Whaaaaaaaat, no Alessi?
Yeah, that was too obvious. This being said, is Polnareff confirmed (officially, that is)?
Also Steely Dan. -
A second demo? That's a new as far as I know, but I think it is needed. The first demo was so terrible that pretty much killed any interest people could have regarding this game (and it's not like it was that high even before that).
They seriously need to give us a new and completely revamped demo if they want the hype to be back and this game to not flop terribly just because people weren't bothered to even play it. -

Yes he is. But since Part 3 Dio is still not confirmed, I guess that there will be another Part 3 newcomer to be announced.

but watching Polnareff's last smile i can't help but feel that there's a bright future waiting ahead of him
Oh boy.

Well now having seen the whole anime of Star Dust crusaders, I think I like it a little more than the first time. Still near the bottom of the ranking, but like all the parts, it's still pretty good. I'll have to go into detail some other time about it. One thing I can say is that I appreciate Jotaro more. I forgot a number of his more subtle moments that allowed him to stand out. It's still hard for me to like him a lot, especially with colorful characters that surrounded him the whole series. He's not as bad as I originally thought though, so I have to retract some of the previous stuff I said about him.

No part 4 teaser, sadly
-
Boo at the no part 4 teaser, but I'm happy for the Clint Eastwood line and the Bo Derek/Al Yancovich references!

To celebrate the final episode.

Felt so good to finally see this animated as it should be.
PERFECTION. -
I guess they were right on saying they have not got Diamond is Unbreakable greenlit for production.
But I am sure maybe in the next 2 or 3 months we could get a short teaser of Josuke.
-
I suppose this is it. It's been a long journey, you guys. A lot of bad stuff happened.
But, I had fun.
EDIT: That was me trying to recite the airport scene.
-
Didn't the original airing of Part 2 lack the Part 3 teaser?
Edit: Nevermind, it had it. The only thing that was added in the disc release was the "To Be Continued" bit.

Better than sex !
-
mmmmm, disappointing. No Stand Proud playing during Dio's defeat? no switching into the ED when Joseph plugs in his walkman? Simple Shit, david. you keep making these rookie mistakes of missed opportunity.

Well, the game looks… fun. Lots of freedom. It doesn't seem like a serious fighting game or even a very good one but I appreciate the creativity of the developers.

N'Doul looks cool and Mariah reminds me of Emperor from Dissidia.
Is Rohan confirmed as Araki alter-ego now?
-
I do need to give Stardust Crusaders more credit than I gave it the first time around. After reading the whole series, I was pretty harsh towards the part as a whole. While some of it still stands, some of it was a bit unfair, coming more from a lack of memory in some way. Reading all seven parts and catching up to part 8 all in a 10 week period caused me to forget a lot of the details of the earlier parts. That said.
! Part of my criticism of Jotaro still stands, in that he is one of the less interesting MC's. Part of the problem being that a person who's defining features is always being calm and collected is surrounded by a colorful cast such as Polnareff, Kakyoin, and the returning best man himself, Joseph. Because of that, Jotaro is lost when it's mainly the other characters doing stuff. However, there is more to Jotaro than I gave him credit for. Despite his cool exterior, he does take things to heart. When the Lovers was humiliating him, he was holding in his anger and returned it ten fold. While he held his cool against D'arby the gambler, it was more out of rage that he was going in. Biggest one being losing his cool after Joseph died. He would find things funny at times, but there was only a few times he actually laughed out loud.
! The first half or so of the series is still something I don't care a whole lot for. Besides the Hang Man and Death 13, most of the fights are just not interesting. Some have good concepts, but I just didn't care for the fights. Once Iggy came in, things started to become a lot better. All the fights for the most part were interesting. Best fights for me were Pet Shop, Mariah, and Vanilla Ice. The rest were good in their own right, with Oingo and Boingo being a nice little comedy one.
! My major problem with this part is Dio though. He was great in the first part because of the build-up and his characterization. The problem is that it is lacking in this part. He is a shadow for most of the part until they confront him. The most we get is him talking to some people and philosophizing. We get told that he has a way of getting to people, but we mainly see the results, not how he does it. Saying that he has the devil's charm and his voice is enticing is not enough for me. When finally confronting him, he's mostly demanding the guy to drive, then gloating. It does help for when Dio gets what's coming for him, as seeing the smugness wiped away from his face is nice. Unfortunately, I had no attachment to Dio being the actual villain. The most we had was he had to be defeated to save Holly. Unfortunately I had little to no emotional connection to that aspect. Add in there wasn't a whole lot to connect Dio and Jotaro like Dio and Jonathon, he just falls flat as a villain. I would be much harsher, but his characterization from the first part helps. If it was a random person we didn't know before, it wouldn't have worked before. So overall it's a solid part, but the few problems I have with it make me enjoy it less. I do have to give it credit for being the first part where all of the party members had a chance to shine, and there were some nice powerful moments.
Honorable mentions go to all of Josephs Engrish moments, and the scene of Kakyoin and Polnareff's bro moment (the scene where Polnareff makes a sign and Kakyoin respond "your underware is showing". The next ten seconds after that are golden.)
-
I disagree with your point that Dio doesn't "connect" with Joseph as well as Jonathan. I would even argue that his connection to Dio is stronger than Jonathan's (but only from his POV). Think of it like this: ever since he was young, Joseph has known Dio as the guy who
1. killed his grandfather, ruining his grandmother's life when she was merely, what, 20 years old
2. killed his great-grandfather
3. indirectly killed his best friend's grandfather
4. indirectly killed his father, leaving his mother a widow at a young age
5. indirectly corrupted Straizo into "killing" his uncle, SpeedwagonAnd now, fifty years later, Dio is a threat to his daughter's life. Not to mention he brainwashed people, had Enya assassinated, indirectly killed two of his friends and one directly, and caused a carnage in general. Dio in return sees Joseph as the leader of the Joestar group as evidenced by the fact that he and his minions usually refer to them as "Joestar and the others".
If anything, seeing them finally face off after fifty years was the most interesting part of the battle (for me), and them fighting each other was something I had wanted to see since Battle Tendency.

You bring up good points, and I can't argue against that. For some reason, it just didn't work for me and I can't articulate why. It might just be my bias popping out again.
edit: Actually, I can say a little why. You brought up very good points about Joseph, however, this is Jotaro's part. Joseph played a role, but the whole time you know that Jotaro is the one who will defeat Dio in the end. While Joseph has all these reasons and connections, you don't quite get that with Jotaro. Factor in Jotaro not being nearly as interesting as Joseph, my impressions overall were weakened. I'm not saying it's bad, I liked the fight overall, and the part overall was good. I just felt Dio overall was a weaker villain in part 3 compared to part 1. I hope that makes more sense.
-
It was in poor character for Joseph to not beat Elder Darby, come on, he only used the "Next thing you are going to say" ONCE against the tumor stand. That's not fair.

Oh right, I forgot you were talking about Jotaro as well as Joseph. I agree with what you're saying regarding him, Jotaro and Dio don't really have an interesting hero-villain dynamic besides being polar opposites in some ways. I do like Jotaro as a character, but I feel that most of the time he's an instant-win button (most obviously when he defeats Justice and later on, High Priestess).
IMO Dio in part 3 is more entertaining than in part 1 because of all the crazy, ridiculously evil stuff he does, but part 1 Dio is more well-written.
@ maxterdexter: Eh, Joseph is approaching 70 and D'Arby is ridiculously well-prepared, wasn't it established that the whole bar was secretly on his side? That is nuts.

Where is my GET BACK, that was the best part!

New gameplay video for Eyes of Heaven:

So this happened.

Al Yankovic for Part 4 ending

^"Tacky" would be a perfect song for Part 5

We need Stands named after Weird Al songs.
-
I just realized we yet don't have a stand named after Iron Maiden.
-
Ooh! Stands named after Nursery Rhymes.
-
Stands named after OSTs?
-
Stands named as characters in songs?
-
Araki is becoming a specialist in creating creepy like fuck stand.
THIS WEEK, IN JOJOLION!

Finally watched the last episode.
I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me, but the last fight was so much better in the OVAs and in the manga. This time I just couldn't feel it… not to mention I was bothered all the time by how long a second was in the frozen time and by the fact that Dio just looked pathetic the whole episode. It was really a shame to see that charming and charismatic villain from Phantom Blood becoming... that.
Btw, Jotaro got some BALLS OF PURE GOLD!!! for getting in another plane with Joseph, gotta give him that.

Chapter 44 spoilers.

! At least Jo2uke had the pompadour before the fusion.

Ok, can anyone tell me WTF is this thing on Dio´s shoulder?

Seriously it's just a random bird though the anime, with the benefit of hindsight, put Pet Shop there.
-
Ahah, yeah, but he looks so derpy.
It´s like Pet Shop begged Dio to give us idiot cousin a job so he could put in his curriculum. -
In an interview Araki confirmed that many things where change from the start of part 3 till the end. Like Dio's the World, was going to have all the stand powers etc. So that bird was probably an early version of Pet Shop Boys.
-
but Araki does that like…everytime, right? Plots being forgotten, inconsistency... They are part of this series charm.
-

I disagree, imo these inconsistenies are keeping Jojo from being a legendary series, instead of just being an iconic one.
It just shows how little Araki cares about the universe he created, he just wants to tell the story that is currently in his mind, but lets it fall like a hot potato after he comes up with a new one, without return. -
Inconsistent as hell has worked wonders for Toriyama.
