Bambina hype is fucking real. They are not taking PAIR without losing a limb or two… wait.
Toriko II: Ichiryuu's Slimy Insides!!
-
-
That bambina speed blitz though. Heracles was lolsnort and now bambina.
! somebody better call the gourmet police and report the rape that just occurred
-
! Kaka and the Denshark are gone, only the limbs of Toriko and Coco and head of Zebra remain on the ground. So for those who still are in doubt, this is not product of a Ultimate Routine nor is Sunny hallucinating.
-
I dont think half the main cast is really dead.
Call it a hunch XD
-
@Myu:
That paralle isn't happening for the first time to be honest.
I
still remember the meteor contest and the villain clone festival . Naruto won the meteor and Bleach the clone war. -
Its probably time for zebra's gourmet cells to show up. Sunny had his Satan hair. Coco has his white hair poison Torino has blue oni (lol) now zebra is gonna show something
! death noise is gonna let him rez himself with appetite or some shit like that
-
Epic, but expected
Wonder what's going to happen now? Despair flips to Happiness from chapter to chapter in this manga
-
Monkeys and apes hate being looked in the eyes. Bambina was half sleep, and the instant it woke up Sunny averted eye contact and got spared. It's likely Kaka who is very knowleadgeable of the 8 Kings also managed to escape safely with the Denshark.
So all in all, it's looking more and more likely Zebra is really dead.
-
Feels like Oda and Shima had a chat with George RR Martin. Crazy week.
-
Well, that's our story. Toriko's dead. Good night!
-
Looks like they'll need the two monkey balls to revive Zebra.
-
Nah… Zebra is going to put himself back together through the use of his Gourmet Cells/Gourmet Demon/Devil coming forth. It will be his 'special' ability: the ability to reassemble himself and give back life to his body (like someone kinda-sorta said already in here).
Him having a Grim Reaper-esque looking demon/devil, and noises named after the Grim Reaper help to emphasis this point, in my opinion.
-
if this happens rember I said it first
-
This will probably be Teppei in a fruit bowl 2.0, so i´m not concerned. It was still pretty awesome.
Well, that's our story. Toriko's dead. Good night!
Amazing reference
-
It's almost definitely killing intent or something like that - after Teppei, it's impossible to take a cliffhanger like this even remotely seriously.
-
Well, after Sunny opened his eyes, it seemed a bomb exploded in Zebra, Coco and Toriko's body!
-
So Dofla take his sweet time to cut an arm and Bambina cut 2 main character in literally the blank of an eye. Bloody Thanksgiving it is.
-
This is exacty what thanksgiving symbolizes
-
I think this is real, as we see only Zebra shredded. The others are probably fine. Dunno how they will deal with chopped-up Zebra though.
-
Why do people keep saying this is real? That would be so damned stupid for Shima to kill off a main character and then put him back together again through some contrived method. I'd rather settle for some dumb illusion/trick/clone/near death experience again rather than wipe out any tension regarding death this manga might have left.
-
I rather have Toriko, Coco, and Zebra be dead.
New series title change next week. Sunny. He and Komatsu form a new Combo together and finish the task of gathering Acacia's menu.
-
Silly guys. As if Zebra would get killed by a goofy monkey.
-

Sunny chasing a monkey so he can eat his balls? I would pay to see that.

Now that I think about it Bambina is quite close to the battle wolf(6000 to 6090).
-
It's Always Sunny In Gourmet World.
-

We've got Zebra's head, Toriko's arm and Coco's boot (I check in previous chapter). If this is real, not only Zebra but also Toriko and Coco are dead.
-
I have a feeling I'm not going to like the next chapter or two regardless of what happens. If it goes the way the chapter wants us to believe it's going to go, and Toriko, Coco, and Zebra are now dead, then resurrection or not, Sunny will have to live with the guilt…of having a completely normal reaction to a ridiculous situation, with said reaction only having occured because of Toriko's curiosity and fear reaction. Assuming it turns out to be a prank/routine/Teppermoment/whatever, it basically means that Sunny was singled out to get screwed over...because he had a completely normal reaction to a ridiculous situation, with said reaction only having occured because of Toriko's curiosity and fear reaction.
So either way, Sunny gets butt monkeyed by a butt monkey for having a different personality than "tsundere stoic badass, calculating stoic badass, and charismatic stoic badass", and also because of Toriko. Sorry that you're likely gonna be Yamcha'd, Sunny, but I'll always love you for those reasons.
(Of course, on the unlikely chance that it turns out Sunny had the Riddle Chapter upside down and the capture level is really only 0009, I'll laugh like an idiot despite the above.)
-
It would be fun if they were really dead and he announced a new manga he was making (not that I hate Toriko, but making "big and shocking" happen for the sake of being "big and shocking" gets old after awhile).
-
I'm gonna guess that this was some kind of illusion that also effects others in the same way.Toriko sees Zebra suny and coco parts etc.Something or someone will snap them out of it
-
This post is deleted!
-

1 from each body part?
maybe they can get revived by fusing the leftover parts for 1 intact body? toricobra, toribraco, cobrator. Hmm, fun with names
.Seriously though, kinda annoying that one entire chapter gets spent on an intimidation illusion (idc if it's a stronger variant like ulitmate roulette/teppei fruit bowl, the point is the same)
-
If this is real (not likely but still), I would love if they somehow manage to keep Zebra's head alive and stuck it on some creature body making him a monster like some bishokukai members.
They should stick it into a Zebra.
-
Toriko's questioning Bambina being in sleep, Sani blinking his eye, Guemon's presence… I'd like it to be real, yes, but they are all signs kinda says otherwise.
-
than wipe out any tension regarding death this manga might have left.
There's hardly any tension ever regarding the death of a main character in a shonen. No matter what kind of battles and injuries go on in the series. We all know they are not gonna die. Or if they die, they'll get better.
Personally, I prefer to have some awesome scenes/chapters and some ridiculous stuff happening Toriko-style regarding the main characters and their battles and defeats than having the author tiptoeing around that in order to preserve a sense of tension regarding the death of a main character that was never really there in the first place.

I agree.
Toriko´s not even the worst offender of this type. Except for Teppei´s head, Komatsu getting his heart ripped out, and now this, there weren´t really that many fake deaths.
At least Shima pulls these with some style. I would rather watch Toriko pulling this more often then having to witness another "OH NO, MAKAROV IS ABOUT TO DIE" moment.
-
Well komatsu actually died once.
-
I'd argue that only Teppei's casa was actually misleading because he was the only one who wasn't a main character, so him dying seemed perfectly possible.
-
well komatsu's first time was just him bursting his eardrums and it really was just sort of played over as insignificant and funny. Jiro just casually healed him after and Toriko was joking about it.
there were those fake deaths when toriko was practising/using ultimate roulette, but those were more obvious than even today's chapter
-
I'm inclined to believe this is real. The heavy tension, the drama, the narration panels the author only uses for important stuff…
The Teppei case isn't even comparable. For that only 2 pages were used before it was revealed to be just a nightmare. Here an entire chapter was devoted solely on this dramatic event.
What's more scary is that was the aftermath.
-
the teppei thing had a lot of excellent shock value because of the sudden cut and mood whiplash
here it's just the same thing for an entire chapter and you're like "what a waste of pages"
-
But if it turns out to be real it won't be a waste of pages.
-
But if it turns out to be real it won't be a waste of pages.
It would be a waste of a series. Sunny can't carry this thing alone.
-

I disagree. The others were just holding him back.
-
I'm just seeing Zebra's head on the ground. Toriko and Coco are only missing some limbs.
And speaking of Zebra, his demon is associated with a Grim Reaper, right? What if…
-

If they die, they'll get better. Lol, ok. Again, that would be stupid as hell.
-
Apparently people have already forgotten about CENTER.

Whether he pulls it off with style or not isn't my concern but rather the repetition of it makes it become jaded, and you forgot the death of the poison clones not too far back. As I said before I would rather have another "fake out" than the actual death of these characters because it's very likely the way Shima would 'bring them back to life' would be incredibly dumb.

If they have to heal Komatsu on this continent with a dish from Acacia's menu only to have to move on to another continent to revive someone else with a dish from Acacia's menu I will laugh pretty hard at that because, lol, Zebra got screwed out of a whole arc for getting his head chopped off.
-
I'm wondering if this is where AIR comes into play. It was said to be capable of healing deep wounds and such.

Then what do you suggest? We have already given enough reasons to discard this as either illusion or imagery.

Shima will figure it out for us.
It's the best part of reading a manga I think. We don't suggest anything outside of new creatures.
-
If they die, they'll get better. Lol, ok. Again, that would be stupid as hell.
Yes. As in they get revived somehow, like the already mentioned case with Komatsu. Technically, he was dead, but he got better. That's exactly the kind of stuff that happens with main characters in shonens. We all know it. And that's why there's never really tension from us believing that they will actually get killed.
The tension comes from how things are presented. Its more a case of the execution of the chapter/manga than us actually believing that they might die that creates tension.
In other manga, having ridiculous and over the top stuff happening in the execution of the chapter/manga would probably be bad, but Toriko's all about that, so, as long as its well executed in Toriko's style, there's no problem in that particular aspect. On the contrary.
-

What do I suggest? I suggest what I've been saying all along and hope it's a fake-out…
Because whatever explanation Shima gives to revive them will probably be lolworthy and yeah, yeah, yeah, that's how Toriko is but some moments are handled better than others. The regrowth of an arm, ok. The resurrection of a main character? Oh yes, let us see~

Ja, bringing another one of Komatsu's fake-out death experiences up to state your case of how well handled these kinds of things are in this manga is not to your advantage.
If Shima actually killed the characters he's left with some contrived means of bringing them back. If he didn't kill the characters then he used an entire chapter to pull off some kind of genjutsu and mostly everyone called it. If that's the case then the execution of the chapter wasn't very tense at all. It was great artwork and made for some shock value but if it all comes to fruition next week that they're all alright it would be pretty much a waste of an entire chapter. That would be a shame too because I really enjoyed this chapter. It's what happens next that irks me.
But again, I would rather take that then have Zebra dead and then be revived in a couple of chapters (or maybe even next chapter?) because that too would be pretty much a waste of a chapter. If you wanted to show off Bambina's strength the wise way to do it would be to say he's like…one of the 8 Kings or something...hmmm...get a numbered measurement of his strength...imply that he's on par or even strong than Heracles...watch him throw mountains across the world…you know, stuff like that. Not help him be a part of the trampling of the notion of death in this series.
