Seven Deadly Sins
-
-
Its pretty much Angemon 2.0.
-
Had to look at Silverblade's spoiler. Than just had to see it, even if it's in chinese. Fuck yeah
-
It's Nakaba we're talking about, that's expected.
-
It took the story 100 chapters to come to a seemingly satisfying conclusion. Now where will it go next? Finding the last of the Sins should be a priority but what else needs to be done? Help rebuild the kingdom? Or travel around the country and help people in need? Or perhaps visit all those places we saw glimpses of during Merlin's magic attack back then? I sure as hell wanna know.
Hawk coming back to life needed to happen. Even if it's a bit of an asspull and probably won't be explained in detail, I'm still happy to see the little bugger back with the gang.

Here is the scan. I find it a bit cheap for hawk to be alive so easily, but it was expected. Now let's see where the story goes.
Seeing how the sins are the only ones worth a damn anymore (Holy knights are pathetic strength wise), I predict we will either see a continuation of the Ban subplot with Meliodas or the seventh sin will be some kind of bad guy. All in all, its still one of the best mangas I read every week.
-
Can't wait to see full armored Gowther.
-
We still lack an explanation about Hawks survival. But other than that a chapter that just makes you feel good. (Except when your name is Diane or King. (King, just man up already!!))
Gowther will get a new armor? I wonder just how important that armor is for Gowther to need one. (Hopefully he isn´t the only one to get an armor)
Gowthers and Merlins relationship should be pretty intriguing. -
Every time Diane and King get a panel I just feel so bad for them ;_;. I wonder if Elizabeth is going to heal Gauser and the rest of Threader's crew or are they too fucked.
I knew Hawk would get revived and I'm real damn happy about it, love that little swine.
-
Meh, he didn't even get an afro.
-
Chapter got so much better the moment I saw Merlin!
Overall it was okay, now looking forward to them finding the last Sin and whatnot. Also, will Ban and Meliodas have their fight now, wonder what will happen there.
-
Merlin is way too suspicious of a character to become part of the team.
She appears right after the fight ends and she admits to be messing with demon magic. She is going to backstab (again) the Sins in no time.
-

Hauser will live (someone has got to explain what happened), but two of the Dawn Roar are beyond any saving.
-
Talk about a Deus Ex Hawkina – but knowing this author, we'll probably get an explanation down the road.
Anyways, plot points that still need to be wrapped up:
-The last sin
-Finding their weapons
-The Demon Clan (i.e. who was helping Gowther)
-Liones and Camelot
-Why Merlin mindwiped Meliodas
-The Wanted Posters (e.g. why Meliodas looked like an adult even though everyone knew he doesn't age a bit considering he's over 300 years-old)
-Truth about Elizabeth's lineage and the Druids
-Ban and Meliodas fight to revive Fairy Princess
-Each of the Sins resolving their sins
-Diane remembering her past with King -

Who was inside Dreyfus mind.
And why Merlin doesn't use bra. -
Cool. Merlin gave the armor to Gowther.
More material to an old theory that every sin has a bound to another before the group is formed.Ban-Elaine/King-Diane
Gowther-MerlinI want it to be a chain. Every flashback of a sin introduces the next.
-
Hawk being alive is the worst thing so far in the run of Seven Deadly Sins
Extremely disappointing
I'm usually really forgiving with comics and especially with shonen, but fuck this -
-
Complaining Hawk is actually alive.
-
Not flippin a shit about Gowther getting beheaded and still living afterwards.
Uh?
-
-
don't even try that shit with me
Gowther is some sort of automaton or whatever
The actions of any character and the story itself need to have consequence. Skipping it is my most hated thing in literature in general
edit: It's especially deceiving because when Liz used her healing powers Hawk wasn't healed right there.
This is some Pell level sort of garbage
seriously how can you be that ball-less -
Before Gowther was even introduced Hawk had been surviving shit that would kill any other animal if it was just that. But Hawk is obviously not your average pig, and the side chapter about his meeting with Meliodas further emphasizes that.
You can take it like you want. I respect each other's opinion, of course, but had to highlight this.
-
Instead of being an invincible dragon like he wanted to, he's an invincible pig. :D
-
Merlin didn't seem surprised at all.
-
Elizabeth somehow did something that revived Hawk, that should be the explanation why Hawk is alive. The scene with Ban apologizing to Hawk was sad
-
Well, I didn't like Merlin's appearance at all. What for the author bring her back? Were she or Bartra necessary in this end? Not at all, He could close the arc with out making a poor appearance, given that they left the scene, say, 30 minutes ago. That was pretty bad stuff.
Honestly the end reminded me of that gif…
!
But well. The story still has (dark) potential… I hope. Just my personal view.
-
Merlin said she would come back when she felt like it, so yeah.

I didn't get your complain at all.
What you mean with they aren't necessary? The whole manga since the beginning is about the holy knights overthrowing the kingdom… without the king coming back, there isn't a proper ending. And Merlin teletransported him to another kingdom at kilometers of distance, she has to come back to deliver the king to his own kingdom. This is the only possible end to the arc. Be it in this especific chapter or in the next, this had to be shown so we can call an end.
-
The King was being treated by Merlin, so the only way he could return to the kingdom fast was through her teleportation powers. Nothing wrong with that.
-
I didn't get your complain at all.
Yes you didn't. Being not the end of the manga, she doesn't have to appear now. Not just 30 minutes after she has left, just to not be there in the fight against the villain of the arc. That's far-fetched.
-
You need to never have read a shounen in your life to think that Hawk was dead for ever…
But even if that was expected i really liked that scene and way hawk reappears.
Also the chapter adds some mistery about the sin interactions. And i guess the couple is now official. -
It has been official since Gowther inquired on it. You could say between Elizabeth and Hawk's resurrection that Meliodas has finally regained his happiness.
I feel bad for Diane, though.
-
Just thought I'd add this here!
A mini-coloring!
-
Well now that I think about it, Meliodas is a 3000+ year old antichrist who has seen far worse shit than "Demon-Wannabe" Hendy. If there´s someone I´d trust to pull something out of his ass in this manga, it´d probably be him.
And yeah, Hawk obviously isn´t a normal talking animal, that has already been established in the most recent extra-chapter. I don´t think his revival had anything to do with Elizabeths tears, since Elizabeth can´t resurrect the dead.
We just need an explanation of what Hawk exactly is, so his survival won´t be bullshit anymore. -
I'm fine with the Hawk part. Not really with Merlin's since the timing of her return was too convenient.
-

That and her experimenting with the powers of the demon realm is really suspicious. I also kind of don´t trust Gowther anymore, since his existence seems to have strong ties to Merlin.

I thought you liked Merlin.
I do. It's a different matter that she's not required in some moments. A matter of balance, I guess.
-
@Mister:
That and her experimenting with the powers of the demon realm is really suspicious.
It isn't like she was trying to hide that, on the contrary, she told it so casually to Meliodas, the person that she knocked out and that have some unknow bond with the demons.
I think it isn't a reason to be suspicious to her now.If she really wanted to do any harm, then the perfect moment would be 10 years ago, but Merlin didn't touch the dragon handle or Meliodas' sacred treasure
-
I think Hawk coming back is the result of Hendricksen getting killed. If that's the case, then everyone affected by it should be revived.
-
Ok so reasons Hawk got revived:
a) Because Hendricksen got killed
b) Elizabeth somehow saved hm
c) Merlin saved him -

anyone else notice that when Merlin asks what happened to Gowther's armor, he responds "it was broken" in a normal speech balloon? or at least a rounded one. I can't remember if he's ever used that before, usually he has the rectangular boxes. Perhaps he has a special connection with Merlin? The armor holds greater significance?
my theory is that he's a homunculus created BY Merlin.
and I think Hawk is truly immortal. Or rather, his spirit is. Meliodas had a parrot that was definitely the same "person", who must have died, then reincarnated as a pig. Before that, the Parrot might have been a human? Ban refers to him as "the master", but it's entirely possible he's just being jokingly respectful. And Meliodas says "come back to us when you can", implying he knows Hawk (or the spirit that lives within him) will return at some point. It's just surprising that Hawk came back right away, in the same body.
So there's two half-baked theories for you.
-
my theory is that he's a homunculus created BY Merlin.
Didn't consider that, but it would make sense. He seemed to be an artificial life form from the start. Background info was lacking, but this armor bit brings possibilities, at least.
-
Even if it that makes sense, personally I'd like Gowther to be an original sin comparable to the others, belonging to some weird race or something. Just a romantic feeling about the sins. Also if Merlin is just fantastic, she doesn't need to be the creator of another sin… too much hype... But it's a chance.
d) He resurrects as a baby every time he dies
…the leftover of a dead pig is a leftover eating mini-pig.
-
Holy shit. Someone over at MH made an excellent post about the whole reincarnation stuff.
Meliodas' Dragon's sin of wrath is represented by an Ouroboros which symbolizes cyclicality, something that constantly recreates itself. That is what happened with Hawk here and once before when he died as Wandle as we had seen in the extra chapter.
There was another instance of reincarnation happening. We know Liz from Meliodas' past and Elizabeth are somehow connected, but we don't know how. These reincarnation stuff explains it. Liz died and reincarnated into baby Elizabeth (who is, as we already know, originally from Danafor)
According to Arthurian Legends Lyoness got destroyed, sunken beneath the sea. Its destruction was caused by a "divine wrath". Just like Danafor. Who is at the center of all that? Meliodas.
So as it appears, there's some unknown force of cyclism at work. Lyoness is destined to experience the same destruction. Perhaps that's why the Goddess Clan seeks Meliodas' death, because it will also bring back the Demon Clan regardless of Hendericksen's efforts.

Rather than a homunculus, I'd say Gowther was a Golem. It's the closest mythological being to a robot, and considering Gowther can exist without his head, I'd say there's no way he can be anything but a robot. Homunculus on the otherhand are "living beings" in the sense that they are mortal, bleed, and would die if their heads got chopped off.
As for Hawk, I'm not sure why he was revived, but I don't think it had anything to do with Hendrickson being killed, Elizabeth healing him, or Merlin saving him;
- Hendrickson's demon magic shouldn't be dispellable upon death, otherwise King's sister would've been reborn after the demon killed her
- Elizabeth can only heal people who aren't dead, and it happens instantly upon touch
- Merlin's magic shouldn't be strong enough to dispell demon powers
As for Ban calling Hawk "master", it's a common title for employees at a bar. It's an appropriate title given Hawk works at a the Boar Hat.
There was another instance of reincarnation happening. We know Liz from Meliodas' past and Elizabeth are somehow connected, but we don't know how. These reincarnation stuff explains it. Liz died and reincarnated into baby Elizabeth (who is, as we already know, originally from Danafor)
I don't think they're the same person. Meliodas destroyed Danafor after Liz was killed, however Elizabeth was already alive at that point given Veronica said that Elizabeth actually hails from Danafor and was adopted into the royal family of Liones. We don't know much about Elizabeth's early life, but unless she was adopted as a baby, I think it would be too simple of a connection. Elizabeth also has the Druid's power so one of her parents (or both) would be a Druid.

! I swear to God, Gowther is creeping the hell out of me. It was all fun and games at first, now he's like an evil puppet who just snapped out of its lethargy.
-
Chapter is out.
Gowther is a creepy bastard and Merlin is a lying witch but damn she is cute.
Out of six sins at least three of them are most likely to backstab the rest when they have the chance, we live in interesting times.
-
Chapter 102 is also out.
Things are about to get interesting again. What the hell is Gowther up to?
-
Everyone is getting strangely too lovey-dovey with each other. Gowther, who was super creepy in these two chapters by the way, is probably responsible for that, especially considering what Guila said about the "power of love".
So with Ban leaving the group and Merlin rejoining, we're still left with five out of the seven. Now there's also the mystery of who's taken the Coffin of Darkness…
-
There is a reason why Gowther is the Goat's sin of Lust.
Why Ban, why?….
