I was 6/8 on picks, 1/8 on exact record from the first round.
(1) Warriors vs. (5) Grizzlies Who wins: Warriors in 5
Both teams got a bit of rest but I think the Warriors will be able to handle the Grizzlies. Memphis is better on offense this season than years past, but the GS defense is going to make us think otherwise. I think GS blows them out at least twice. The Randolph/Green matchup should be awesome though. I predict at least 3 techs between the two of them. These are two great teams, but I expect this series to be the least competitive.
(1) Hawks vs. (5) Wizards Who wins: Hawks in 7
As much as I want the Wizards to win, I think they are barely overmatched here. Their performance against the Hawks in the season is similar to how they fared against the Raptors, but the Raptors suck so the logic is thrown out the window. Apparently Carroll is playing like an All-Star so who knows if anyone on Wizards will be able to cover him in a 7 game series. And who is going to chase Korver all game for that matter. Good luck Wizards, I'd love to proven wrong.
Sunday's Game 1s are pedestrian compared to Monday's. Even though its the weekend I bet the ratings for the other two Game 1s will be higher
(2) Cavaliers vs. (3) Bulls Who wins: Bulls in 7
The Bulls need to make the Cavs average defense look as advertised if they want to win the series. Even with Love healthy, I would have picked the Bulls win this matchup. The Cavaliers can manufacture offense with or without Love and have quite a few (won) games under their belt with their third star sitting on the bench. Defensively, he won't be missed at all against the 3 headed (but inconsistent) monster frontcourt of the Bulls. Thompson will probably get lit up as well but at least he can alter shots from time to time. This series will be a lot of fun to watch, but I don't think the duo of James/Irving will be enough to win 4 games. If they do, I expect some butthurt fans to blame the refs
(2) Rockets vs. (3) Clippers Who wins: Clippers in 5
I'll be bold with one of my picks. The Clippers will lose Game 1 then win the next 4. The series will most likely hinge on the Rocket's defense against Griffin. If Howard is put on him, who is boxing out Jordan all game? If it's not Howard defending him, will Smith be able to hold him at bay? On the other end, Harden is sure to play with an extra fire after being named mvp Runner Up. Let's see how many times Matt Barnes fouls out and how many times Doc angrily paces up and down the sidelines.
