That said, yes, obviously Oda is going to try and have as visually diverse a group as possible, so yes, the remaining member probably will have purple or white hair,.
But that's not a "pattern" nor does it exclude anyone by default, especially given its a black and white manga, and you can have different shades of the same color.Light blue is considerably different than dark blue for instance.
And Chopper's color theme is pink even though his fur is brown.
No one is going to have Red however. That's Shank's special screentone color.
(Not to mention that his version of Jinbe and the anime's go differently, and Brook's hair has been dyed pink before.
To start off, I like playing devil's advocate. Your retorts and knowledgeable opinions from facts are top notch. I believe your conclusions are correct about the next crewmates and other discussions. But if I end it there then that would be no fun.
A pattern can be anywhere…be it intended or not. A pattern by definition : something that happens in a regular and repeated way. It does not state intent. It only needs to be consistent. Using a conjunction is NOT disallowed by definition. Now you could point out having too many conjunctions makes the "pattern" improbable for Oda to come up with AND stick with while trying to be creative and free. I might have used too many conjunctions in my argument. For shame on me.:sad:
By the way I like theory over pattern. I could say the color theory is a crewmate will have black or unique color hair but random (to us not the author) choosing of what color is next. This has an ambiguity that is harder to argue against. The word pattern is eh...too stringent and restrictive.
And to your Shanks comment you've stated before. His hair color is NOT unique to only him. What do say about Eustass Kidd or Rockstar having red hair...hmmm? Maybe Luffy will have his own "cabin boy Shanks" like Gol D. Roger had and Roger found One Piece. Gotta have a red head or no One Piece prize. Shank's knows...that's why he has Rockstar. :ninja:
