Yep. With chapters six through nine, if they are in the bottom section consistently than the series hasn't been recieved to the editors standards. If Jump followed the surveys to a T, I bet you would see a lot more fluctuation, especially for established series. Say you have a couple hundred thousand per volume seller averaging around 15 in the Jump surveys, along with a couple of newcomers from a serialization round averaging about the same. You bet they will cancel those new series before the volume seller. Yes, big volume series have been cancelled before but there are a multitude of factors that decide cancellation. TOC placement is not definitive, but over time, you can see the general reception of a series.

-

eh, at this point you've gotta let people who obsess over shitting on things they don't like get on with it. Not worth the discussion.
-
Has anyone been able to decipher the 2chan reception for the new series?
-
It's funny because I feel the same way about Haikyuu and have successfully avoided it this whole time. From day one I knew I'd never be able to look at that black-haired main character dude and not want to punch him in the face.
-
For me Haikyu is a good serie thanks to its characters. But it is not something you can get into by reading only a few chapters.

Plus, Furudate is really good at using the panels, the organization, and the perspectives of the characters during the game. If a person expects something like superpower sports series (like Prince of Tennis and Kuroko), then s/he shouldn't read Haikyuu.

I got into it by reading 1 chapter alone! Haikyuu!! is a really well made sport manga that is good since the start!

Wait.
So Roggy is near the bottom even though it's not ranked and Clover is somehow over it?
???????????
-
-
@Kaizou:
What are you talking about that part?
That for some reason Jump thought it would be a good idea to put Clover higher than Roggy in the TOC, even though neither are ranked yet (correct me if I'm wrong).
-

Why do you think Roggy should be higher than BC (even though both of them are not ranked yet)?

Why do you think Roggy should be higher than BC (even though both of them are not ranked yet)?
Because second this threas Roggy was better than BC.
What is your opinion? -

What is your opinion?I'm just seeing there is no point to argue about the position for the series which are not ranked yet. Sure, some people can argue that Roggy should placed higher than BC while in those two are not ranked. But, I feel pointless if the actual ranking reflect opposite.
-
@Kaizou:
Why do you think Roggy should be higher than BC (even though both of them are not ranked yet)?
Because Clover is garbage and Roggy isn't.
And the editors place a series in the TOC depending on how long they think it's going to last, right (or at least how well they think it'll do; hence BnHA and AssClass being at or near the top from the very beginning)? From what I can see, it looks like they think Clover is going to do better than Roggy.
-
I feel like we've been here before.

Not really. Takujou no Ageha was placed fairly high place before it got ranked, but look at how it is doing now.

This situation right now is familiar.

Boku no Hero academia while not ranking was 2 consecutive times below Mitsuki Condor and Yoakemono, that were both also not ranked. Relax, and wait to see how the series do later.
Also note how Roggy ranked 14 from 19 titles, Boku no Hero ranked 2 times 13 from 20 titles. Everything is still really inconclusive!

Man I really want to see Cyborg Roggy succeed.
I don't want to be done with Roggy's character. -
TOCs are a bitch.

Roggy needs to introduce some backgrounds and settings, they are as barren as Kubo's and Rumiko's. And there hasn't really been anything to the AuGs yet. It hasn't been as compelling as Kagamaigami.
-
I hope Saitama punches that monster Umaru right in the face

In your opinion.
Of course it's my opinion, I said it. I don't have to preface all my posts with my opinion. In my opinion I love Tabat Yuuki's Art. In my opinion Kagamigami is the most complete of the new serialization. In my opinion the mangaka of Yoakemono is going to be a superstar.

Umaru isn't a monster is a Himouto! :3

This isn't worth bumping the Naruto thread, but Kishimoto has won the "Rookie of the Year" award in Japan.
-
That was a really long rookie period
-
It's almost redundant at that point.
-
It won the award because the Japanese government think Naruto considered a new growing power under media entertainment (heck, Naruto is actually first manga series which won that award).
-
If we are counting first serializations, then Oda is also a Rookie.
-

Really? That's kind of depressing.
Can you name any other winners of this award?
-
Can you name any other winners of this award?
This award is divided into 11 categories: theater, movie, music, dance, literature, art, broadcasting, entertainment, art promotion, critic, and media entertainment. Naruto has won under media entertainment.

sooooo Japanese kid who's a master of kung-fu, has a father who decides fiance for him, which he is reluctant to accept?
What is this, Ranma 1/4? Dude even has that same "ponytail boy with stereotypical chinese clothing" look.
