So…
What about Diane?
Considering we Havent seeing Ban and Janko since chapter 126 IIRC, then we should be seeing Diane again by Christmas week.

Yeap, but King must not be happy.
Especially considering that she is becoming more and more amnesiac at each minute and was also attacked by demons.
She will be back in the plot when the time comes. He cannot tell all the plotlines at the same time
So the Fox's Sin of Greed meets a werefox. How fitting.
Never read Bandit Ban before, missed it somehow, I guess. It's very nice.
Don't have much of a problem with the way Nakaba writes. I can certainly understand the criticism and it's not something I'm oblivious to, but on the plus side, the plot has a steady, fast flow. Perhaps I would mind it more if SDS was finished and I was reading it in bulk.
Wonder if Ban gets to meet Commandments during the trip, and if so, which.
I see everyone's ok with Nakaba's narration style, so I guess it's just me that finds his choices weird.
I think it fits the way the sins deals (the characters) with their matters(except King). When concerned with other stuff it is a little more questionable but I'm used to Toriko. I adapt my attention span to the manga.
Yeah, but this is still a fantasy setting, with forests of fairies and stuff. And as I said, Byzel looks slightly unique just with that mountain range and stuff. I think he could come up with something, some landmarks, wathever. Still, no assistants is pretty hardcore. I think they'd do him well with the backgrounds, but everything else he's managing pretty awesomely, art wise.
Kamelott did have somehow recognizable(I think?), the capital too. Normal towns seems to be the real problem.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Zhivago_(novel)
Not like I think it has ties with this Zhivago in particular, but it's a nice choice for a name in a manga. Totally out of arcturian legends, though.
I thought I skip some awesome story about Zhivago in the gends of Arthur or something. But it does sound fine.
Oh, and this too. . .see? That's why we need hardcore fans that catch every single reference in a second.
Seems I have a long way to go before becoming hardcore. I remember those kind of details normally.
I only complain when the story on a manga degrades over time.
Nakaba was never an excellent writer so my expectatives are never high, I just read this like Toriko and without sweating the small stuff.
Why can't all the foxes be awesome as Fox from FOXHOUND?
Someone in OJ came up with the idea that the resurrected one was Matrona, since she was dead. But I'm not sure if it's good idea to add to the plot the idea of resurrection. I mean, it makes sense when Ban is looking for a way to resurrect Elaine, but it doesn't make much sense if Meliodas could, for instance, resurrect Liz. I mean, we'd have a tension between the reincarnation and the resurrection features. I suppose it makes much more sense if Liz keep dead, so Elizabeth keeps being solid character. And as for Ban, to me, the best solution is that Ban can join Elaine, once he manage to find a way to die. That would be pretty good storytelling: he's an immortal and his beloved is waiting for him beyond the limit between life and death, so to be with her beyond the death, he has to find a way to end his live. I think that would be as romantic as it was the Gaiden chapter. I suppose a way to introduce the idea of the resurrection with out affecting the plot lines would be to make the resurrected ones imperfect or vulnerable somehow or somehow less than a regular person.

Helbram was resurected 3 times so really I doubt Elaine is goign to stay dead. I expect Elizabeth to be the one to resurrect her at the end of the story.

Chapter is out on MS.
http://readms.com/r/the_seven_deadly_sins/140/2929/1
Touching chapter, this is miles better than Diane Gaiden. For some reason flashback reminded me of Corazon and Law flashback..
haha, I didn't even realize that was a ms link, as soon as I hit the second page and saw the word fuck, I realized what I was reading and felt immediate disgust, lol
Oh mangastream, never stop with your juvenile crap :D
Fuck you Stream for making Ban eat shit.
By the way, it has been a while since MS released their version before RH.
Redhawk version.
So much better.
Wait, how did they get out of prison?
You fucking bastards!
… Ups, I meant: good chapter!
@Shobu:
When Ban is around, i fucking love this shit.
Fix'd.
Chopper-level this chapter, almost to cry.
Werefox are to cute. How is it possible people wants to kill them.
Do you think Ban will make Zhivago drinks some of his blood ?

Nice summary. +1
I hated that flashback it felt rushed and poorly told. I usually don't mind Nakaba's writing but this chapter was just so blegh

First, I'm glad it was rushed because I didn't wanted to drag for one more week. Second, that was anything but poorly told, in fact it was better than the entire Diane Gaiden.

Hmmm. It was indeed rushed and no, it's never a bad thing when a good story is given enough time to satisfactorily develop. Hell, clocking it at 6 chapters, Law/Corazón flashback might've still needed an extra one to give it 100% full weight: the "montage of dead people dear to Law in 2 pages" is still hilariously overkill to this day, and investing more time to that scene to properly give it the dramatic weight it had the potential to have should've NEVER been a bad thing. And that was a flashback that devoted nearly 2 months to tell a story.
BUT, that being said, I don't think the emotions in this flashback were badly portrayed. It was accordingly cruel or touching depending on the situation, and Ban's relationship with Zhivago was surprising in how he's like the last you'd expect to share such an honest father-son relationship with someone. Things were probably a tad too convenient, aggravated by the blinding speed at which everything happened, but I wouldn't say it was necessarily bad. Indeed better than the Diane Gaiden.
I hate how the fountain of youth was just thrown in there, no build up to it or anything, no real reason that Zhivago wanted to get it other then it being pretty cool. Even Zhivago mentioning it as a possible means to help his son would have sufficed. But the way that it's just mentioned out of the blue just irks me. It's a similar feeling I had to last week's chapter, when one of the thugs yells something about Zhivago having something to do with revival powers when they were mugging. It's just jarring and takes me out of the story.
If the flashback was longer and gave certain scenes time to breathe then I might not dislike it as much. I definitely prefer the Diane gaiden because at least then we got to see more of the Giant's hometown Megadowzer, we got to see them training, and most importantly we got to see Diane's relationship with Matrona and with her fat giant friend. That's where I think the length of the Diane Gaiden helped and perhaps if it was two chapters I might have enjoyed this chapter more too. Ban's relationship with Zhivago went from random strangers to father-son relationship faster than it takes Kuina to fall down a flight of stairs. It just felt like a quick straightforward flashback and I personally wanted a lot more out of it than we got.
Loved this chapter.

Yes but that makes One Piece a 800 chapters series which has still at least 10 years to go. Nakaba doesn’t want this serie to be another never ending one and neither do I. And for me the best flashback of One Piece is Brook one which is one of the shortest.
I found that the chapter was very well told if you accept the final twist.
@Black leg, the fountain of youth is here just because Ban mentioned Zhivago in his gaiden.
I really liked the chapter. Somehow Nakaba manage to keep the reaveal surpring to me up to the last 4-5 pages and I'm glad to see Nan hug his dad/demonstrate his affection.
But Now I have to ask if that Ban subplot was a random side story? The only way that part could become important would be a commandment showing up.@Black:

The fountain seemed like a random story he was telling Ban. Not some goal he had. Kinda like telling a kid about the loch Ness monster or Santa.

true…i also liked it..short flashback but well executed.
Good chapter, but I agree with the sentiment that it was somewhat rushed. I think an extra three or four pages could have improved the flow better, but an extra chapter would have disrupted the natural pace of the flashback by delaying the reveal.

There's a connection already built up before:
Nope. It seems Zhivago taught Ban about ales and was an important person for him to find some kind of purpose in his life. He also knew about the Fairy forest's potential as a source of good ale. Which makes of him a promising character since he took a homeless child and taught him to drink alcohol! Wow! Luckily we'll have some plot line related to drinking and stuff.
But what I'm missing in the chapter is the lessons about the ale thing. After all it was Ban's serious purpose and in the gaiden it was very well portrayed given that he was not after the fountain of youth for it's magical powers but for what he could get to make good ale. It's a shame that part was not included in this flashback. Only issue I have.
Yeah, Nakaba, you can't deny us beer!
If Zhivago really is to die, I imagine they can share some good ale together first. During that time, we might get a short flash where Zhivago gives Ban his first quality ale or something.
Men bonding over beer, the feels…
I guess beer and little kid didn’t manage to pass censorship.
That can be overriden easilly, with a flashback of Zhivago describing the taste of an ale, but telling Ban he's too young to drink it. Not exactly rocket science.
I doubt it's that, though, seeing how Nakaba never misses a chance to show Mel sexually assaulting Elizabeth.
I wonder if that rich woman "Roxanne" is still around. Maybe she is into black magic now and will be the one to give a clue for the resurrection.

! Something tells me that is not Elaine.
! Something tells me that is not Elaine.
! It seems a soul of someone took Elaine body. Maybe she's now a zombie… The good news is that Ban is now directly involved in the war against the demons, since the soul took Elaine due to that commandment action... Well just a guess.
! Nothing related to King can go smooth, right?

Now Ban had a sister once. Great.
I've never seen an author that likes to make the main cast go through a lot of shit this much.
It's cool to see how relax Ban get around his father. So Ban is in his forties.
I wonder if the sister is going to play a role in the story. Jericho got sisterzoned.
I liked the last talk between Ban and his father. I guess he is going to continue to investigate. I wonder if Zivagho is going to be zombified( or the son).
I would say King takes a lot of shit. The rest is pretty standard in case of shitty stuff happening.
So a demon is resurrecting the people. I wonder if Elaine is ok or if she's a simple zombie. I'm sure somehow King is about to get screwed again. So sad I ruined the ending for myself.
This is an interesting twist. It seems the commandment has the power to open the Capital of Death, where Ealine was, which is the very same purgatory.
But this is a nightmare of resurrection; it must be very different from the resurrection the goddesses promised to Ban if he killed Mel; because those are zombies. And yes, the question now is what will Elaine do?
Somehow I felt a bit forced the words of Zhivago saying to Ban: "I know you, I'm you father"
Elaine is about to wreck shit next chapter.
If King has to kill her own sister he is going to turn crazy…
Even more crazy than he already is, I mean.
If King has to kill her own sister he is going to turn crazy…
Even more crazy than he already is, I mean.
King with 2 voices on his head just like abridged Piccolo. That would be gold.
It all depends if that Commandment is honest in declaring that those are the original souls, and if she's controlling them. If the first is false, Zhivago will probably come back to life. If she is controlling them, which I think is likely, then Elaine will be forced into evil. Otherwise Zhivago will stay dead and Elaine will be good.
