I can't see how Aizen couldn't have forseen Vandenreich and Bach.
Next thing we know, he wanted to become SK precisely because he knew the current one doesn't have what it takes to get rid of Bach. Of course, he also thought he's the only one fit for the job.
What does that remind me of? A villain being revealed to have been amassing an army solely to defend against a bigger evil? So many books, tv shows, movies and manga… I'll remember it soon enough.

Ukitake never amounted to anything but an asspull, but in this manga that's the best you can hope for.
Nazi's are surprised that person who wants to kill Soul King, who allows everything to exist, are going to die. Then again, if Bach is the Soul Kings son, he could've taken over the position himself. Then the whole Ukitake thing never would have needed to happen.

not really lol, i dont think doflamingos henchmen hurt anyone major, on the other hand the sternritter took out kensei and rose and forced komamura into using a forbidden technique that turned him literally into a puppy, and took out the royal guard and killed kira and yamamotos vice captain and turned hitsugaya and matsumoto into zombies, im just giving credit where its due ,

The point is more the fact that their actions had so few to do with the plot or sense at all other than dragging the arc (it wasnt necessary to have random zombified dudes, as it was unnecessary to hype some of them if they were to be swallowed at the end of it regardless). Lots of them were complete morons (Gremmy, twin brothers, groupie group, dude that watched renji sleep for hours, colonel sanders, cang du, pepe, the list goes on), while the doffy dudes were at least very unique and aside from the awful Machvise and Jora all of them had their time to do something instead of just being "names" to defeat.

they're probably in the same spot as hashwalth and uryu in that wooden cage they were in when they were first summoned, the royal guard are probably just knocked out and are gonna tag team with when urahara and co arrive ,

looks pretty decent (for what it is)? I know the first pic is basically just and inky eye, but this is one of the few instances where I think Kubos minimalistic approach to art works favorably, it looks eerie, I like that splattered ink look, as well as the shadows and furrows on the hand-eye statue. It reminds me of that pic with Flytousen standing with his back to the sun, making that insect sillhoutte look actually poignant. It's not often, but every once in a while he draws something that i genuinely like
So, Ukitake took Urahara's job of somehow always having a way to fix things, then? I guess goodbye Ukitake. We hardly knew you. That's probably why it's not that upsetting.

while i get where your coming from, i think its too early to judge , you still have 4 elites + hashwalth that that other shinigami can fight , and like i said before, its probably going to end up like FKT where every 1-3 shinigami take on 1 enemy ,,, urahara and aizen are saved up for juha and ichigo vs uryu is a given , and soifon + rukia + ikkaku + yumichika + renji are probably not gonna get as much panel time because they already played a part before, hisagi, kyoraku ,shinji, and byakuya are probably going to play the bigger role

Now that we know that Mimiagi Sama is Soul King arm and that he was missing all his legs and arms is very possible that the arc will evolve into a hunt for Soul King body parts. With that the arc and consequently the series will extend to a lot more chapters.
It seems Kubo's editor was right! "The arc is not as close to an end has you think".
Damnit Kubo, don't make your end boss an homage to Yu Gi Oh!
