3 had the weakest story in the series and a main villain whose potential was squandered.

I'm GLAD it's at 30 fps. dont wanna ruin that cinematic experience do i
besides our eyes cant see that many frames anyway it's 20/20 vision not 60/60

Err…. cinematic frame rate is 24 fps, and with 48 fps being tested with stuff like the Hobbit, the cinematic experience could probably be presented at a higher frame rate (which may even be preferable if the game's frame rate isn't held constant)
And 20/20 has nothing to do with how many frames per second your eyes can see.

It was 3rd game in series that was at peak at Uncharted 2 imo.
Uncharted 4 seems to feel a bit like U1 with gameplay additions from The Last of Us(that came after Uncharted 3 and was fantastic).

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic lol
Trailer was disappointing I gotta say. It looked exactly like Uncharted 2/3. You'd think they'd emphasize new gameplay elements but all they showed was hiding in grass and climbing with a knife. The same press x to win platforming and shitty gunplay looks like it will return.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Uncharted 3 wasn't that bad. Yeah the story sucked but I'm not playing the games for that anyway. The second half of the game was just amazing set piece after set piece that were better than anything Uncharted 2 had.
The only problem was that it threw bullet sponge enemies at you way too often. I had to turn it down to normal because there was this armored dude who just wouldn't go down, even after a dozen shotgun shells to the face.
My only issue with U3 : half of the game is more entertaining than the last chapter.
And your point with pictures is?
I seen here some "I complain for a hobby without second thoughts-like" complaining on downgrade of graphics here..
When first video was at night and shown Drake getting up from water- they picked most flashy graphically scene to show off what new Uncharted will look like in cutscene, what engine can render in real time.. This is gameplay and as you compare face features on Drake and fact that its different time of day then you come to understand that there is no downgrade. If we would see gameplay and cutscenes at night then we can compare.
I dislike that internet is so full of people looking on graphics, complaining mostly on them and then not even playing - often not even having system that criticized by them game runs on. Its not complaining, its not constructive critique(if there is something like that when it comes to video games) its simply put "bitching".
Naughty Dog is one of best developers and they will give fantastic game around year from now and some people just waste time on hating, overusing word like "downgrade" etc. Year from now on you will have game with even better graphics at moments than in that one cutscene from some time ago. Beside that quality we already seen today is incredible, its Uncharted game and not second comming of Jesus. You all should get realistic expectations for games. Console systems are limited(pretty strong but limited in ways) so authors have to go around some limitations in time - I am writing about gameplay framerate - it will be from 30 - 60fps per second. With such level of detail and bigger action pieces I would not expect locked 60fps per second in every scene. In some - of course yes - in many others, not really.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-07-21-uncharted-4-is-pushing-for-1080p60-on-playstation-4
And we just seen PRE ALPHA - not final product.
I didnt wanted to write anything but some of you here really dont give second thought to your expectations.
My point from the picture ?
The person above asked for a comparison and I brought it.
Did u read anything from my post about downgrading ?
where are your eyes? I put underline for the pre alpha indicating that there is a lot of time and work to improve.
For me the pictures looks pretty much the same especially if you see it in 1080p. But there is something not right in drake's hair.

Curse my inability to detect sarcasm!
Yeah I was being sarcastic. I tried really hard to make it seem so. The 30fps v 60fps has been raging yet again after the Uncharted gameplay. I'm tired of it, and I'm tired of anyone who's accepting of 30fps and even prefers it.

I just asked because even in context of previous posts it was bit bald and not clear for me.
They say that your Hue gets cloudy above 30 fps.

Like the hand to hand combat in the third game which was easily the weakest gameplay element in that game and which the game starts and ends with.

Would that include the section where Drake sneaks aboard then has to fight his way off a sinking cruise ship which was easily the worst section of the game because of how it was essentially a repeat of the Train section from the 2nd game only far more pointless. And Nate and Sully having to escape from Ubar as it sinks which was also copied off the final sequence from the 2nd game.
Amy Henning flat out said in the unlockable behind the scenes videos on UC3 that they built the set pieces and then wrote a story around it, and you can fucking tell, like so hard. She even acknowledged that it might've not been the best thing to do in the video.
Guess what, it fucking wasn't.

The stories in all the games have always been pulpy and predictable at best. I don't think this is such a bad thing to do. The set pieces are what make the games, prioritize that and I'm fine with it.

Are you kidding? The sinking cruise ship section was great. Fighting people off while the ship swayed back and forth, I don't know how that's comparable to the train level.
And Ubar looked really fantastic, though I'll agree, it wasn't the best sequence.
Oh, the hand-to-hand combat sequences were such a pain, like at the start. No fun. It's fine if you're up against someone, and you want to take out a dude by hitting him, like when you're out of bullets. But specific sections for fighting … ugh.
This game does have both of the guys who worked on Last of Us, one of whom worked on Uncharted 2. The game has had a long development time, though, so I do wonder how much of the game they altered after Henning and Richmond's departure, as well as the dude voicing he villain. Wonder what happened altogether.
While dark jungles aren't my favorite areas, the gameplay video showed a lot of advancements in movement, gunplay and so on. Can't wait to see other areas.
The only part in Uncharted 3 that actually surprised/shocked me was
! Sully's "death"
but then that turned out to be a bogus hallucination.

All of which is invalidated by wonky writing. Nate goes there with the intention of saving Sully eventhough we know Ramses and his men didn't have Sully.

Yeah that was really dumb and unnecessary. Totally anticlimactic too

Literally who cares lol. It was fun
Well I mean I can see why people feel the need to point this stuff out when Uncharted is constantly praised for its writing and being "cinematic" and Naughty Dog is held on some kind of pedestal because of this and their other games.
Downgrade my ass. Level of detail is incredible.
Downgrade my ass. Level of detail is incredible.
Abso-fucking-lutely! I've watched the gameplay video and trailer a bunch, and I just don't see this supposed 'downgrade' everyone's talking about. Drake's in-game model looks incredible! As a matter of fact, everything in-game looks incredible.
Beautiful animation and physics.
We've reached the abyss of the Uncanny Valley.
Now if only someone could make a game with those graphics that wasn't entirely linear, reliant on setpieces, and had a large amount of environmental interaction.

Maybe in the tenth video game gen.

A shooter by any other name.
Next Gameinformer cover is UC4. First time in a while that I'm interested in one of those. Last one was like the cover for Skyrim.
Oh kay some info on the game from January's GI Issue
Another thing that I read was that they are locking the framerate between 30 and 60 frames. (Definitely above 30, but below 60)
I'm fine with that, as long as it is locked.
Curious about the tweaks that they are doing. Also, multiple paths sounds awesome.
You're saying it'll be locked at like 40 fps or something like that? I'm pretty sure locking your framerate to something other than 15, 30, or 60 fps causes problems. Something to do with it not being divisible by 60. I could be wrong though.
Three years only? Drake looks a lot older
Here is the bit on the fps:

Well that's what harrowing life or death adventures, marriage, & a realistic character model will do to you.

Oh so I wasn't misreading that when I saw it on an article.
I'm actually kind of happy to hear it was pushed to next Spring. That will give me more time to really pour over Arkham Knight and The Phantom Pain! xD
Just finished crushing runs on all three games from the Nathan Drake Collection. Let me just say, I hope they abandoned every single aspect of U3 before starting U4. In every way possible, it was a massive step backwards.

Welcome aboard the bandwagon.
Welcome aboard the bandwagon.
Oh, I helped build that bandwagon. It's just the first time I've finished U2 and started straight into U3, and good scott…
My favorite part is how they removed the enemy reaction when they're shot so that some will just run straight through a hail of bullets to blast you with a shotgun at point blank. Really, if you didn't have the graphics changes and other little details, I would think U3 would be the first game rather than the third just because it seems like the other two fixed all the problems that IT had.
Just purchased the Nathan Drake collection.

Congratulations. Did you get the PS4 bundle or did you already have a PS4?

Already own a PS4.
I love the banter between Drake and Sullly/Elena/Chloe. Close to finishing the 3rd Uncharted.
Did you get to participate in the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta?
Holy fuck Nathan Drake slaughters people, I played all three games and I really liked them specially second one but whole mass murdering invincible super killer stuff was rather immersion breaking and dull even. I liked puzzles and locations but seeing Drake killing hundreds of enemies in each game with zero fucks given was really little strange… I kinda like how second game's boss mentioned it to Drake during their face off.
Given the danger involved in the business that Drake partakes in. Him killing dangerous people with no hesitance on his part is excusable.
My life is going to stop after this game comes out. By the time I come up for air "Berserk" will be finished.
Just a few more months until this comes out. Looking good so far.
What an amazing trailer.
