Leorio got Kurapika to smile again.
Hiatus x Hiatus III: Goodnight, Sweet Princes
-
-
At least we know there are about 4-6 innocent zodiac members. Mizai couldn't have hidden from kurapikas powers cuz he just saw them at work. At most there might be one more but we can assume it's just the monkey
But what happens after, will they keep him around and watch his movements or kick him out and replace him. Gon kinda looks like a monkey sometimes but he's not ready and I'll be pissed if killua is made a monkey
Earlier on Gon was always compared with a wild animal, and a monkey definitely fits his agility. In any event, Killua's no Zodiac, but he may be the cat! Way too many cat faces as proof. XP
-
Unless he's somehow telling Mizai who the traitor is, I don't see why Kurapika would say Saiyuu is the traitor when Mizai is the one the whole time. If Mizai can cover his lies as mentioned in the chapter, then that's another story, but that still doesn't explain Saiyuu being called the traitor.
If the true traitor's ability is powerful enough to convince a liar that they're telling the truth, it also may be strong enough to do the opposite and make an honest person behave suspiciously.
-
I'm actually hoping this 'who is the mole' business is done with, there is already a lot going on.
-
So one prince murders and tortures women, another horribly abuses animals. Does every prince have a thing where he inflicts suffering upon some group or creatures for fun?
Sure. In addition to those two, there's one who tortures and murders men; one who tortures and murders children; the elderly; the handicapped; and then the last one who tortures and murders plants.
The others don't talk to him very much.
-
with all this chaos and the inclusion of so many strong people we have to assume that the spiders and hisoka will make an appearance. Hisoka because he wouldn't want to miss a chance on a ship with so many strong people trying to kill each other and the spiders just cuz hxh likes to fuck with us. but seriously 14 princes that seem strong as well as 70 bodyguards (5 for each prince) all trying to kill each other and if we make the assumption that they all have pro hunter strength then the trip to dc alone would be epic. I don't mind gon and killua being excluded from this arc but hisoka is a must. This is a chance to see hisoka go all out.

Leorio got Kurapika to smile again.
Important plot points being inserted thanks to the opening theme!
-
Decided to finally read HxH manga. Don't like it, but still finished up to last chapter.
Btw Leorio have the most useless power I've seen and all Hunters made such a big deal out of it. Ging probably used it to add at least some value to that crap by taking out those fodders with it. Unless Leorio can guide his attacks through human body towards vital organs.
-
Well, with bodyguards being rejected we can have a prince employing the Spiders and the other one having the Zoldycks. Also, Historically (folklore) it is quite easy to deceive a monkey in some stories so maybe Saiyuu has had his mind wiped and is being used. The Journey to the west characters designs may be pointing to him being controlled via the crown or some way or being deceived as he's a jolly fellow that doesn't rely too much on brains (Sun Wu Kong).
Also, it's cool having the prince carving the insides of a woman….but another character with a Mullet Togashi? Dial it down Satan.

Wait but Sun Wu Kong was a really smart dude and did most of the deceiving unless he really needed to get wrecked to get checked?
Also, it's cool having the prince carving the insides of a woman….but another character with a Mullet Togashi? Dial it down Satan.
The worst crime depicted in Hunter x Hunter:
-Kids being eaten by a giant enemy crab
-Dissecting a brain to find out the secrets of super powers
-carving the insides of a women
-Mullets -
@Purple:
Wait but Sun Wu Kong was a really smart dude and did most of the deceiving unless he really needed to get wrecked to get checked?
Before Meeting…fuck, i just forgot the name of Tripitaka (The more used name,i mean) he was a more tempered trickster. More Brains. After beginning the journey to the west he does gets tricked several number of times cause he's so Gung Ho a number of times. One of those times, ironically, he was the only one not being deceived. It really depends of the situation but Forward Trickster in literatura trick a number of time but are deceived but other Trickster a fair number of times since they are really good hearted. Of course, i read the book several years ago. I may be confusing my asian monkey Mythology (there is a lot of those guys).
Of course, you have to take into account that Journey to the West is a giant religious buddhist text disguised as the most bitching piece of fighting ever so there's also that. The tricks correlate to specific stages and all that.

Leorio will deck you fool.
-
Hopefully some of the other princes are "good" people, and not all twisted like the first and fourth prince is.
So, according to ms translation, five of the 4th prince's bodyguards passed the hunter exam, and they made it past the lie detectors, including Kurapika because they had no ill intentions of betraying/attacking the hunter association, and instead views them as potential allies?

Check yourself before you Leorio'd yourself son.

As far as I understood it, they said what they had to in terms of the truth, and that let them pass by because the hunter association has some idea of the succession game the princes are playing

I already saw that page, not sure why are you showing it to me. Just because he managed to punch Ging with it that doesn't make it efficient in combat.

Leorio's ablity is useful to him as a doctor.
And he's awesome. This is irrelevant but he's still awesome.
-
His ability is "send a punch over a distance to hit someone"
What part of that doesn't sound like it's useful and potentially efficient in combat?

Especially in the series with the character that managed to make gums deadly.
-
My God if I could send a punch over a distance the sorts of things I would do with that ability.
-Pranks!
-Turn on the TV from across the room!
-Destroy clots and eliminate tumors from the inside without invasive procedures
-More Pranks! -

It's not only punching through distance but to emit nen remotelly. Punching is only the most basic function.

Way to be a buzz kill, Prismeru :I

I get by by punching my tv to turn it on, although roughly 90% of the time I miss and I break the screen instead

Sounds expensive and unnecessary….I like it.

There was a joke in there but it was too mean to Propaans so i deleted it. Now shush.

This is actually why Leorio needs the money from the hunter license, not the med school bills.

It's like the more punchy less visiony equally expensive version of Purple Hermit >_>…
-
Leorio is actually a medically oriented Joseph Joestar whose nen ability is a combination of Hermit Purple and hamon.
-
The more I reread the chapter, the more it seems like Saiyuu is a red herring. The only thing Kurapika can truly confirm is that Saiyuu was lying about his ability, which doesn't automatically make him the traitor.
There's also the possibility (which Kurapika alludes to, Chekhov's Gun anyone?) that the mole pulled a Death Note and temporarily wiped his/her own mind to avoid detection. Or that the mind-manipulation is being done by one of the people in Ging's party.
-
It´s not monkey.
Monkey as more shit to do than attend those boring meetings, so he hired Illumi to go there for him.
Illumi actually said what Monkey´s ability is, but considering he is not Monkey and the Question was "What is your ability?", it ended up being a lie.Everything leads down to Illumi, once again…

Lied about his ability!!? They haven't even asked him his ability yet. Rat is just checking for spies in a situation like this lying about your ability would be the last thing a spy would do especially when you might have to prove your allegiance
But to find a mole kurapika doesn't need to ask any questions all he needs is the dowsing chain -
wekurapika don't need no stinkin'badgesquestions -
It's pretty cool that the dowsing chain got some more explanation to it, considering that it was a fairly straightforward chain to begin with.
Now to see what the index finger does
-
where has that [index] finger been,
kylekurapika? -
Thinking about it, why do we have two princes with normal western names for the China-analog of the Hunter universe and then "Tserriednich" for the name of the fourth prince.
-
Could it be Alluka came from DC? Brought in by one of the Zoldyck.

Don't make fun of the king, the fifth one is named Khaleesi.

I re watch the latest episode and Illumi stated that they dont know where HE(Alluka) came from. http://imgur.com/91s065l

It's the most likely possibility, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Very high possibility :D
-
!
No mention of Ginjou yet? I am disappointed. -
You mean Tsukishima-sempai?
-
Pariston is everyone's best friend, isn't he?
-
I've known Pariston all my life. We fought together against Aizen.
-
Too bad Aizen was nuked.

Pariston is everyone's best friend, isn't he?
Actually, I recently thought about Pariston's Nen powers and noticed he is always number 2..or at least aims to be in that position. Ging is also directly contesting that postion. is that related to his Nen ability or is Pariston just everyone's favourite second-in-command that is ready to backstab you at anytime.
-
I don't know guys. Monkey had some pretty shifty eyes. :ninja:
No one else laughed at how stupid and guilty Monkey looked? I wouldn't be surprised if he was a decoy and the real traitor is still hiding amongst them but in know way do I believe Monkey is the main threat in that group.
-
@Purple:
His ability is "send a punch over a distance to hit someone"

Well I was half asleep when I wrote that, but regardless in my opinion his ability is inefficient in combat because it doesn't seem to boost Leorio's fighting skills in any way or form. If enemy gets close to him and engages him to real combat then I don't see how his ability would give any kind of help. Except if like I said he can use it on alive beings as well in order to lead his attacks through body to hit vital organs, which would allow him do to critical damage just by touching his opponent. That and maybe if he can put conditions for his attacks to set up traps. Either way judging from pictures his attack is slow, not powerful and doesn't boost any basic fighting skills in any way. The only effficeint way to use it seems to be running away from enemy and sending attacks from safe distance. Just my opinion.
