They are really doing top notch work here.
Does anyone know how well the anime is doing, what are the ratings and so on.
I just cannot see this not becoming something of a hit
DVR ratings they are beating the likes of DBS, Gintama.

My favorite part of the episode was actually the interaction that sweet mask had with the agent of H.A. And the video replay. I don't recall that scene being in the webcomic or redrawn version, but it was very nice to see that.
Other than that, the little kid cheering on LR brought me to tears eyes. Crying children trying to be brave always gets me in the feels. Ugh.
In case no one noticed that is the same kid Rider retrieved the balloon for.
I kinda wonder if the normies ever feel guilty for cheering on C class heroes in truly hopeless situations. Annoying crowd guy was kinda right. C listers are barely more able than a average person. Cheering on Mumen Rider with all that "You can do it!" Even though he was fully outclassed and they knew it, was pretty cruel in a way. He coulda died.

They should have escaped in the first place. Why were they still watching..
Sure he could have died, but "Heros" are something this is apart of this world with monsters and aliens. If they didn't have heros, they would all be dead in the first place. So even if he's C Class, cheering them on gives the people hope, it gives people something to believe in, a gut feeling of "there's always a chance!" even when there's not. I'd rather have that then the mindset of "welp I'm dead." every time a villain appears.
Yeah the point wasn't that they were egging him on. Mumen Rider plainly stated that he knew that nobody actually expects him to win that fight. The reason why we all love and adore him is that he knows that the odds are against him and he chooses to stick around because someone's gotta do it anyway. Like how firemen are the ones that rush towards a fire instead of away from them. It's just their way of acknowledging that he really does represent what it means to be a hero.
Respect.

Exactly. It's not about pragmatically weighing and measuring costs and risks, it's about standing up for what you believe in when no one else will or can. That kind of drive becomes all the more potent when you realize that this story world is one where both monster and hero alike can be empowered by that kind of will.

It was in the redrawn version, I can assure, though it was more condensed.
Nakamura's acting for Rider was amazing.
I'm glad they brought veterans for Licenseless Rider and Deep Sea King.

VAs are on point.
Depp Sea King's voicework was ace.
I wonder if mummen rider is next Saitama, like what if he would have punched this monster after all this cheering?

Hello Aohige:
Could you please reply my private message please?
Look, I usually ignore PMs asking me to translate manga.
Because people keep asking me this and I'm sick of it.
You guys think OPM will get a second season?
By late 2018 IMO.
2016 we get 6 OVAs.
By 2017 I expect some of the extra chapters being animated.
Is the redrawn manga pretty much a better drawn, slightly more paced version of the original? Like are there any plot changes?
I'm asking becuase I read the first chapter from both versions and I loved it.
Same question goes for the Anime too.

Well yeah it is much better drawn though original has its own unique charm but lets be honest there is world of difference on art between original and redrawn, original is more like raw script and art is very abstract and rugged compared mind blowing quality of Murata's art what is pretty much sex on the eyes.
There is extras in redrawn but those are done by ONE's blessing and by his instructions so they are enriching story rather than deviating it, the core plot stays same so you wont miss a thing by reading redrawn. But if you don't mind spoiling yourself you could check out ONE's version its a bit of ahead of redrawn but if you can enjoy bigger impact on chapters if you stick on redrawn and not spoiling yourself of oncoming plot.

It has some minor differnces. In the original, Ricenssless Rider never went to dine with Saiatama after Sea King.
Sweet Mask also doesn't have control over who goes up the ranking and who doesn't.
A couple of scenes are also introduced in the fights. Saitama going to the moon is an example.
The original has a lot of charm though. You might have some dificulty reading the first chapters, but you will get used to it.
If you have read Mob Psycho 100,expect something like it. Slightly worse actually.
The latest arc changes many things from the original, to the point that some people thought it is being written by Murata (it isn't).

Original, then redraw, then anime.

Anime and/or redrawn.
Wow. I ended up rewatching the series without even noticing it. For some reason, especially in ep. 2 and 3, I just really love how the fire's done. Some of that was there in ep. 9, too.
This also made me remember that Genos doesn't get a fight scene during the Boros arc and that I really want season 2 for the confrontation between Genos and Sonic and the King arc (Genos vs. the robot).
But if you don't mind spoiling yourself you could check out ONE's version its a bit of ahead of redrawn but if you can enjoy bigger impact on chapters if you stick on redrawn and not spoiling yourself of oncoming plot.
Spoiling?
This is ONE's story and no one else's. You're not "spoiling" it by reading the original. You're seeing absolute true source material for the whole series. Everything else IS a derivative and nothing more.
Good god, why are you people so intent on trying to divorce the creator from his creation? One Punch Man is successful because ONE made it so, not because a bunch of Johnny-come-latelys drew some pretty pictures of it after the fact.
The disrespect is real.
Anime and/or redrawn.
Original has style that any One Punch Man fan needs to experience. Terribly stylish piece of fiction.
New version and Ones also have very different pace in my opinion.
While the original author is important because he, well, wrote the series, I feel like the art and animation also do play a big role with such a visual-reliant series like OPM.

Onepunch Man redraw was created so Ones imagination can get drawn to its full visual potential but its comical and nerdgasmic core is not its visuals but designs and ideas.
Well, if the characters weren't likeable and there wasn't any meaning in this whole thing, it'd just be eye candy, but I think the great visuals help a lot in conveying these characters and themes.

While true that visuals are both important facets to both versions, One's version, while not the immaculate eye candy that Murata can draw, has its own charm because of the style, is incredibly well paneled and paced in terms of the flow of fights, and in a sense, has a different flavor because of the unique art style.
I can agree but at same time remake is not as good in some areas - for example it is less funny with proper art.
Ones scribbles have a lot of charm that is impossible to copy.
I'm saying that because while it's obvious the layouts and designs and stuff are the same in the webcomic than in the manga and actually the invention of the original author, I feel like the improved art is actually a great bonus because of how visual-focused the series is.
The layout and paneling isn't the same lol. The plot and stuff, sure, but it isn't just a straight-up "HD version" with the same layout.
In other words I'm just saying there's merit to at least giving the original a chance. (but def giving the redraw, particularly the online versions with "animations" its due time)
From the stuff I read it mostly seemed the same, but I only read a little of it.
So far I prefer the manga because in my eyes the visuals help it, but the characters and themes (there is only a really simple story here, actually, lol) themselves are still really strong and that's what really matters.
The series will forever be proof for me that you could basically place your characters in a void and still make it amazing. the setting and plot of the series are extremely basic.
Spoiling?

That is purist way to view things, both are basically same story but that mindset its useless to read redrawn because even slight deviation to story and bonus material are met with scorn and disdain because it don't follow strictly the source material…its like Song of Ice and Fire reader watching Game of Thrones TV-series but rather than enjoying series he is getting constantly butthurt by any differences what he finds.
Good god, why are you people so intent on trying to divorce the creator from his creation? One Punch Man is successful because ONE made it so, not because a bunch of Johnny-come-latelys drew some pretty pictures of it after the fact.
ONE was never a manga artist until recently, and he started to draw OPM merely to his own enjoyment and to practice Comic Studio drawing program and he published first two chapters to internet almost as a joke to see how people would react it, he never even intended to make it a full series but it got very positive reaction but it was always more like a side project.Even still he was about to stop his job as manga artist and stop to draw manga but it was actually MURATA who contacted ONE and requested to redrawn OPM and encouraged ONE to keep drawing manga because he was clearly so good at it.
OPM would NEVER continued this far without Murata and its doubtful that even Mob Psycho would had this far either. Get your facts together before getting so massively butthurt. ONE is a brilliant mangaka and Murata is brilliant artist, One Punch Man would been dead long ago without either of them.
The disrespect is real.
Ignorance is real.
And to think that this was all just a one-off pun on anpanman
Murata's art is what made the series popular.
One's talent is what made it worthwhile. Its as easy as that.
So do you recommend reading the original, the redrawn, or watching the anime?
Redrawn first. I guess ig's the "easier" way to start. Amazing art and conserves the spirit of the original decently. You can also read it pretty fast. It doesn't have a lot of chapters.
If you enjoy it, try reading the original. You may find a strong love for it despite the art (it gives it some charm actually). It actually managed to give me a new perspective of the story, especially of Saitama (main character).
Then if you have time, bask in the glorious animation.

It's what I was going to do, once the story would be finished. But the anime came before that and it was toooo tempting… now the last to me will be reading the original.

Says the guy who claimed ONE is a liar for absolutely no reason.

I seen on 4chan that there is Lightspeed Flash cameo in this volume(dont wanna spoil so I wont tell what he did).
Even as its very small I am quite happy with him getting a bit of screentime before incomming arc where he is to me one of my absolutely favourite characters(One seems to really like him).
Volume ten will be sitting at my proxy for a month before I get to read it, since I already sent this month's haul off to me. :(
Looking forward to the Tat original.
Tatsumaki reminds me of Roka from D-frag.

Mkay.. Lighspeed is there as I heard, very very cool.
I would love to see Lightspeed Flash in action already..
He is one of heroes with biggest potential when it comes to action scenes.
