Because most fall into either of those two categories, sorry to say. When I see arguments that I value, I say so. And, mind you, I agree with people who argue well.
That isn't actually true. Unless you are speaking of different logic than one I've been taught.
But the thought is very clearly present in almost everyone I have ever argued with.
I don't have problems with people disagreeing with me, just with the way they do so.
I know I'm a bit late, but the only other option I could suggest to you is friend those you don't mind doing the long discussions about, so then you don't have to worry about arguing with those you don't care to. I like discussing stuff with you, and I know my arguments aren't quite as good as they could be, being I'm still getting used to arguing in forums.
BTW, I remember last chapter you said you prefer when Oda is more subtle (though I don't think he's ever been subtle about stuff). What were your thoughts on the portrayal of Doflamingo's past? It was hitting us in the face to get the point across, but it was short and to the point. Just want to know your thoughts on that.
On to other things.
In one of the last few chapter threads, I made a prediction about how Corazon and Law would bond. I was completely wrong, which it would've been more surprising if I was spot on. However, I feel that there are certain elements of my prediction that might be fitting for other stuff.
First of all, I think we found out this chapter why Doflamingo is hesitant to kill Law. From last week, and this week, we see that Law and Doflamingo have quite similar pasts. Both of them lost everything, their lives were hell thanks to the stupidity/corruption of various people/groups, and they both want to destroy because of that (I know there are some differences, but overall they have similar experiences, especially since Law is about the same age Doflamingo was when all the stuff happened to him). Doflamingo reading a book about the town Law was from, then having a dream about what he went through, strengthens this connection. Because of that, Doflamingo wants Law to become like him, so that's why he did all these things. While Law betrayed him, he still has that connection, along with the whole family bond, that makes him hesitant to kill him. Now there may be other reasons for not killing him right away, but I feel this is a big part of it.
We saw a clear difference between Doflamingo and Corazon in the flashback. Doflamingo was all about the wealth and his privileges, but we see Corazon clinging to his mom, and the one crying by her bed when she dies. This shows why each one of them turned out differently, and also shows Corazon is a Mama's boy.
As far as Doflamingo's father goes, it shows that no matter if a CD is "good" or "bad", they are all naïve. While he had good intentions (at least from what we can gather, we really don't know his reasonings", he was to stupid to consider what would happen having their title stripped away from them. It keeps the whole theme that these people clearly need to be slapped by reality to learn a lesson. Seeing how much Doflamingo grew from his experience, I wander if the CD that got punched by Luffy learned any lessons.
A few small things that may not mean anything. First is that Doflamingo said he was in the Devil Fruit trading business. Now I believe this was before Ceasar was around, so did they trade regular Devil fruits? I wonder if they do that as well. That would explain how they got the Mera, and probably how a number of the members got their powers.
Other thing was that they asked Doflamingo's father to hand over a chip to them. What does this chip do? Maybe it's a tracking device so that nobody can just kidnap them and run off with them for ransom. Maybe it keeps signs of their vitals so if something happens to them, the WG knows right away. Or maybe it's something that would allow them access back to Marejois? Or maybe it's nothing/mistranslation.
Anyways, very nice chapter. Loving the flashback, with a nice pace, and being able to see them do the various things is very nice. Seems like some people are warming up to the arc again because of the flashback stuff.
I doubt it needs a "D" to control it. He knew about it, it seems he wanted that power Law has for himself, given he said he had no intention of giving it to him…..I'd still like to say Ancient weapon could be the their national treasure, if not that then something....hopefully we'll learn about it in this flash back....
yea, it's just my assumption that we need "D" to control the treasure. I also haven't put ope ope no mi to the equation.

He's more intellectual and coldheartly calculates his plans for revenge. I think thats why alot of people were surprised at this reveal, because his character shows nearly zero similarities with the other Ds.

Because they're not like people in this chapter whose hold such grudge against Tenryuubitos. I don't see any practically efficient reasons to attack them considering the risk. Someone might be able to overpower admirals, but that doesn't mean that it's going to happen without taking any losses and risk would still be considerable regardless if they're stronger or not.

My favourite charcter in OP is Law! He's just so OP and badass. He so awesome he's a shichibukai and he always has a badass expression on his face! He has a sword+long coat(b.a. design btw). And also he is a D how more awesome could you get. Also it was so cool when he cut the cool smoke dude and smiled smugly at him! <3. Law is just too unstoppable he's massively hypersonic.
Oh and my second favourite was Ace, he was cu-I mean cool until Oda decided to kill him :( So now my new favourite is Sabo! He's just like Ace! He so badass, he has the same fire power as ace, he's Luffy's brother like Ace only he has blonde hair! he owned an admiral dude, and is a tenryubito and is no 2 in the revolutionaries! My least favourite is that metal guy because he dared to hit Law! But at least he got it back when he was sliced with the OP OP (op means overpowered) fruit!
I wrote this awesome fanfic where Law is a D and he has CoC and he all forms of haki. He could cut straight through whitebeard, shanks and mihawk! without any trouble and his sword has an awesome backstory as a legendary cursed blade. He has a three way with Zoro(yay) and Peeka(yucks) and remember when Zoro awesomely sliced Peeka's rock statue well imagine Law doing that with a bigger slice. He goes on a journey to be the best swordsman pirate and he defeats every single enemy. It turns out he was descend from the kings of the ancient kingdom which is why he is 'D'. Of course other stupid characters like that ugly Blackbeard aren't actually royalty even though hes D also. And roger has the strawhat and the gum gum fruit, but was actually weaker than Law dad who is cool also.

So much hype and focus has been built around this dude, it just feels too much. Imagine Vivi being a super powerful character, and usurping all the other strawhat's focus and screen time (even if there would have been only 6), and having a Straw hat level backstory and all that stuff…The D thing is actually just the icing on the cake, and now that I think about it, there too much Law hype for him not to be some kind of Strawhat member in even the smallest way, shape or form.

Well that has nothing to do with this, but I felt the impel down blackbeard made sense to me. The Real Life Blackbeard was once a privateer before quitting, so One Piece's Blackbeard is the same. I suppose everything in OP will make sense in the big picture. I feel Law is forced hyped, but I really see what wrong with the blackbeard thing was bad.
Any way, I do actually like the chapter(as always, no matter what…) just that this particular plot point doesn't sit well with me.

That panel of Doflamingo and family being strung out of the windows in that pose makes him eating his string devil fruit later on in life and being able to to that unto others incredibly ironic.
The mangastream version is finally out! I love the characterization for Doflamingo, I'd give the chapter 10/10 just for that. Yes, the D thing is to make Law even more "special", but I don't really care because it's another connection to the D mystery which I am eager to learn about. I really liked the dialog-less pages of just showing Law's interactions with the other Donquixote family members. It was just a great chapter dealing with a very interesting theme and generally just a chapter with a lot of character thanks to Dofla's family.

What's the problem of having an ally who doesn't leave everything to the Straw Hats and actually can manage to fight on par with their Captain? And it's not like all the Straw Hats have "Straw Hat-level" backstories, like Usopp's mighty 1-page flashback.
Most allies tend to be fodder who mostly contribute from the shadows, fighting other fodder and serving as hype tools for stronger, officer characters.

See, the problem with Law being a D and with Sabo getting the Mera Mera fruit is that it is almost 'too good to be true.'
Whatever happened in that stadium, Sabo getting the fruit by virtue of being Ace's and Luffy's brother is a little too convenient and places a ton of emotional significance into the Mera Mera fruit itself. It's like Oda is saying, 'Please love Sabo as much as you all have loved Ace.' People would have loved Sabo regardless I think, but now we know exactly how significant Sabo will be to the storyline.
That aside, Law has essentially become what I had feared he would be: Oda's version of Sasuke from Naruto. He has a dark, sympathetic past, godlike devil fruit powers, godlike medical skills, handsome features that make all the fan girls swoon and a strong connection to Luffy and the plot. (Though he is not an enemy, for now. I don't think he ever will be though)
Now he's a D. All the D's are significant to the story and the foundations of the world that exists presently in One Piece. They are connected to the void century and the remnants of a huge threat to the World Government. It's almost as though it entitles Law to everything we've seen from him, like the crown on a king's head. (Not literal mind you)
There's nothing wrong with liking Law for any and all of those reasons, but I feel that is forced, especially coming from Oda. To me, it is uncharacteristic of his work in general so I'm disappointed. But hey, maybe Law knows more about The D family other than that he's supposed to keep it a secret and that it makes him a threat. Also it justifies somewhat his motives for saving Luffy after the war.
I'm just not thrilled about it.
I love this chapter though, it almost makes the Dressrosa arc worth while. Dolfy is actually at fault for drawing attention to his family. I think his father was planning to live QUIETLY as a normal human, though he was naive to have let his son run wild like that. I actually think he and his wife were very brave for doing something so radical and maybe that was his way of trying to live with the values he wanted for his family, which didn't involve slavery or indoctrinated dominance. Dolfy should be forgiven because he was just a child, though that doesn't make him blameless either. Essentially, their whole family were victims of the system the world government created with the celestial dragons.
Also liking Corazon a lot. I think he was a decent man, like his father may have been.

Fuji's grudge is against the warlords
Chances are that the guy who cut off Z's arm in Movie Z is the one who made Fuji blind in the manga. Oda needs to hype the last warlord as an even bigger than Doflamingo, so him being capable of wounding someone of Admiral caliber to that extent does the trick.

I don't really see that happening. Law doesn't really have a reason to invite her and even if he did, it would be rather bad taste considering her doormat tendencies. It's more likely that Doffy pirates get their own cover story.

But hey, maybe Law knows more about The D family other than that he's supposed to keep it a secret and that it makes him a threat. Also it justifies somewhat his motives for saving Luffy after the war.

I agree with all of that, also I sorta liked to think of the non SH supernovas as equals, (not in the original sense, but I lack the words to explain how I feel) and then we have Law being a D and that alone sets him apart too much from the rest of the supernovas and make him more important than the rest and thats annoying to a degree.

@ NER: I miss that too! I really like Kidd as a character and am disappointed that he and the other pirates he's allied with have been put on the side for now.
Law getting so much attention takes away from the other Straw hats and even Luffy to a certain degree too. I trust Oda will go back to each member and continue to develop them as he has done so throughout the New World segment, but I am worried that Law will take over a huge chunk of the plot for several years to come.
