Probably the most "by the book" or "less stellar" chapter of the Flashback. Which means it's still pretty good, but not AS good as the others. The pacing was weird and some things happened kind of sporadically, and a bit too fast. . .
. . .but that ending. The ending was fantastic. The way Cora hanged in there till Tsuru's ship started bombarding the Dofla family, and then Law could cry his eyes out with no one else hearing him.
Great stuff, really.
Rocinante was great.

Um, no… http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/761/12 The flashback started with Doffy and Law talking about the raining he had. Since this flashback has covered everything, including things Law does not know, I would fully expect it to follow him a little bit longer. We'll definitely see him heal himself, and I'm 99% sure we'll see him set out to sea to take down Doflamingo, and that'll probably be where the Flashback ends.
Law is an incredibly major character, and probably will be for the rest of the series. Oda is giving us everything
The flashback's sole purpose was to explain how the Rocinante situation came about. Showing law healing himself would be redundant and a waste of pages since we know that he does so anyways. Law's crew has nothing to do with the story this flashback is telling at all.
By the way: Wouldn't it be awesome if Oda shows Sanji situation when we come back to present time..?

Curse you, Oda! You sure know how to make your likeable characters go down in a (quiet) bang. Roci's last moments truly felt emotional, especially the peaceful smile of the snow-covered joker.
I hope we get back to the present next chapter, because any further flashback moment will feel dull after this climax.
On a side note, the first page with Homing's death seemed kinda rushed. Random cases thrown together, no introduction…Would probably have been better if it were spread on 2 pages.

You know, wouldn't it be great if Law would got to beat Doflamingo and win for Corazon? It's not going to happen, almost certainly, but it would be nice.
Also, HAH! That's why you always have pen and paper by your side, silly Rocinante. If he did, he could have written a message to Sengoku and saved Dressrosa.
Or hell, just send Law with the message. Marines could've solved half the problems in this world if people would tell them about stuff.
Tsuru having that kind of reputation and living up to it is nice though.

kinda funny though how he starts following a 10 year old child, as he himself would be 18 in that flashback.

If corazon is a full fledged marine it's kinda strange how well sengoku took the news that he was leaving his mission for 'personal reasons' though….doesn't seem enough of a justification for not doing your job.

You know what will be awesome? If Oda ends the flashback by showing a cooking ship save kid Law or give him transportation to next island and we see kid SANJI on the ship as a chef apprentice. This will be Oda showing every character he has mentioned to be from North blue.
Good stuff. X drake confirmed, and hopefully this flashback's finally over. Although it was a pretty slick chapter. I'm glad they didn't drag out the beating down of Rosinante like I thought they would. I also really like the danger and sadness over the betrayal that Doflamingo has been displaying. No crazy creepy grins or anything. Just a solemn frown the entire time. Pretty cool.

Yeah, that felt different. I mean, it's the same old "die with a smile" we've seen a lot by now, but that image was weirdly calm and peaceful, considering a fucking battle was going on.
Kinda goes hand in hand with Roci's power of silence.
As always, tons of things of notice:
1- It seems Trebol was a head honcho of sorts and probably gave Doffy his DF? And Vergo's previous boss? Seems he bowed down to lil Doffy's early CoC awakening, bloodthirst and cruelty. Guess he saw tons of potential in that lil psycho. Makes his appearance in the last fight more understandable.
2- So Drake was already a strong fighter, he just "doesn't have the balls" (he does run away kinda scared by the looks of his face). Or maybe, you know, when you constantly beat your son and treat him like crap, that might just come back and bite you in the ass someday.
3- People run away from Tsuru all the time. Doffy looked actually worried that she was facing them head on. So. . .Tsuru confirmed as a real badass?
4- Kinda cool how Oda willingly evened-out the roll of impossibly bad luck they had during the past two chapters by giving them one incredibly lucky push in here. I guess Karma is not that big of a bitch, after all?

Hey I think I have a great idea about why doffy really took over dressrosa after this Flashback.
Doffy was a child as a tenruybito but he was old enough to grow accoustomed to that life and form a sense of entitlement. He saw himself as a god as the others in the holy land. So after his father stripped them of their status and made them go through hell I think doffy is trying to reclaim the status he lost… he cant do it by becoming a noble again but he can sort of replicate it by becoming the king of a major nation. one that was his peoples land to begin with.
so maybe he felt like " hey my father took away my world noble birthright so im gonna take my birthright to the land my family orignated from. And live like a king there since the world noble wont accept me back"
