I know.
But can't blame a fan for wanting more.
Perhaps I'm looking too deep into this chapter, but I feel that there is some nice depth to it the more I think about it. Mainly how Bartolomeo concludes about Luffy seeing the Pirate King as being the most free person, the way they then decide to become his underlings freely, and the party.
Before Luffy got his crew members, all of them were reluctant to join at first. Zoro wasn't interested, Nami hated pirates, Sanji felt indebted to Zeff, and so on and so forth. The tipping point started when they saw the true side of Luffy. Nami is the most obvious example where she saw Luffy help the dog, and decided to join him despite being a pirate. In this case, we have the various people wanting to pledge their loyalty for Luffy, but the only reason at the time was they knew his strength. We get a good glimpse of this where Zoro tell them it's pointless, who knows Luffy, while the others are angry and confused. This is where we what needed to happen for them to truly join, which was seeing who Luffy really was. They learned that Luffy wasn't in it for fame or control, but for freedom. Like the crew members when seeing his true colors, they came to like him even more. In a nice little reverse twist, they use Luffy's logic to become his underlings anyways.
The group party ties into freedom nicely as well. When I think of the various big parties the straw hats have been a part of, it always ties into the concept of freedom. The first major party they had was at the end of Arlong Park. Everyone was celebrating the fact that they were free from the tyranny of Arlong. They had a feast with the Alabasta royal family, now free from the fear of an all out revolution. Skypeia had Enel finally gone, Water Seven had Robin finally free of the guilt that weighed her down. In this case, not only are these people part of Luffy in some way, but they are free to do what they wish. The celebration of the defeat of Doflamingo also is for the people being free of his control.
Now for the Fujitora scene, I think this is a turning point for his character. Fujitora had these plans to overturn the Shikibukai system, allowing destruction to happen just for that cause. He was also ready to take in Luffy to get back in and continue with his plans. In this chapter, it has been confirmed that Fujitora will not be going after Luffy now. This fits nicely into another theme that is somewhat prevalent in the series, that being putting your dreams on the stake of someone else. The obvious on going one is Shanks entrusting his hat and dreams to Luffy. Last chapter, Fujitora realized what kind of person Luffy really is, through the fight and the citizens reaction. We also learned how he viewed the world, where is was so bad he blinded himself. With how the events of Dressrosa unfolded, and the tightness of the WG, he realized that he could not hope to make a difference. Like Law and many others, he saw the storm of D brewing in Luffy. Instead of killing the storm, he realized that it would be best to allow it to grow. Luffy will gain more followers and influence, and eventually that storm will change the world. By seeing who Luffy was, he decided that Luffy destroying the status quo would be the best thing to happen. As such, I see Fujitora doing what he did during the bird cage incident, helping in some small ways but allowing Luffy to do all the work. As such, I don't think Fujitora will be showing up except for cover stories and cover pages until the EOS war.
Finally, while not anything to say the little bit with Rebecca and Kyros was a nice little touch. It pushes home the fact that Kyros is over his grief, and doesn't consider himself too dirty to hold Rebecca. The scene also cemented my like of the overall theme and story between the two, even if I had some problems with them individually.
As for next chapter, I am wondering if there will be anything Dressrosa related or not. There was focus on Riku taking back the throne and showing concern about everything. It would be weird if there wasn't a little more focus on that aspect in the end. After what Fujitora did this chapter, we could also get a little focus on what he will do now, possibly telling Akainu to shove off, he ain't going after the Straw Hats. On the other hand, Riku didn't get a whole lot of time focused on the arc, and like Viola was shafted after a little while. As such I can see him not getting time for a speech. As for Fujitora, we know he's not going after them and any information we might want about him would be given later. I could see Oda having a Fujitora focused cover story for some adventures as an exiled marine once the next arc starts. At this point, I feel we can only speculate what will happen next chapter and will only know when next chapter comes out.
Very well put Franky Tank. Now, hope we'll see a Fujitora vs Akainu clash…....
