How was your Day 2 (general chat)

More like finding a macaw.:ninja:

Wait, whaaaa- I MEAN NO THAT IS A PARROT. THAT IS SO OBVIOUSLY A PARROT. I DID NOT SPEND MY PAST FOUR YEARS ON THIS FORUM MISINTERPRETING THAT STUPID BIRD ON HIS AVATAR.
-
Yesterday: Good. Showed my dad the community college I'll be attending starting in August. It's really idyllic, detached from the city and pretty much next to a lake and a huge forest. On the way home we found a flea market, I bought two movies: an Akira Kurosawa/Toshiro Mifune flick (Akahige aka Red beard) and a Swedish mystery movie (Solstorm, lit. "Sun storm") for pretty much nothing.
Today: Decent day all in all, I'm hyped for the MGSV trailer.EDIT: I just added stuff to my about page on this forum.

Wow you'd think more people would wait for Dryish's return like Apollo 13's safe return but apparently not.
Or maybe this thread's too lame. :(
-
I don't even know who Dryish is…

Work: Almost over with the photos, just 800 more and it´s done, with enough work I think we will finish this work in this week. This is my second time working with old things (my first time was with old books in my old job in the library of poems). So far, I´m doing great, but I do feel a cold sweat every time I have to work with fragile things.
I'm really enjoying the atmosphere of the place, I can´t say that the co-workers are my friends, but they are nice with me and we even have some inside jokes (at first I thought that the difference of age would make things difficult).
Life: It´s so nice to see my father doing well and having fun, he deserves this. Still I worry about him, but I like to care for him.
He had a time of his life in the show (and so did I).

Holy crap Dryish lives.
I thought you turned into a parrot.

Our beloved parrotman. :)

In all seriousness, a very articulate and wise senior member.

I had my first session with my mental health therapist today, which went well. Talking about my problems to a professional felt cathartic. I only wish I had done this sooner.
3 Stanley Cup Titles in 6 years for the Blackhawks! Can you guys say dynasty? This cup win is probably the most special, since this one was won at home. We're in the midst of the Kane and Toews era! LETS GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!
-
Not gonna matter when the Kings win next year and make it 3 in 5.
Also nothing like enjoying your first Monday off since graduating college like cleaning your house in near hundred degree heat and watching all the video game conferences. Making those degrees I got matter.
-
I was going to go fishing with some other people but I don't really care for them. I love fishing though, it must be at least ten years since the last time I did it.
And on another note, today marks my fifth year as an APF member.

Dude, literally YESTERDAY I was wondering where Dryish could be.
Such timing!
-
Was going to take the GRE today, but the testing center went with the idea that Houston was going to have bad storms today and cancelled. Now I'm scheduled for Monday at 7:30am in Downtown instead of a closer place, since it's the only place and time available before I leave for offshore again Tuesday.

At home. Not that it would be safe to go outside because a tiger killed a man and more escaped animals are running around. Degenerates in charge had falsely reported that no more predators from the zoo were at large when that was not the case.
Curfews, morons, how does that mythical stuff work?
It sucks to have to depend on a government this incompetent.

Some people claim of seeing black big cat around streets :3
Really though, I wanna go out… it all would be alright, if some bastards knew how to count and some other bastards knew how to check things.
Or if they just stopped lying >.< -

Rule of thumb on message boards: Always assume poster is American (preferably WASP) until new information is acquired.
God knows I have how many people mistake me for being white before lol.

I don't like to flood this thread with my posts ¬¬, and my life is not even that eventual, I just like to end what I have started.
Work: From the look of things, we won't be able to finish to digitize the photographs in this week, it's already thursday and we still have 500 photos to work with. Well, Its better this way, I don´t like to rush things, especially with fragile/important things.
The T-shirts finally arrived, I was surprised that my shirt fit perfectly, my co-workers said that the next karaoke competition, we are going to use them as uniform.Life: WOW…I almost forgot that its June already, time to visit some folk festivals around my city.
There's going to be a 48 hours marathon of free cultural events in my city. My face when I took notice of a brazilian band that plays Irish folk songs are going to make a free concert right next to my house, lucky me.
And to finish things, my copy of "The king in yellow" has finally arrived, let´s see if this book is terrifying to the point of making "Charles Baudelaire" look like a walk in the park.

HEY !! Are you calling my posts silly ? :ninja:
Do know I will hunt you in the night.
-
Pffffft. Like as if any of your posts could get sillier than what I posted in that aforementioned thread.
Seriously, rereading its like someone squashed together 10 different posters' writing styles.
-
I see, well, thanks for making it clearer for me.
(I will still hunt you). -
A week ago I randomly developed two stringing, irritable rashes under each armpit. Slight bumping and swelling too.
I tried creams, I tried soaking them, etc. But every day they were just as coarse, dry, and painful.I finally had enough and went to the chemist today, to see a consultant and get some proper treatment.
When I showed him my armpits he immediately said that they were burned (chemically). So long explanation short, he says that I'm probably allergic to Aluminium Chloro-hydrate, which is found in most deodorants.
Guess I'll switch to talc powder or something. -

White, male and American.
Don´t ask me why.About Zephos, quoting his wiki page:
"Contrary to popular belief, he is not black, despite 1000+ hip-hop albums listened to. His sarcastic dad is an American working in the same company with Oda's wife's high school friend's husband while his mom is Japanese. "I´m not sure if this is actually factual or just a joke.
Quick gang, let´s find out!–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Out of sheer curiosity, what exactly will you sing?
Mostly brazilian songs (I think I can risk some english songs ).
The karaoke bar that we go has anime songs in their repertoire, but I am NOT going to sing those songs in a competition, only for fun and only if its from fripSide.
Ah, today I had a free time and played Guile's theme in my accordion, I forgot how much I like this song, despíte all the meme that surround it.
-
I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
for the remainder of summerI don't want to see Scandinavian literature for some time~
My head and legs are killing me though, ugh
-
I'm not sure where else in the world Midsummer Eve (Midsommarafton) is an actual thing but it's a holiday that Swedes
. Our politicians want us to think that Sweden has no culture of its own but really, what other nation dances around a pole while pretending to be frogs and wearing crowns made out of flowers once a year? (I don't think I've participated for at least 13 years though)Anyway, I had tea with my grandparents (love them) and then finished JJBA: Stardust Crusaders with my brother. A good day.
-
Meh! Sweden is so deeply and throughly ingrained with it's own strange culture that we think we have none.
Like all the objectively weird shit that we do is just "normal" and we can't see our own quirks.
-
Just survived another week of hell at work and now I'm looking forward to relaxing.
Btw, my 31st birthday is tomorrow…...yay. -_-
For some reason, I'm not really looking forward since it won't be anything special.
-

Pffft, you think you guys have it bad? How about you try coming down to Singapore where we have virtually no culture at all?
Seriously, the sheer banality was infamous enough that it produced this.
Oh and in true Singaporean PR fashion, we responded to Mr. Gibson's scathing but insightful analysis by banning the WIRED publication from selling copies of their magazine on our shores (until recently). Seriously, it's like we have no concept of the word "irony".
-
Work: Yeah !! Just 300 more photos and we are done !! I´m sure that we are going to finish to digitize all the photographs next week.
Life: About the cultural marathon, the museum will participate, but the only things that are going to happen there are some children's theater plays/"Festa Junina" tents. Since I am too old for both, I will go to the Irish folk concert + Cosplay competition instead.
This is the next song I'm practicing the choreography, I have to create new ones, since the original choreography is kinda limited.
Edit: June 20th: Just came back from the Irish folk concert, WOW…I loved, every part of it. Here is a example of a song I enjoyed.
HAHA, I even danced quadrilha, ahaha, I thought I was too old for that, guess I was wrong. In the end, I met André Matos (Angra, Shaman), nice guy. The cosplay contest will happen tomorrow. And to finish things, I was invited to a wine degustation, OH..I'm so classy..:ninja: Where are my top hat and monocle ? I should "upgrade" my name to Lord/Sir Ugly ? AHAHAH -
I finally, finally started watching Hunter x Hunter (on Crunchyroll). Hisoka is great but I prefer the protagonist quartet of Yu Yu Hakusho.
Had a decent day besides that.
-
Back from the cosplay contest, nah, it was ok, not as much cosplayers as I was expecting, but it was nice. I made new friends there also, they liked my customized backpack, and they play LoL too, so it was easy to start a conversation. After that, I went to see Highlander with a live orchestra playing the soundtrack, nice.
Well, the marathon of culture is over, back to work in the library + Help with the 80's video games exposition.
Another thing, I am thinking of lending a book to the doorman that works in the place I live, ha..now I have to find a good book for him, not those "boring" and "complicated" books I usually read.

I broke both my legs earlier today falling down the stairs and will be spending the rest of the night in the hospital. So I decided to kill my time with reading up a little bit on the shooting in South Carolina and it's flabbergasting how sickening and retarded many of these people's responses are. Deciding to not subject myself to more emotional trauma, I have now sworn an oath to shave my head, stay away from electronics for a few days and go vegan for the rest of the week. Wish me luck.
-
I have no idea how much of that post is sarcasm.

WOW…You made bold promises to yourself, I hope you don't break these promises.
If you want to change because of a trauma, its always ok, but first you have to know beforehand if you are capable of doing those drastic changes. -
I celebrated Fathers Day at my aunt's house with other family members today. He had fried chicken, cornbread, salad, and jambalaya rice (my uncle by marriage is from Ghana).
Me, my mother and grandmother are heading to Las Vegas tomorrow morning, and will be there for three days for a family reunion.

Got my GRE test done this morning. Got a 153 in the verbal section and 152 in the Quantitative section. That's about average for both sections. Going to need to take it again to get a better score if I want a chance for my preferred schools.
-
I kinda wish I had a camera right now since the sky's a very interesting shade of yellow, like God peed all over everything.

Work: 150 photos to go, almost over.

Too busy throwing out summer storms and tornado watches.
