…When do you press start...? >_>
The first time you pick Luffy. You hit start, then it asks what costume to use.

Yeah, Ganbarion's website for the game has other secrets too.

Like, when playing as Aoikiji, when you hold A (or X) after doing the AAA or XXX combo (Gamecube version), all this cold air goes around Aoikiji, and if the opponent hits him, they take damage and get frozen. Of course, Aoikiji can't move during the move.
Also (Something I've never tried, but I'm going on context clues), if you jump on your opponents head while you're carrying more then one box, you'll make them dizzy.
Can't figure out the last one, but it might have something to do with jumping out of the water…
Did you know that you can make the Guard+Basic attack with Guard+Anit air attack into a combo?Just do the Guard+Basic first and turn and do the Guard+Anti air,You have to be quick,it can be used on some of the characters only(Arlong,Kuro etc)or you can use luffy's.After the Guard+Basic, when the enermy is in the air do the Guard+anit air,in the fight do this a couple of times and you will win.
Wow! o_O
I think it looks kind of weird… XD >_>
I agree, but it's probably because we are so use to seeing it done by Afro Luffy. hehe
Does anyone know exactly how to make Sanji turn into Mr. Prince and make Zoro put on his bandana? Is it random?
Are you playing Rush on a PS2 or Gamcube?
Use the directional up or down button if for the PS2.
{Not The Analog Stick}
One the gamecube, just hit the control panel thing instead of the joystick. I think PS2 version is the same. maybe?

I suppose it is pretty much the same. heh
Also to nguyen:
This also allows you to take off Luffy's hat, put on Zoro's Skypeia goggles, put on Usopps goggles, and to uncover Croc's poison hook, etc…..

Yeah, and the kanji doesn't show up for the countdown for Cannon… >_>
The control pad (taunt) also allows you to charge Kreig's R+A+X move. Instead of one grenade, he'll throw like 5. It gets very chaotic and fun very fast.
I'm using a gamecube. Also, Zoro has his skypiea goggles? I didn't know.
Yes, Costume B, IIRC.

Is the third one a tier list? >_>
Yeah, and the kanji doesn't show up for the countdown for Cannon… >_>
Well, the kanji wouldn't make sense there, since it's Usopp's whole little thing about the power of the afro… XD

It says something like "even though it may look like all characters have the same amount of power, this isn't true. The bar simply shows the percentage of power (is there a power bar? o_O Maybe it means health? I have no idea…), not the actual number. Characters all have varying amounts of power, like in an RPG." And then it has that chart. Don Kreig's says "TOP" (obviously, since it's in English... XD), Luffy and Smoker's row says "high" (and says "and others" after it, so there's others at their level), Foxy and Chopper's level says "low" (and again, says "and others" after it...), and Usopp and Kuro's level says "lowest" (yet again, afterwards it says "and others".) It then says that there are about 7 levels of power between the top and the lowest.

> Oh… So it's power, which kind of makes sense... XD I think it's attack... Don Krieg's attacks are really strong, but he's slow... so yeah. >>;
The cheap characters, like Aokiji and Enel should be top... XD
Oh, and I discovered something new, I think... In Enel's special where he turns into a Buddha-like thing, tap X (PS2) to continue the special... (electrocution)
Im thinking of getting this game, is it as good as I hear?
What games is it similar to?

Many have said Powerstone.. I haven't played that before, though. You ought to seek some video clips online :]
Does anyone know a way to turn off the background music?
I want to record the voice clips you can unlock, but I dont want the background music.
You can rip from from the… .iso file using... something...

best game i ever played.
(yes i have naruto gekito ninja taisen 4 and jump superstars)
How do you actually do damage with the impact dial? It's very pissing.
well which way? The normal way (which barely doesn any damage) is l+a+y. It has to be right like in their face to. You can't be at a distance.
The best way to do it tho is to charge the impact dial. l+a+a will have usopp pull out the impact dial then have your opponent hit you and the impact dial will absorb the hits. (Have to keep holding down a when he his hitting). Then after you feel like he got some good damage into the impact dial immediatley press y. It comes back all in his face. It is awesome. I love that move.
What buttons to you press for strawhat luffy to do afro luffys special on the gamecube. ;-;

Select Luffy with start. Then choose the normal costume with A.

Thanks for the advice. The price isnt over the top either, so I think Im gonna get it soon.
Btw, is there any translation guide, like there is for naruto gekito ninja taisen 4?
No… the guy that did the Naruto Translation guide has this game but says it's too bad to even give a translation guide for it... take that as you will. Still, it's easy to figure out as logos next to the menu options tell you what each do. The only problem might be in setting up matches, but if you've played a fighting game before that shouldn't be too bad.
Personally, I love the game as it's the first (and probably only) One Piece merchandise I have, but playing it with friends can be stupid since the Secret Attacks kill any competition. Still single player is fun, and it is no doubt the best Anime game to use it's license to the fullest (i.e. cameos in the backgrounds, full voice cast, etc.)
Okay, I'm probably going to be getting this soon, but I just wanted to check on something.
I know I need a Freeloader disc (I'm getting the combo on Play-Asia), but do I also need to get another Memory Card? I heard that foreign games will reformat the whole card, so I basically just need to get another one?
And if I do, can you have both cards in without it (the "American" game one) reformating?
Get a new one. You will erase EVERYTHING you saved on your other card if it isn't Japanese. And vice-versa, so you can't have both games on the same card.

I have both American saves and Japanese on mine.
I have both American saves and Japanese on mine.
Same. I had Tales of Legendia in English on it first, and then saved lots of Japanese files on it. They're all there.
I'm "sort of".. working on a translation guide for the game. I've been too busy with other stuff to put everything up on the site, though.
Same here. I have saves for Naruto Gektiou Ninja Taisen 4, which is the only JPN-game I have, and saves for alot of PAL-games on mine, havent lost any saves yet :P

Well, you can keep PAL and JAP saves together, but you can't with JAP and USA saves.

Does anyone know how?
E? How are there both on the same card, then?
Well, you CAN keep them together, but there is a chance that either the USA or the JAP saves are deleted.
I have this game and all of the memory on my Gamecube memory card is in tact. Wierd
I know there is a what do want in GB5 thread, but i am too lazy too bump that.
I kinda hope their is a third special move and improment of characters (like chopper)
The thrid special for sanji could be parage shot. Third for Zoro could be the attack he used on Tbone.
Also I kinda want the controls to stay the same. I love them
I wonder if the next one will be on Water 7, or maybe they'll wait for another arc and do that… >_>
Why do they make the characters all chibi-like. I don't really like it…..
I dont know why, but i love it XD. It is "teh awesomeness"
Hello. Sorry for bumping the topic, but I'm thinking of importing this game, and I have a few questions.
And for the moment thats all. Thanks.
I also apologize profusely for contributing to the bumping of this old topic, but I too have a question. Since Play-Asia does not have this in stock at the moment, I went looking for it. I found a place called Toys n' Joys online, and they have it in stock. Has anyone ever bought from them? They seem like a trustworthy site. Thank you for helping.
@MonkyDyLuffy:
- Are the menus friendly?
- The unlockable cards.. have the text in english?
Thanks for the answer.
What exactly does Robin's R+A+X move do, I can't seem to be able to activate it. Any help please? Thanks.
What are those buttons in terms of PS2? Surprisingly I've got Robin's attack [names] online, but the buttons associated to them are PS2.
I think it's Seis Fleurs "Fall", R1 + X + O. It's the defense/counter (or special attack as you have listed) move, Robin touches the ground and a pink circle appears on her head, but I can't work out what it does. I've tried having the comp attack me but I just get hit.
When the enemy approaches that area (you should see a pink petal), they get hit by a combo attack. I'm not sure how many you can put down, though…
Ah, I worked it out. It was because I was holding the buttons down so it wasn't working. Thanks for the help.
i'm trying to unlock "BMG select"
i finished hard mode with mihawk but can't find the option and i'm not even really sure what it is
what i want to do is to turn the music down to zero so i can play music from the anime whilst still hearing the fighters scream at each other, is there anyway to do this on either grand battle rush and/or grand battle 3?
Sorry to bump this old thread but I wanted to ask if anybody can tell me of a place where you can actually still get that game. Play-Asia has it out of stock and I don't know where else to look. I'd really like to get my hands on the game, so if somebody has some helpful info it would be greatly appreciated.
I got my copy through eBay, and I'm pretty sure that's your last bet…
