The Villager's up and down aerials both have turnips…as if to say one move is a rise in the stalk market and the other is a drop :P

The Knee of Justice has been buffed from its unspeakably bad Brawl version. I'm looking forward to maining Captain Falcon again.
-
Well some final thoughts on the demo.
-The gameplay is smooth as silk, no question. 60 fps on the 3DS looks great, and while it's pretty noticeable when Assist Trophies/Pokemon are operating at only 30, it's a needed sacrifice to keep the chaos going.
-Link is great. I used him a lot in Melee, kinda switched to Toon Link in Brawl, but he's a lot faster and stronger now. I'll definitely be using him more.
-Megaman's forward smash is soooo satisfying to use.
-Villager is amazing, no question! Every move the character uses puts a smile on my face. Umbrellas, pots, bowling balls, fireworks….all these objects make for a deadly combination! And Pocket....hahaha. :D
-I'm a little disappointed that Mario retains his Brawl voice clips, thought we'd hear some new ones. Ah well. Can't wait to kick some ass with my #1 main again.
-I want to use Robin and Rosalina so badly…..Question for codes....it only applies to NA systems?
-
NA codes only work on NA systems. EU codes only work on EU systems. On that note, if anyone has any spare codes, I could use one.

I believe codes are region locked, as in NA only work for NA systems. However NA isnt the only one to get this.
EDIT: Goddamnit croc, foiled again!

Don't you mean… rise like a FALCON??????

Can't wait to battle my brother. At least I'll be able to do Smash Run with someone~

Touche!
Also, now that plenty of people have had their hands on at least a portion of the game, I wonder how long it will take the competitive community to declare the game terrible and flock back to Mele/Project M.

That reminds me: Jigglypuff's design this time around seems to based on the Firered/Leafgreen model:

I like it.

Mugen, check this video to the 1:15 mark:
Heh, that's awesome. Doesn't look quite as good as his model in X/Y, but it's still great.

There is something so incredibly satisfying about making Megaman KO himself with his own Smash attack using Mario's cape.

Woah, whoa, whoa What?!
That is just so wrong on so many levels! -

Villager's even better. If you know when to use the cape, you can make him drop a bowling ball on himself.
-
Nice, haven't done that to Villager yet.

I can't stop playing 1v1 with a lv1 computer on Omega Battlefield…...
The computer is so ridiculously bad that it's only really good at coming at me and attempting to recover after being launched... This is BASICALLY training mode for me while I try to learn the physics and hitboxes for each attack.
Speaking of which, Here's some stuff I've discovered:
Mega Man- Mega Man's Hard Knuckle (Down-Air) is an AMAZINGLY good spike overall. Between it launching pretty far down and the Rush Coil (Up+B) recovery, It's probably the safest spike I've ever attempted in all my time playing all 3 prior Smash Bros. The only downside is it has a pretty tiny hitbox so you have to sweetspot it for it to work, and the character HAS to be below the hard knuckle before it leaves your arm. If the character is touching your arm when you launch it, he'll go horizontal rather than vertical.
- Mega Man's Crash Bomber (Side+B) is only really useful to me in a 4-player Free For all. When it's 1 on 1, even lower level computers know to shield just as it goes off to prevent damage. I suppose I can shoot Mega Buster shots and Metal Blades at the opponent to throw his attempt to shield off balance, and it might be good to keep my opponent preoccupied. (While he's preparing to shield at the right time, I can set up my approach) but overall I'm finding it hard to use.
- Metal Blade (Neutral B) and Leaf Shield (Down+B) are feeling like they're next to useless to me. I can't really come up with any good uses for them, which is a shame since I love the rest of Mega Man's playstyle. I find myself using the Metal Blade just a tad more than Leaf Shield tho, it does come in handy as a kindof distraction.
- Shoryuken (Up+Tilt) is amazing. It's much like Luigi's Up+B in Brawl. It does decent damage if you hit the opponent after later in the animation, however, if you get it on the first few frames as he's starting it up, it's beastly and I've actually been able to KO opponents above 80% with it.
Villager - His Down-Air is a spike, but ONLY if you sweetspot it perfectly, which I find even harder to do than Mega Man's Hard Knuckle. You have to hit them with the tip of the radishes only as they're extended out, if you hit with it too soon or another part of the radish hits them, it won't work.
- Timber (Down+B) is really fun to pull off, but the only really practical use I've found for it thus far is as an edgeguarding technique. It works pretty effectively for this purpose, as it tumbles over the edge and has a pretty large hitbox.
- His Neutral B is really fun, I can pocket most anything with it. You can even pocket Megaman's small Mega Buster pellets, which I find hysterical, but you can do it.
Other than Link's Dash attack, his changes are mostly in that everything got severely buffed. I'm actually enjoying playing as Link whereas before he would not have been my first pic. Same actually goes with Pikachu and Mario, tho to a slightly lesser extent. REALLY excited to see what kinds of Buffs the other Veterans may have gotten.

A lot of people neglect the tree overall. I thought it was just dumb cpu's unsure of what to do but I fought a match with a friend and he had trouble dealing with it too.
We gotta represent as the happy tree people of smash.

We are the Villager Green Preservation Society.

I believe most of you are missing a key fact about Megaman that indicates that he should be used as much as possible:
-
So I was lucky enough to get a code, and well my fear, if I can call it that, about the screen being to small, at least in the stage that comes with the demo doesn't seem too small, so I'll wait until I get the full game. Now gameplay wise, it's surprisingly comfortable, but I need time to get used to it, but everything feels good so far.

For some reason im having trouble pulling that move off, anyone else find it a bit difficult to not charge up instead? Any tips rin?

I still find it's really damn annoying to do tilts. Sure, I can do them if I really think about it and consciously and carefully veeeeeeeeeery slightly move the stick. But I mean, wanting to dash in for a couple hits and transition instantly into an up tilt? Not gonna happen. It really blows.

It's hard in this build for me, I usually turn off tap up to jump, so doing up tilts has been a problem for me. This being a Demo, I can't turn that off, so I have to deal with it. I figured out how to do it, but I can't pull them off as reliably as I'd be able to if It were off.
-
The 3ds and 3ds XL weren't meant for a game like Smash. They're too damn small. The analog stick has barely enough room for the subtle movements necessary for tilts and turning around and in general blows really fucking hard, the ABXY buttons are too damn close to each other, and my hands feel a little too cramped even on the 3ds XL for my liking when I'm mashing the buttons regularly. I can't imagine what it's like on the regular 3ds.
-
it's not too bad on a regular 3ds. I also have problems with pulling off tilts which makes mega man hard to use but i'll just have to get use to it. The only other problem i have is for platformers on 3ds i unconsciously use the d-pad to move and so i keep taunting. I also press a to try and jump and i nstead attack. These are minor problems with myself on the 3ds not the game though

I didn't knew Falco was voiced by Zoro. Is there a Kid Icarus version?
On other note:I tottaly forgot this is a 2011 thread.
-
There are no Kid Icarus Smash Taunts as far as I know.
-
I wonder if they'll use the same voices in the English version that were used in Melee, like they did with Brawl, or if they'll get new voice actors.
-
All cut characters get trophies as expected ( bar Snake ).
-
^Obviously to throw us off from the DLC trail.
-
sigh Hopefully.
-
I'm sort of hoping for similar reasons we don't see any Golden Sun trophies. That would make Camelot Games' credit even more conspicuous.
-
-
Yup, theres no doubt now. Villagers gonna kill us all.
-
Wait … what happens when he returns the pocket from that final smash?
-
Anyone have a spare code?
-
I did a little experimentation and it looks like pocketed things will disappear if not pulled out within 30 seconds of pocketing.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, it seems a little weird that you cannot pocket pokeballs. I don't care if they thought it might be weird or too powerful, but for Dio's sake they're called Pocket Monsters.
-
i havn't tried pocketing poke balls or assist trophies but my friend pocketed the wind from the gust bellows and then throw it back at me. That was amusing XD
-
Lolll I just found out you can pocket Megaman's Rush Coil and use him to jump at least on the ground. The idea of stuffing a robotic dog bigger than you in your pocket endlessly amuses me.
-
Alright got my 3DS back. We're in business now. Guess my bronI'll duke it out next week when I go home
-
The one that gets me is pocketing Mario's FLUDD and using it against him.
Also amusing, for truly daring Villagers: killing an enemy with the watering can.
-
Messed around with Villager this morning, and I'm really growing on the character. I think he's just replaced Mega Man as my favorite in the demo (lolz like there was much of a selection anyway).
-
According to a Gamexplain video, you can set to use items on omega stages in the full version.

Ah, sweet! I'm glad this is true. Especially since I was whining about this earlier, haha.
-
I think making items off on Omega Stages by default was their way of limiting your options in the demo while still giving you the ability to play Items off in it if you wanted to. I fully expected the customizability to be better on the full version.
Also, apparently, tons of Japanese gamers are breaking their Nintendo 3DS circle pads playing Smash.
