Well they only fought once. It's not like Shanks/Mihawk who fought many time or Roger/Whithebeard.
It was said they met once, fought and Moriah lost(and his crew got slaughtered). I think it was more of a Chinjao/Garp where they both had great reputation and Kaido came chasing after a good fight.
As far as i can remember there were no specifics mentioned on how many times they did fight.
All that was said was that Moria was once a match for/On equal footing with Kaido.
A reputation he would not get if the only time they fought he was annihilated.

thats one of the things why i love One Piece, it so makes the world way more enjoyable that not always the Straw-hats are in the focus, these after Arc Chapters are the best. thats a problem of a few mangas that are centred only about the main character. Kaidou is presented an he is actually visiting the other Supernovae Alliance, they want to defeat/kill a yonkou? now is there time, it probably never was that easy.

Kishido likes One Piece, and he also loves Bartolomeo. He's just been depressed the past 2+ years with Sanji's absence and generally poor showing.

So with Sheep's Head sporting that Jolly Roger I think we are all safe in assuming that is one of Kaidou's men. He was most certainly after that dog woman(does no one else think this is a Mink Man?) and Chopper and the gang were trying to save her and her friends. While I can't be sure(obviously), I think Chopper was hurrying Caesar because of his specialty in dealing with Smile.
This is one of Kaido's islands without a doubt and it's probably home to animal people and that's why he took it as his own. I think it could be Zou and maybe because of Bepo(potentially having local connections) it was a good hiding spot for Laws crew, right under Kaidou's nose. It almost seemed like they were just going to wait at the shore of the island for Law's crew but immediaty got tangled up in the business of the locals.
So back to Caesar. I bet there are smile users here who are going through some side affects and Chopper is hurrying Caesar along to help fix it. Probably people who were given unproven Smile as test subjects as opposed to loyal men of Kaidou's crew/army.
Oh and I think Zou/Mink Man island are one in the same. Zou is how you say/spell zoo in some Haitian Creole language.

Isn't this chapter a volume-ender though? I can't blame Oda for wanting to kill two birds with one stone if that's the case, just giving us a status update on the Sunny team along with the reader wondering what they've gotten into off-screen and ending on a pretty big note with the Kaidou reveal.
I don't think he has a devil fruit power; the marines like to use kairosaki cuffs of df users and since kaidou has escaped from the marines 9 times it seems as though he has some other physical ability that makes him unkillable– although (and I'm not a fan of the idea but it still must be mentioned) can he escape the birdcage?

The idea here is that there is a new generation of pirates out there that is trying to disband the old. Also, the amount of spotlight given to the KHA alliance does not correspond to an off-screen defeat.
The entire point of the Worst Generation is that the SH Pirates aren't the only ones doing shit out there. Or else, what's the point? Why give Kid equal standing to Luffy and Law at Sabaody?
They will succeed against against Shanks in some form, regardless of what happens. The story's theme favors the alliance, not Shanks.

I think he wants a "worthy" death, dignified and honorable like Whitebeard's and Zephyr's. Suicidal attempts are his way of boasting to others and himself that he is seemingly invincible. He makes a statement by showing others that even he himself can't kill himself, just to show off his powers. Otherwise he really would have killed himself. Unless he has an ultra rare ability that allows him to swim in the water with a devil fruit, then that would be really troublesome. If Blackbeard was able to defy a set in stone "Law" governing devil fruits and their general inability to coexist with another devil fruit from the same user, then I'm sure something about Kaido defies another well known law regarding devil fruits, inability to swim. The reason for Blackbeard was his body make up was unique or something, well if that's unique then Kaido is super unique, his physique is off the charts!

Kishido are you ever a glass half full kind of guy at any time? Are you not at the very least happy that Jinbe didn't have to come to the rescue of dying Swirly Hats? Aren't you glad they got out of that mess seemingly unharmed? You've been reading this story for so long you should be able to see that we will get some sort of flash back on their adventure. We've basically been put right in the middle of a chaotic situation where characters are talking about situations and people that we have no knowledge of, of course we'll get some exposition focusing on these events.
I for one am very happy to see my man Sanji and the Swirlyhats again. The escape-from-Big Mom flashback is a given. It's like being annoyed at everything is Kishido's gag/quirk now.

Im likely the newest member here so forgive me if what i say is repetitive. Kaidou looks to be somewhere between BB and WB in size i pictured a Kuma sized guy when he stood up not a giant. He DOES look like the Oars family and that might explain Morias obsession with the huge ogre like beasts. Did Aohige ever confirm that shes on the ship? Did anything that happened afterwards confirm that? And IF that was the case, why would it have been so bad if he did some fighting was done? Not like she herself would show up immediately because half of the crew of some pirate she think of as an ant wanted to fight. Also, was it ever stated that Lion turtle guy and Egg guy were the strongest underlings she had? Even Whitebeard had a shit ton of those and you wouldn't say that Luffy wouldnt be able to effortlessly kick their asses at this point.
And just so you know, Sanji isn't my favorite character, not even my favorite out of the strawhats lol.
HAHAHAHaa Looks like Hawkins is the only one who know who the fuck they're up against and also knows exactly how they'd get wrecked fast if they took him head on without a proper plan. The other two look oblivious to that fact or they're as fearless as Luffy, but I doubt it. Kid maybe, Apoo is quite cheeky too so who knows.
