The exact points on the game are a mess, right?
The 70 headband of last chapter was for the pair "beast" and ponytail, but beast alone is supposed to be 70.
Also, the sum of points, not counting Deku, is supposed to be 4305, but with the full billboard on chapter 28 is 4170, and in all of today's chapter, the total score is keept consistent on 3855, so from the first estimate to the first scoring there are 135 points missing, and from that to today there are 315 points missing.
Did someone destroy headbands, or just a mistake? (the author's or mine)
-
! Nice seeing Ashida doing something.

Hes not from class b he's from the Department of Regulars
So he wasn't the rider of his team? There's a Kendou here: http://bato.to/read/_/301423/boku-no-hero-academia_ch28_by_fallen-angels/18 clasified as class B, but yeah, I read back to his introduction and he claims to be from the regular curriculum department, not heroics.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Bond:
It's really cool seeing all the different teams and how their quirks work together.
In fact….this reminds me of a puzzle.
After combing through the chapter (and the couple chapters before), I've deduced that the 13 teams are arranged as follows:! http://i62.tinypic.com/34oox2r.jpg
Team Midoriya, Team Todoroki, Team Bakugou, Team Mineta, and Team Hagakure are obviously confirmed.
Sneaky Class B Boy has taken the headbands of Team Hagakure and Team Bakugou. His teammates can be seen in a few panels (mostly from the back).
The point total is equal to that of Team Monoma shown on the scoreboard, so that's probably his name.
The only Class A students left unaccounted for are Monkey Tail and Navel Laser. However, you can briefly see him in a small corner of a panel. He seems to have teamed up with Slave Master and Chubby Boy.
In that same panel, you can see them facing off against Chinese Braid riding Beast with Glasses, so they're another confirmed two-person team.
Team Tetsutetsu's members are pretty clear to see in the panels they appear in. They've got the second highest point value (after Midoriya, of course).
Side Ponytail can be seen with her headband still on in the last page. It's safe to assume she's Kendou. Her teammates are slightly discernible simply from their hair.
Human Regirock can be seen carrying Straight-haired Mikasa, so they're also a team. We can only see them from the front, so I wasn't sure if they had another member at the back (though after thinking it through, there wouldn't be enough members for 13 teams if they did).
On the scoreboard, one of the teams (Team Uroko) has 70p in total. Of the remaining students, this point value can only be obtained by teaming up Chicken Mantis with Horned Bunny.
The final team would then have to be Monkey Tail, teamed up with Talking Clothes. Talking Clothes would be the rider, since Monkey Tail's name isn't shown on the scoreboard.
Oddly enough, the scoreboard only shows 12 teams. If we compare the total points on the board with the true total points, 135P is missing. The point value of Slave Master's team. Since the scoreboard shows the teams in order of total accumulated points, and Slave Master is seen without his headband in the last page, something must have happened…So, in the end Empty suit was with regirock, and Monkey tail was with slave master (Who still isn't from class b, and seemed to be the ridder for his team, but the right way would be that the stubby one was the ridder). I'll compare this with my recent calculations.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! After looking for a while to the spoilers and raws, I managed to notice what happened with slave forehead guy:
! He's Shinsou or part of team Shinsou, was second to last in all the full board screens (I compared the kanjis double crosed J and three squares over the particle for tree)
! The weird part is that he had the bands that we know that team Tetsutetsu had, the 705 and mineta's 420.
! And whomever team Kendou was, they lost their 675, I mean 520 points just before the end. If they were the girls that Bond en Advant predicted, then they gathered many bands outscreen, even after Todoroki got theirs last chapter, or Slave master got theirs, but didn't add to overcome Bakugou's 1360.
! Todoroki also lost poinst between chapters, he should have at least 4 headbands at the start, Deku's M325, his own 615, the 70 one and one of the ponytail team, at least M1010, but the chapter starts with him on M850, and drops to M780 after Deku's attack, and then when Birdguy gets Todoroki's band, then Todoroki's final point count M165 that can't be archived with any combination.
! So the thing is just a mess, so I only care for: what happened to team Kendou to lose so badly when they had a good advantage. Or was just that they came in fifth, that the girls had 2 or more bands from the other teams besides the one that got taken by Todoroki?
! Last try and I go to bed, tracking the 12 headbands:
! Todoroki: Deku's (and at least one more)
Bakugou: definitely and proven by point count: Invisible Girl, His own and Copy guy.
SlaveGuy: At least TetsuTetsu team and Balls team
Deku: the 70P and Todoroki
! So, there were 3 unacounted bands, and Ponytail girl still had a band after Todoroki took one of hers, so it's only two. -
Here are the original points for reference:
Midoriya: 10.000.325
Todoroki: 615
Bakugou: 665
Hagakure: 390
Monoma: 305
Tetsutetsu: 705
Kendou: 225
"Shinsou": 295
Uroko: 125
Regirock: 165
By process of elimination, horned girl and fanged boy: 70 (Uroko could have stolen this bandana after losing his original one and before Todoroki took it). -
Nice chapter! Very hot blooded.
Kouhei is really growing on me as a mangaka with this series.
It's sooo much better than Barrage, the dude has come a long way. And successful.
The third volume should already break the million copy mark too, which is astounding. -
Has it broken any sort of record regarding new Jump series?
-
Nah, becuase we had Assassination Classroom.
That thing hit 1.6 million with 2nd volume, and 3.6 million with the 3rd. Kinda overshadowed everything in the recent years. -
Figures lol. AssClass had Nagisa's killer smile from the first chapter. Never stood a chance

Chapter 30
! Almond Eyes has an air barrier quirk.
He can create a barrier of solidified air, which can be used as either a wall or a platform. But the size of the barrier depends on the amount of air he exhales, so it's limited by his lung capacity.
! Ashido is definitely an acid girl. She uses it to cover the ground in front of her team and make it slippery, while Sero uses his tape to pull the entire team forward.
! Eraserhead comments that while Monoma's plan is reasonable, he forgot to take into account the difference in power between them, which results in his loss.
! With 20 seconds left on the clock, Deku uses air pressure to knock away Todoroki's arm. He's been training in the past two weeks so that he'd remember the feeling he had when using All for One against Noumu. His arm now hurts less.
Deku (logically) assumes that the headband on top of the others should be the 10 million points (Todoroki flipped them over beforehand so that the points are not visible).
He snatches it! But it's wrong!
He tries to go for another one but time is up!
! As expected, Team Todoroki is first, second is Team Bakugou.
Third is Team…Shinsou!?
! Tokoyami tells Deku that thanks to Deku's sudden attack, Todoroki's attention was focused entirely on the headbands around his neck. His forehead was left unguarded, and Dark Shadow took the opportunity to snatch his headband.
This was an opportunity that would not have come if not for Deku.
And so, they made it in fourth place!
! Todoroki is frustrated. He had resolved to not use his left arm, but Deku pressured him into using it anyway. He doesn't want to go with his father's wishes...
! The events will continue in the afternoon after a 1 hour break. Present MIC invites Eraserhead for lunch but he proceeds to take a nap.
! Team Tetsutetsu is absolutely distraught.
Interestingly enough, Thorn Hair thinks this is divine punishment for their dirty, underhanded method of taking Mineta's headband. She appears the religious type.
! The rest of the students leave for lunch, but Deku is nowhere to be found?
Meanwhile...
Todoroki wishes to speak with Deku.
At the same time...
All Might finds Endeavor and wishes to chat with him (over a cup of tea).
What could be on their minds??
! I'll check out the teams and points distribution later. I need to update that data. -
In chapter 29, little-guy-in-suit's (team Kodai) speech bubble is so small, you could barely fit anything in it! In the 'Gloopp' panel there's a super tiny speech bubble with 「今だ!」(Now!) in it.
Also I think it was implied in the same chapter that the top 4 teams only get to advance. ("With that many points, you'll be in the top four for sure!"). As a general rule of thumb, stolen headbands are worn around the neck. That panel of team Uroka(chinese braid) could be the exception.
(Chapter 30 spoilers)
Regarding the headband points (Somebody needs to review their algebra classes at Horikoshi's work office), I THINK I FOUND THE PROBLEM WHY THEY DON'T ADD UP:! KEY NOTES:
! * Total points w/o Team Midoriya's = 3980 <–-Let X = 3980- Subtotal = (10million + 325) + 3980 = 10,004,305
! CHAPTER 28: FIRST PANEL OF CURRENT POINTS AQUIRED:
! THEORY_: Uroka's original points was destroyed._
! * Team Monoma = 305(Monoma) + 390(Hagakure) + 665(Bakugou) = 1360- Team Tetsutetsu = 705(Tetsutetsu) + 420(Mineta) = 1125
- Team Kendou = 675
- Team Todoroki = 615(Todoroki)
- Team Uroka = 70(Tsunotori) [ASSUMING THAT TEAM UROKA STOLE TSUNOTORI'S ORIGINAL POINTS AND HAD THE TIME TO PUT IT ON HIS HEAD]
- TOTAL = 3845. DOES NOT EQUAL ORIGINAL TOTAL X = 3980
- 3980 - 3845 = 135 Missing points. 135 is close to 125 (Uroka).
! * Suppose that Uroka's original headband was destroyed. Then, 3980 - 125(Uroka) = 3855 = Y. <–-new total w/o Midoriya's points.
- 3855 - 1360 - 1125 - 615 - 70 = 685 [not [SIZE=2]675.]
! * Let's assume that Team Kendou's points is 520(after Todoroki stole one headband), assuming that the last scoreboard panel is True.
- ASSUME THEORY B IS TRUE (down below)
- Then, 520 = 225 (Kendou) + 295 (Shinsou).
- THUS, 685 - 520 = 165(Kodai)
- And so, TEAM KENDOU'S POINTS IN THE FIRST SCOREBOARD SHOULD BE 685, NOT 675.
- Thus, there was a miscalculation.
- THEREFORE, Team Uroka's original headband (125) was destroyed and was miscalculated from total points and Team Kendou's points.
! THEORY B: MIDORIYA'S 10 MILLION+325 TEAM POINTS WAS ROUNDED DOWN TO 10 MILLION
! * Assume Midoriya's Team points is 10 million (Chapter 30's first scoreboard panel).- Then, 615(Todoroki) + 165(Kodai) + 70(Tsunotori) = 850. At the beginning of the chapter, Team Todoroki was at 10,000,850.
- After Midoriya stole the first headband (70), Team Todoroki's points would be780 + 10 million
- 615(Todoroki) + 165(Kodai) + 10 million = 10,000,780
- 780 + 1360 + 1125 + 520 + 70 = 3855 = Y
- THEREFORE, Team Midoriya's original headband points was rounded down to 10 million.
! FINAL RESULTS:
! * Team Todoroki: 10million + 165(Kodai) = 10,000,165 (assuming Theory B is true. Otherwise the total would be 10,000,490. Regardless, Team Todoroki is first place)- Team Bakugou: 665(his own) + 390(Hagakure) + 305(Monoma) = 1360
- Team Shinsou: 705(Tetsutetsu) + 420(Mineta) = 1125 <–-He stole all of Tetsutetsu's two headbands by using his quirk
- Team Midoriya: 615(Todoroki) + 70(Tsunotori) = 685
- Team Kendou: 225(Kendou) + 295(Shinsou) = 520
- Missing points: 125
! CONCLUSION:
! * In Chapter 28, Uroko's original headband of 125 points was destroyed and was subtracted from the subtotal distribution of 10,004,305.- Following this, a miscalculation was made. Team Kendou's points should be 685, not 675.
- In Chapter 30, Team Midoriya's points was counted as 10 million into Team Todoroki's total points.

! so, the color spread from last week was a hint on who is going to join class a, slave guy and invention girl?
! Yeah, that's what I was getting at last week. I assumed this round wasn't a knock-out round, so I figured a B team would win and Todoroki or Bakugou would lose somehow but continue on, so I'm really surprised no B teams made it through. Not sure I like that development; it would have made more sense to put some/one of the more memorable B class students into the group with Slave Master, allowing them to continue on to other rounds.
! Still…! no one from B class makes it. That's disappointing. He should have made 5 teams pass instead of just 4.

I never could figure out who he was sitting on, or how many, but I thought it was one A class and two B class? I'm pretty sure someone made notes of who was where at some point, but not sure how much was assumption and how much was confirmed. I'd be curious to see what B class student(s) were on his team and how they did in the first event and/or the entrance exam. Not sure who 'Chubby Kid' is.

Must be pretty unpopular to get stuck working with a General Ed kid and two A class students, one of whom is Navel Laser who we know is not very popular. Poor Ojiro.
! Edit: I just stepped out for a sec to check, haha, looks like the kid placed 33rd in the race. -

So in the end
! no one from B class makes it. That's disappointing.
He should have made 5 teams pass instead of just 4.I agree.
! That no one from B class made it into the Top4 felt sort of disappointing, especially after two of them made it into the Top 5. I kinda liked to see that the B guys due their planing ahead would have gotten one of their teams into the Top4 but now the sole B guy who made it was the one who got used by a regular student's quirk. B class suffered an utterly defeat, now they cannot say anymore that A class and B class are both "hero classes". A class will, till B class manage to achieve a simialr victory, stay as "the one true hero class". For all we know, AM might only teach Class A for example, imagine how that must feel to the B-class students.
! And I find it a shame that so many B students won't get to see some screentime again like the thornhair girl or the guy with the crazy eyes who had the same skinharden quirk like Kacchan's front horseman or the wolf glasses guy or the weird speech bubble guy, copy quirk class rep, etc.. I dunno compared to those students, chubby B guy isn't all the hype.
! Also looks like I was right all along, not a single student from Class A will have to change classes after this tournament instead we get two new students with gadget girl and slaver mind guy and that's it. So much for the "uuuuuhhhoooowwaaah, you might lose some friends who did too badly in this tournament as they will have to change to regular classes, be veeeeerrryyy afraid of the potential draaaaama". <_< -

The drama was mostly for Midoriya himself as it was another situation where he could potentially lose his spot in Yuuei's Hero class. I don't think losing friends was ever a concern.
! Class A having actual ambition and experience was the differential. It was only natural for Class B to get utterly defeated even if some of them could keep up.
! And I certainly don't see Class B students getting more screentime when we still have a bunch of Class A students who barely got screentime yet. -
And that, kids, is a rough way of how to prove theorems in Math.
That sounds solid, I'll run it through excell in a while. I was also cheating with the ten million , but focusing in the low part, calling the million either M or valuing it as a one, so whomever didn't end in 5 or 0 had the big one.
All the 0's in 10 million didn't really matter too much when calculating the point distribution, since all the other scores were 3 or 2 digits. I can see why one would forget the 325 since it would be such a hassle calculating it with the rest. 10 million is a nice number and the extra 325 would be an unnecessary nuisance. Team Kendou's points was the real problem since there was no clear visual evidence how many headbands she had in the previous chapters.
! I'm not so gung ho about Hatsume potentially joining the Heroics Department, it doesn't seem logical. First of all, creating support items and gadgets is her main interest and specialty, and Support classes should be mandatory in order for her to learn and improve her inventions. Support-concentrated classes are probably not taught to the students in Heroics and vice versa.

Too many characters! I can't remember all their (apparently well crafted) names. At least now we'll be focusing on "just" these 4 teams.

So, the all girl team was captured in the ice, and couldn't move for the rest of the match, I guess that they have a very strong defensive ability, but Todoroki managed to catch them by surprise, so they were inmobilized, but no one else could get the other two bands.

I like how the Slave master's team have no clue of what the heck is going on which tell us that once he uses his quirk on you, your brain does not record what you do during that period of time and Classy guy is taking it hard.

Too many characters! I can't remember all their (apparently well crafted) names. At least now we'll be focusing on "just" these 4 teams.
Me 2. BokuHero has 30 chapters and has already more named characters than WT after nearly 100 chapters. And people usually complained with WT's huge cast. If this continues with new introduced named charas than BokuHero will have like a thousand named people after chapter 100. XDDD

I'd like to bet on Shinsou from the regular classes/general education department. I find it impressive how he made it all the way to the top4 despite being a "GE kid" among "hero kids". He, the gadget girl from the techy department and the chubby B class guy are the sole "Not A class" people in the top4 so I hope at least one of them makes it into the last round. If only A people would represent the freshmen it would be pretty boring in my opinion.^^
What I noticed after rereading the manga; remember how I had talked about "quirk rasicm" some pages ago back then when that electric villian wouldn't want to kill Kaminari, the electric guy who becomes dumb if he uses his quirk too much?
I feel like there is a very deep "elitist quirk" thinking in both education and society of BokuHero's world. We hear that with how the teachers announces Class A and how frentic the people applaud whereas other classes don't even get a small applause. We see that with Shinsou, who as a regular GE kid, just tells the A guys he will pull the rug under their high horses. We see that with how heroes aka their quirks to fight villians and their quirks are treated like idols and superstars in the society and are more "businessmen/women" than "idealistic" people.
Heck, even AM had lost his idealistic side after a couple years as he had admitted to Deku before he had meet his future successor.Kind of similar in other cartoons, mangas, animes, etc. Like TLA where the elemental benders had a much higher standing in soceity than non-benders and other examples. Pretty sure Deku's life as a quirkless wouldn't have been all that great. I bet guys with cool quirks gets tons of girls, same with people with useful quirks gets tons of job offers. A quirkless will have a hard standing in such a quirk-driven and quirk-crazy society.

Doubt there will be an overall winner considering those are still just preliminaries. The point is to have a select group of people to represent the first-graders.
The real event is the one which will involve first, second and third-graders against each other.

! C'mon Todoroki, Deku's gotta be Endeavour's illegimate child. It would explain his wild and wavy hair for starters!

! So looks like quirk eugenics is a thing.! Poor Todoroki, I had a feeling that might be the case. But a fire/ice combo is also a pretty risky combination as it could've turned into a quirk that cancels itself out:

! Just another piece on my theory that humans are still rascist even if they got quirks/superpowers. They just use them to put each other into new "categories". Bet we will see later political organisations that try to get better society standings for "bodyeffect quirks" as well as evil organisations who try to have some certain category of quirk be the "leader caste" and stuff like that.

Looks like we are getting hard copies.

Looking forward to adding them to my manga shelf next to French Oumagadoki Zoo :D

Any quirk combinations people would like to see? If Mineta grew up and hit it off with a fire quirk girl we could see a quirk in the form of "Grape Balls of Fire"!

! Todorokis Mom might be the same ice girl we saw in chapter one? http://bato.to/read/_/302170/boku-no-hero-academia_ch1–v2-_by_fallen-angels/5
! I really wanna know what Tooru is saying - she seems pretty energetic! -
Yay to getting a print-run! It's been a while since I've looked forward to getting a new series on my shelf!
! And for whatever's going on in ch.31, the invisible girl flailing about (I suppose in anger) in a cheerleader getup is absolutely precious!

! I think she might be the only one of the girls getting into the cheerleading - her speech bubble looks more round and bubbly :D She's gotta be some kind of extrovert or exhibitionist!
! Mineta's death at the hands of the angry girls may just open up a place in Class A after all… -
! Todoroki is pretty much Zuko with his shitty parents but not having a good uncle figure. Lol
Endeavor wants to be no.1 but he can't beat All Mighty so he came up with a plan.
He wants to create a child that has a good combination of quirk. This child will surpass All Mighty in his capability. Use the child to live out his dream.
Todoroki basically his tool and Todoroki refuse to become one. He want to prove that he can be the strongest even without using his dad's quirk. Endeavor seem to believe Todoroki will follow his wish eventually after his "rebellious phase".
In Todoroki's memory, his mother was always crying. He remembered his mother saying his left side of his face is ugly. She also splashed hot water on him. It's pretty obvious she doesn't like her son very much for self explanatory reason.
It was mentioned money was involved in this arrangement… -
! OH, 1v1 tournament time
