….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
KICK ASS!
Sandman looks amazing if I do say.
Spiderman 3

-
I thought that Sam Rami has stated that there was going to be four major villains.
So Sandman, Venom, Green Goblin 2, and who else?
The Sandman seems like he'll be more deadly than I first thought. The second Green Goblin costume, however, doesn't look that great.

Still, the movie looks very good so far!The costume is post to based on the original concept drawings from the first movie. The costume looks alot more freakier in drawings.
-
Fucking amazing teaser. I can't wait to see more footage. C'mon Comic-con…
-
Hey thanks Advent`, that teaser was awesome.
Damn Sandman is huge! The new Green Goblin costume looks lame.
-
I thought his name was Hobgoblin, or am I mistaken? So, four villains eh? Venom, Hobgoblin, and Sandman; maybe the last one will be that weird lizard guy? I can't remember his name.
-
It's an okay trailer though I'm still not feeling the suit.
-
@Mr.:
I thought his name was Hobgoblin, or am I mistaken?
No, he's still the Green Goblin.
-
The good news was that it was an amazing trailer. But I do have a couple complaints (outside "Harry's goblin suit"):
1. Why the heck does Sandman have to keep that stupid green-striped shirt? (though his powers gave me flashbacks to the Mummy…something tells me he still has to live up to the likes of Croc and Gaara)
2. Topher Grace as Eddie Brock...nope, I don't really see it. -
All I can say is I wish they kept the old goblin costume….
-
I like Harry's Goblin suit a lot better than Norman's POS. 'sides, it's got purple on it too.
Can't wait for the movie now, looks to be very good.

Here's my big question…...
Since PP is going all emo and battling himself/symbiot(sp) and we have to sit and watch that crap.....how much time is left for Venom??? Is he gonna be some force that pops up just as the grand finale? So much hatred would I feel.
-
I'm sort of wondering how they can fit all this flashbang in and still have a coherent movie, actually. Huge huge love for Spiderman 2, don't want it to turn into a plain old popcorn fest with all these villains. Not that I don't love a good rumble, but…
trusts Raimi for all she is worth

actually as I understand it this movie will not be featuring Venom as a villian. It will be setting him up for a fourth movie.

What are you smokin'? <<
The trailer looked great. I just loved the sandman coming out of the side of the building.
Heres to a longer with more footage trailer!

I kinda hope it doesn't come to that.

Well, there lies a great deal of speculation on both sides.
However….
Back when the buzz about the villains being revealed was discussed, Raimi still spoke of the films as a trilogy.
IGN today made all sorts of claims of a 4th installment but this contradicts their reports and Raimi's own words from about a year ago.
While that could all easily change in a moment in Hollywood I'm wary of what the outcome will be. If they make fans wait another 3 or so years for Venom it would be a disgusting cock-tease. Especially since I've only tolerated the Spiderman films to date in slobbering anticipation of Venom.
-
From what I've read so far, Venom's not going to show up until the final showdown (LAME). But you can see the belltower in the trailer and that should definitely clue in anyone that Spidey won't be all Myspace for the whole movie.
(Apparently Venom won't be in it THAT much because Raimi doesn't like Venom O_o;)
EDIT – it took me like five rewatches of this to realize that THAT was Eric Foreman. Holy shit they really jockified Eric Foreman. o__O
-

How would that be lame? That'd be an awesome finale. The way I see it working is that it would be the ultimate test for Peter to fight the very thing that corrupted him. Plus it's supposed to be a ten-minute showdown. Ten minutes is quite a good chunk of fighting.
As for Venom, sure he's cool and all (one of my favorites) but he isn't the best Spidey villian. He hasn't done nearly as much damage as Dr. Octopus and Green Goblin have to Spidey.
@Buuhan: Sandman comes out of the back of a sand truck, not the side of a building. :P

I like all that internal conflict stuff. As for Venom, I know for some, he's really cool, but to me, he's just another villain. As long as the movie has a good story, that's all I care about.
-
What I'm really wondering is: how are they going to tie together Sandman, the Green Goblin II, and Venom? They managed to tie Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow together quite nicely for Batman Begins, but these three villains are just too different from each other.
-

LAME!
How would that be lame?
Because I don't wanna watch the boring MySpace (Thanks Carly) PP thing for 2 hours when half the film could be spent on knock-down drag-out war between the two.
I like all that internal conflict stuff.
I'm not a fan. In fact for the past two movies all PP has done is be a hesitant weiner who's attempts at protecting people are really, really lame. If he had more confidence in himself then from Day 1 he should have gone for MJ knowing that he could take care of her no matter what.
I don't dig the "incredibly powerful and lucky guy that beats himself up continuously" storyline. Just not my scene. Of course it makes for great 'drama' and goes down great with the public.
I guess to draw an analogy, it's like watching [Japanese] Goku stand in place going, "Kkkkkkk! KkkkkkKKKKkkkkkkk! KKKKKKKkkkkkkkKKKKKKK!", while he could be doing something productive/cool.
-

Easy solution: Go watch the Venom episodes of the Fox cartoon if that's all you want.

He's a teenager, what did you expect?

I did when I was in like high school. Now I wanna see that….but for reals.
He's a teenager, what did you expect?
Yeah, with the power to save the World. Maybe it's just me. I must have missed the awkward and overly self-conscious teen years completely.
MJ throws herself at him time and again and all he can do is turn away. Please. If he's got the balls to jump off buildings he shoulda gone for her in movie 1.
Regardless I am indeed looking forward to the film. But little to no Venom would make me a sad panda.
-
Is it just me or does emo Parker have a hilter haircut?
-
I'm actually glad Venom won't appear until the end and the fourth movie. Trying to cram the symbiote AND Venom into a two ish hour slot would ruin them. Heck, when I first heard rumours about Venom and the symbiote being in three I kept saying it would be better to split it into "two parts".
Harry's costume is… iffy. It could work (perhaps he was using a prototype) but I really need to see more pictures.
But I loved it so far and can't wait to see more.
-

I would have agreed with this before I saw Batman Begins. I know the board is firmly divided on that film but I stand on the side that gapes in awe at what they accomplished in the given time with multiple villains. It could happen here too if done well.
And I trust Raimi in that respect.
-
I really hope they put Venom in. Sandman as a standalone villain is kinda lame, and Harry really won't know what he's doing as GGII.
But as it was stated before, Venom isn't really liked by Raimi. I remember Raimi calling him a 'crap character' in an interview around when Spidey 2 came out.
-
He could have been lying to make people think Venom would never be in the Spider-Man movies.
-
They might just have a final battle where Spidey fights both Sandman and Venom with Harry coming in later to help him.
-
How I reckon the story will pan out…
! All the build up..
Prisoner Escapes
MJ and PP get something on
JJJ is pissed off, first sighting of Eddie
Scenes of Harry working onfirst version of GG suit'
Then some of the main plot points..
'Prisoner becomes sandman, tries out his new powers
PP gets his black suit and tests it out all around his first encounters with GS, we also notice some bad things happening with the suit.
Eddie starts his investigating about MJ
The new GG tries out his equipment'
! Then all the big parts..
Sandman attacks Spidey and probably mets GG along the way, GS gets taken and Spidey has to save her. SM and GG get defeated
PP realises the suit is bad for him and tries to fight it off
Eddie finds out about MJ and Spidey and follows him to the bell tower where he realises it is Parker
Then all the venom stuff happens..
! Then the teasing part..
About 5/15 mins of venom before some cliffhanger ending which leads to the 4th film. That's just how I feel the film will play out. There are no scenes of Venom or any real hint at Venom in the trailer because this film is most likely aimed at people who haven't followed the story too much and therefore won't see Venom coming, thus these people will be highly excited at seeing a cliffhanger ending with him..
Just my opinion.
-
^^ (Psst. Gwen Stacey's there too. She's the blonde chick. Presumably going to fuck up Peter/MJ relations.)
-
well if anything, MJ will die in this movie. Either that or Gwen will, so sad for a character to die just when we get to know her. Either way I predict that one of the female characters won't be in the fourth movie and if MJ dies at the hands of vemon. It would give Spider-man a reason to fight him even more, adding to the fourth movies storyline even more.
-
Well, the trailer looks cool. ^^ I'll wait to see the movie before commenting on whether the villains are handled well and whether emo Spiderman is good or tiresome. XD
-
^^ (Psst. Gwen Stacey's there too. She's the blonde chick. Presumably going to fuck up Peter/MJ relations.)
I know, I mentioned her. She is GS
-
I think it was confirmed that Gwen Stacey won't die (in this film, at least).
I'm hoping that Venom doesn't die at the end, like the villains in the previous two movies, because then, he would only play a minor role in the movies, and it would pretty much ruin any chance of Carnage.
-
Ok, since Sam Raimi and Tobey McGuire n co's contracts were for 3 movies, I don't see the point of making Venom appear at the end to set up the next movie.
I read on Superherohype that there would be 4 villains in the movie according to the ex president of the company making the film.. and logically (at least in my mind) that means GG2, Sandman, Venom and Evil spiderman (suit). In which case I would seriously hope Venom has a large part, not just a cameo.
As I understood it, Sandman was the most fearsome enemy before the newer comics of the 80's-90's. Venom is the most fearsome (aside from Carnage) in the newer ones. If Sam Raimi puts them both in the movie and doesn't take advantage to use them both then he's a fool (which the man is not!) thus I believe Venom should have a good role.
Besides.. I really really really want to see Spidey taking on multiple baddies this movie.. Sandman & Venom teamup would kick too much ass not to be done XD. Anyway whatever this movie is.. it's worth my 10 dollars (would be 15 if they did Imax stupid studios) -

Yea so was Kristen Dunst for the three year contact, which is why I think that she could be the killed off character. Since Toby wouldn't leave the series since he is mainly the star and Raimi wouldn't leave either. As long as the movies don't go into the later Batman movies, which were pathetic, I'll still pay to go see them.
-
If MJ died off that would royally suck. Unless they decided to somehow go into a Gwen Peter relationship I would absolutely despise that decision. Peter Parker has always been the man for juggling 3 girls and being the married superhero like Mr Fantastic. If he loses that then he's just another dushbag that thinks he's funny but really isn't.
Spidey takes his real world frustrations out on his villains + their victims. Without marriage/love that's half the stuff he bitches and moans about!
-

No, that would be the Green Goblin and possibly Dr. Octopus.
-
by fearsome I meant powerful..
I always understood Doc Oc and GG as most memorable
-
Dr. Octopus turned Sandman into glass when he tried to betray the new Sinister Six. So yeah, while he is threatening he isn't Spidey's most dangerous foe.
-
i think he meant that Sandman powerwise was strongest meaning that his superpowers to control and become sand is the strongest of any spidey foe i mean compare Doc ocks power having four metal arms that can lift 3 tons each to being able to turn yourself into sand making you virtualy invunrerable to physical attacks and being able to control the density of your body to harden it and form it into weapons and also having superhuman strength which seems to be the better ?.
and that i would have to agree the title most powerful spidey villan comes to a toss up betwenn him and Electro but neither of them could ever be considered spideys most dangerous foe due to the fact that they never actualy done anything serious against spidey and that they arent to clever..
-
Well when Hydo & Sandman became the Mud Monster even Spider-MAn couldn't beat him directly.
-
thumbs up to wolfwood
-
Not sure if this has been brought up, but in this trailer:
There appears to be a dinosaur or reptile creature in there… Can it be Lizard? But then I heard people saying that trailer is fake and that was a scene from Jurassic Park... Can someone confirm it?
-
That trailer in the link is fake.
-
for the love of god.
the trailer posted to posts ago is just a clip show from the olf movies. oO;
THIS is the real trailer.
http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media/041/041073/vids_1.html
and topher grace is in i! YAY! he's in there fer a split second. CAN'T WAIT!
-
I have some speculations:
Spiderman has the black shuit in this one right? Therefore he's stronger then normal right? Well, that's probably why the Sandman is an ideal villian for this movie. With his "logia-like" sand abilities he could still fight a super version of Spiderman (abeit….evil?).
Also, I hear that Green Goblin is in this movie? I speculate that "venom" spiderman will decimate and nearly kill Harry at some point, due to the symbiote properties. Also, it's possible that Harry will help Peter will the symbiote at some point, and mean it's weakness is heat and sonics right? That's GG level weaponery.
Also, anyone surprised to see the kid from "That 7os Show" in this? I mean, I hear he's a good actor but he plays a wimp in that show.
