When it comes to team books if I like one character enough, then that is reason to read the story. Ares is that one character. Anyone badass enough to cut an Iron Man armor in half and use the rockets on the feet as a fuckiing gun to blast some more Iron Man armors in the face, gets my thumbs up.

RE: Western Comics thread
Okay the mighty avengers pic made me laugh. I actually like Mighty Avengers, when it does come out. I think the story isn't bad it's just really gotten behind on shipping. I like Ares, and Ms. Marvel and the Sentry. So I keep reading it.

RE: Bleach Discussion
wow the thing with Kenpachi looks awesome. My only thing is I am trying to not get excited cause Ichigo tends to fantasize about Kenpachi when he is near death and about to reawaken with some crazy power up. I am a little worried that is what is going on and instead of Kenpachi kicking Noitora's ass with his newly found Bankai we are going to get a powered up Ichigo kicking Noitora's ass. Meanwhile Noitora has yet to even release his true form yet which makes me feel that this fight has no end in sight and is going to last at least another month and a half two months. God I like Noitora but I wish he would just die.

RE: Bleach Dub Discussion
alright speaking as someone who watches a lot of dubs and has seen a lot of shit with Steve Blum. That is not Steve Blum. If it is Steve Blum then I would like every person who says he only does one role to take it back cause it sounds nothing like Steve Blum at all.

RE: Western Comics thread
I just like how obvious it is. I know many comic writers have had it in for Spiderman's marriage for a long time, always saying it ruined Spiderman (like him no longer being an "average guy" because he has a supermodel wife). It's just funny to me because it seems like a big "undo" button because they can't think of another way to fix it or something.
See that is my problem with this whole mess. They did fix it. If you look at the beginning of Strazsyski's run that is one of the first things he did was fix their relationship. He made them seem like they belong together and put soo much effort into making them work and making Spidey relatable to those that have that someone in their life. So really the problem isn't the relationship, it's the writers who are either too lazy or just plain not talented enough to make it work. I see this as a bit of a cop out really.
Although I can't say I am not reading and not planning on picking up all the shit coming out following this. I mean Steve Mcniven followed by Salvador Larocca on art, and I hear John Romita is going to come back for a story arc as well. Mmmmm Romita Spidey Mmmmm.

RE: Western Comics thread
OH! I didn't realise they were talking about a real life hurricane. I frankly can't think of any reason why it didn't click when I read the comic. Sorry about that.
I agree. I remember hearing about the Amazing Spider-Man issue which delt with 9/11 and I couldn't help but wonder why Marvel didn't just over look it like DC did. I doubt the friends and families of the victims would want to read heroes whining about how they couldn't stop it. Frankly it's a little sickening and I'd except better of them.
Frankly if you haven't read the issue you probably shouldn't criticize it. It wasn't whining about that shit. To be honest it was more a tribute to the real hero's of 911 and a commentary on the sensleness and loss of it all. Don't forget that the people working on that issue lived if not worked out of NYC. It was a very personal issue for a lot of people.
To be honest I found it very touching. It makes a lot of sense for Marvel to do this considering most of if not all of their hero's are based in New York City. To be honest I think it would have been callous not to acknowledge it.
On the flip side I think it would have been awkward for DC to do the same thing, since they don't have a New York City. What it all boils down to is the fact that Marvel exist's in our world. They have always had the same president as us in their comics and almost all of their cities are real cities. Where as DC is their own little world that is like ours but not.
Although I will admit the stuff with the villains was a bit much. If it had just been Kingpin there maybe shedding a tear, well that I could handle but Doom and Magneto were a bit much.

RE: Bleach Discussion
Yeah so far they have had several Ichigo's, Rukia, Renji, Byakuya, Orihime, Urahara in his captains uniform, Aizen, Gin, Hitsugaya, and of course the ones in the fourth set kira and Shuehei ( I still can't believe they threw him in the latest set cause he does absolutely nothing and there are soo many other characters that are involved in the story they could have done.

http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=291_152&products_id=1903 I found a preorder for this today. It is also on HLJ I love these trading figures sets. I would really love everyone of these, although I am a little dissappointed that they are wasting yet another figure on Hitsugaya in this set. so far he has been in every set except the second one and there are tons of characters they need in there. I would love an Ikkaku or Kenpachi.

Quick note on the Bagley thing as well, he is only filling in on might for that one arc. I believe Cho will be back for the next arc after. Very similar to how New Avengers started. I for one love Mark Bagley's art but I can see what you mean about it being very different from Cho's style.
