i think the eticette says that you have to use spoiler tags the first 24 ours. so everybody has a chance to see it in their own timezone.
The Walking Dead (AMC series)

Well it's their problem, we don't use spoilers when discussing in OP current chapter thread, so why use it here? Most of the stuff that are being discuss here are from the latest episodes, Why are they even lurking here if they haven't seem em' yet.
Sometimes we use them for the benefit of others, sometimes we don't….it's not really
anything worth getting bent out of shape about though. -
Teaser image for the season finale:
!
So, who is going to die on Sunday? Place your bets. I'd pick Abraham or Morgan.

Audio of last 11 minutes of the finale.

Oh man.. I can't wait for Lucille!
-
! so who died? the only one i am sure of who didnt die is carl.

! I say Daryl, Glenn, or Eugene.
-

! Of those three I really really hope it's Glenn. I like Daryl and Eugene is one of my fave characters
-
! Of those three I really really hope it's Glenn. I like Daryl and Eugene is one of my fave characters
! I don't think Glenn mainly because in this part in the comics it was Glenn who met Lucille. The show likes to mix things up from the comics so he's the least likely of the 3. That said out of everyone he is a very likely pick.
-
! Don't think it's Glenn either or we would have heard Maggie scream her lungs out. Of course they could have just cut it out to keep us guessing. It also isn't Eugene, we were shown the place where he plans to make more ammunition for them and he probably is the only one with that knowledge. I'm still going with Abraham. He's not as important/popular as Daryl whose on-screen death would have had more shock value than this fake-out. I don't consider neither Rosita nor Aaron to be relevant enough for this important scene. Michonne, Rick and Carl are obviously out. Maggie would be a great way to shock the audience as well which they chose not to do. Sasha is the only other person I could see dying here and now.
! Also, am I the only one really disappointed in how JDM portrays Negan? The comic version seems much more intimidating and it's not due to the lack of swear words. -
! I would like to point out that Abraham was the only one who looked Negan resolutely in the eye. The POV lifts his/her head after each hit by Lucille, which would fit Abraham's defiance. The woman crying out would be Sasha.
! But then again (Comic spoiler)
! Abraham's character was left alive in the show because Kirkman thought he killed him off too soon. Would they spare him only to kill him now? -

! On the walking dead reddit someone posted slowed down audio of the scene and it sounds like Maggie is crying out for Glenn.

! I thought he did well, but perhaps he would have seemed more threatening if they hadn't left us hanging like that and actually showed the attack
-
In regards to the finale scene. Someone has plenty of free time lol.
! Who Died on the The Walking Dead? https://imgur.com/gallery/Ga15Pt4
-
! Since a heck of a lot of Negan's lines were taken word-for-word from the comic (including the mid-beating 'taking it like a champ!'),
some people think that means it's Glenn, just like the comic.
! Though it would also make sense for them to WANT us to assume that, and then they give us something different. -
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
! iIf this isn't a fever/shock dream by Rick RIP Abraham and Glenn
! Also Darryl is a dumb shit. Negan did say they would only get one free outburst -
Honestly, after watching the premiere, I feel empty. I went from shock and horror to feeling empty. I wasn't expecting them to show the full blown gore and brutality of that scene.

! what got me wasn't the deaths, but when Carl resigned himself to getting his arm cut off and having to tell his dad that he was okay with it. Dude has gone through some shit but was willing to lose a arm just so his family wasn't being hurt anymore
! Since they stuck to the comics and offed Glenn on the show this should be Maggie's and Carl's time to shine. -
You ballsy motherfuckers.
! "I'll find you Maggie"
T_T
-
Oh, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance was superb.
-
How long is Jeffrey Dean Morgan projected to stay on TWD? The guy's a solid actor, I'd love to see him stick around for more than just a season.
Haven't seen the new episode yet, unfortunately.

Quite awhile it seems like.
-
Great start of the season.
Gave me goosebumps
-
! That additional death was definitely necessary for this to be worth the wait.
But I still cried, mostly because all Glenn did in his final moments was try to comfort Maggie.
Even Negan seemed touched/impressed, and he apologised for splitting them apart.
! Thanks a lot Daryl. Thanks a whole fucking bunch. -
! NNOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo. Whhhhhy? Why didn't I forsee more than one death?! I was right about Abraham but I thought Glenn would be okay. Uuugh. Daryl! You feral man dog! What have you done?!
! Oh god poor Maggie. This was as bad as Carol finding her daughter. -
[hide]I hate to say it, but I still feel a bit of 'numbness' when it comes to most of these characters. It's not that I don't like them, but it's that I've been prepared for most of them to die. So Abraham and Glenn didn't bother me that bad. Sucks, and I feel really, really bad for Maggie.
I admit, I didn't enjoy watching Michonne or Aaron get clubbed in that 'everyone gets clubbed' bit. I think those two (and Carol) are easily my favorite characters. So I guess I'm not 'completely numb'. I am, however, prepared for Carol to drop dead at any moment, and she's ready for it too.
I never read the comics, but… We've had one episode with Negan, and I can already tell he is the most entertaining villain of TWD yet. People are already comparing him to Joffrey and Ramsay, but honestly, I never 'enjoyed' having those two around like I do Negan. Negan's a bastard, but a fun one. The villains you want to stick around and be horrible are more fun than the ones you end up adamantly hating.[/hide]

I wanna to get off Mr. Negan's Wild Ride…
! Upping the ante with another death is a pretty good pay-off for the terrible "no show" finale of the last season. Abraham's exit was done well, and I really liked the peace sign he gave to Sasha. Apparently the actor thought of that, so kudos to Mr. Cudlitz!
I've never stayed up to date with TWD, and always just watched the seasons when they appeared on Netflix, but I think I'll be keeping up just to see JDM portrayal of Negan. No one's having more fun than Jeffrey.
! Oh god poor Maggie. This was as bad as Carol finding her daughter.
Even worse considering
! Maggie was the one who initially made the deal with the people of The Hilltop, which led to the mess with The Saviors and eventually really ticking off Negan. You can cast the blame accurately on Daryl for throwing the punch, but I feel Maggie feels a great deal of guilt regardless.

I pretty much have to stay current with the series if I don't want to get spoilered. 1 day wait is harrowing enough I couldn't imagine a waiting months.
! I had forgotten that actually was due to Maggie lol. Yeah her guilt is probably pretty high. And I saw a post on Facebook that made me realize all of her family we got to meet was killed by living people not zombies. If that doesn't drive her to Carol levels of badass nothing will.
-
I'm just so relieved that we FINALLY now have a villain that may be as interesting/entertaining…if not, more so than the Governor.
-
Villain? Please, dude is a saint compared to the Ricktator. I mean, after Ricks crew took out like what, 20 men of his, he only barely took any revenge on them. He wanted Carls weaker arm, instead of his strong one and he would have brought him to a good doctor immediately. Dude is pretty nice, just has to do what he has to to provide for his people. :ninja:
#NeganTheTrueHeroOfTWD
Can't wait to see how they will fk up the new season now though, cause let's be honest, walking dead is mostly b-movie schlock with some sprinkles of greatness thrown in from time to time.

Eh, I'm the other way around on that matter. It's a pretty decent show with some awful bits sprinkled in, such as episodes that don't go very far with plot, and I feel most seasons should've been much shorter than the 16 episodes they usually are.
To me, the real saving grace is that they do a solid job with most of the characters. The Morgan backstory episode with the cheesemaker was probably my favorite of the last season. Carol's arc in the last half of the season was great, and I'm probably equally excited to see where they go with her as much as I look forward to Negan.
-
I personally am getting tired of the meandering the show does just to fill up those 16 episodes each season. Tightening the script and shorten the episode count would be a nice change, but will never happen.
-
^ What you do expect it's AMC not HBO.
-
I wish it was on hbo and had better ppl doing the script and directing. xD

At least we would get Negan using his favorite four letter word.
-
We'd also likely get 5 seasons with the 5th being a shortened run :ninja:
-
It meanders because this is a show without a set endgame that it's progressing towards not due to it not being on HBO. They aren't actively trying to cure the zombie plague, hell we don't even have a real explanation of what caused the outbreak. Really the show is just a day to day survival.

Which show are you referring to?

I don't mind that we don't have an explanation behind the outbreak, it isn't even all that important for the story. I've always been interested in how the characters have dealt with the new problems and societies that come from the apocalyptic event. It's totally doable to do a tv show like this without a set endgame.
However… The show does follow a formula of having to do a "reset" every now and then, where they're back to square one in terms of power and hope, and when they keep doing that without bringing in some new aspects to it, it starts to wear thin pretty quick, which to me is part of the reason it may be "meandering". -
^ Boardwalk Empire.

Breh? :ninja::ninja:
-
So I'm guessing that most of the "shit"s he's been using were originally "fuck"s?
I like the way he pronounces "shit" though, so I'm cool with it. -
Here's Negan in all his glory.
-
Comic spoiler regarding newest episode:
! So are we to assume that Carol takes Comic!Michonne's place in Ezekiel's love interest and eventual leader of the Kingdom (I'm guessing that's where the comic is headed towards)? I'm not sure what else they could have planned with her, living all by herself.
Also, can someone explain to me why the word "fuck" was being omitted in the televised version? I don't get the logic behind that, people being torn apart alive, getting their heads smashed in so hard their eyes pop out of their sockets, all fine, but a four letter word is not allowed?

In the long and short AMC doesn't work like other cable channels like HBO & Cinemax
-
Season 7 epidode 2
! Omg. Ezekiel is amazing lol. It's pretty nice to have a more optimistic episode after that majorly brutal and depressing season premier lol.
-
Here's Negan in all his glory.
I don't mind that his swears were originally edited, but I do like Morgan's delivery while swearing. But I have to wonder, do they shoot every scene with his lines edited, and once they're done with those, they reshoot it with him swearing?
I imagine they don't air the swears because of tvregulations or whatever, but from a production standpoint it seems cumbersome to dedicate a lot of time and resources to work to get two successful versions of Negan's scenes for every episode he'd be in. -
There's no rules saying they can't say fuck (or anything else) in the show. It's just the people at the station not wanting it in the show for one reason or another. Cable isn't regulated by the FCC, whatever censorship there is is self-censoring.
-
I'm happy with the TV version of Negan.
100% agree it would be better if AMC would actually allow him to say "F**K", especially because he uses in like 90% of his comic dialogue.
Just please, AMC don't screw up the guts scene….
-
Can we all just appreciate that Ezekiel is Cyborg/Aqualad…and honestly he nailed it.

Agreed, man. If they can have that degree of gore I wonder why they can't just add swearing? It would add the same depth to the characters that they have in the comic books.

He is? I love him even more now.
