alliance and tell them what they're really up against. I would also love to see a cameo appearance of MOB. No shortage of plot threads. Hopefully the anime will be extended indefinitely.

Its not like the Hero Association doesn't show a precedence of ignoring talent. Can't remember the chapter, but when the author explains S-Class Heroes, he says that these are people who force their way in. Even if they're ignored, the bodies keep piling up and they had to create the S-Class.
Its something like that, they used WatchDogMan as the hero for this example. Doesn't seem like much, but he keeps defeating villains.
Or maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Thank you, SpaceCowboy. So, Genos has only gone up three ranks compared to Saitama's ~400 (All 328 ranks in C-Class, plus all of the ranks in B-Class, up to his current A-Class rank). Saitama did tell Genos that they should both aim for the top of S-Class. At this rate, that pretty much means a conflict with Sweet Mask in the not-too-distant future.
Zombieman is immortal right? What if he faces Saitama what would be the result of their fight.
Zombieman is not inmortal, his regeneration has a limit.

You ask like you did not read Ones version at all.
Better go and read it again if you dont remember such things.

If he is not overwhelmed by enemy he can eventually beat him, for example that true blood vampire from chapter 60
Also in one of lates interviews One said that Zombieman is considered by some to be weakest S-class hero in general. One stated that he would have problems defeating Seaking(meaning that even his regenerative power would not help him).
Small bit of Niconico interview http://onepunchman.wikia.com/wiki/Interviews - you can read here a lot of interviews, you might like some of it as it nicely adds to manga/Ones work
ONE: Zombieman needs 15min to recover a cut off arm. He'll die if you reduce him to mince meat. There's the rumor that he's the weakest amongst s-class heroes, but it hasn't been confirmed. It would be difficult for him to defeat sea king
I just finished this version as I couldn't bring myself to read everything over again, but once I did. Great stuff, I'm really hyped for the Garou arc to be re-drawn, that was probably the best arc so far. It's a confusing message, with the moral being 'nothing', but it actually pretty funny. This version as a whole seems more funny than the redrawn version, or maybe it's just my imagination.
And this arc with Tornado is pretty sweet too. It seems to be different from what the Murata version led me to believe. Tornado is really more of a manipulative psycho(path), isn't she? The whole sequence of being thrown around the city seem to be written with the re-drawing in mind.
On the subject of comparing the two versions I have to say that Tornado's curly hair would look silly in the re-draw, but I kinda miss it. Also the scene where we see Tornado for the first time doesn't quite get across the height difference like the original. In the re-drawn, it only becomes obvious in the third panel we see her (one panel later after the comedic reveal.)
EDIT:Also I'd like to mention that the current fight where Saitama has to prove the power of acquaintanceship is hilarious

I don't think she's manipulative, but rather, simply overbearing.
I doubt she has any nefarious purpose.

There aren't any words that come to mind, but she does this thing where she toys with your head.
There aren't any words that come to mind, but she does this thing where she toys with your head.
- She told Fubuki that she understood, and apologizes, but then psych! she wants Fubuki to quit being a hero
- She later then acknowledged Fubuki's strength, but then psych! she's going to take away Fubuki's friends
- When Saitama asks for a rematch, she agree but then psych! Saitama is dropped into a fault
One tries to cram several stages of character development into one battle which makes it feel like shes flip flopping.
The rest is probably just psychosis.

Not sure.
Sweet Mask seems to have fallen "in love" with Saitama in his latest appearance in ONE´s version.
In Murata´s version, he´s also in charge of admitting new heroes in Class-A, and since Murata only makes those decisions with ONE´s consent, I guess we can suppose that he admits Saitama into A-class? This last one is debatable.

Like I said, I figure she's just overbearing.
Her attitude towards Fubuki seems simply over protective, combined with her crazy spontaneous mood swings.
Asking for spoilers, who in the webcomic at this point are aware of Saitama's true strength. Genos, Bang, Fubuki, Sonic, Licenceless Rider and King are those I know at this point in the manga.

A whole bunch of S Class heroes plus that one bishie asshole (you know the one) kinda.
Sweet Mask, Zombieman, Child Emperor perhaps, a few monsters, and, well, Garou lol. Oh, also Dr. Genus and his cyborg gorilla.
Tatsumaki?
I mean, she know he's immensely strong, but the way it plays out leaves her boundless arrogance some leeway to assume she could totally body him.
