Probably teaching the citizens of Dressrosa about God Usopp.

Also, fifty chapters, and the only KO that sticks is Sugar. That's really slow, I just realised. At fifty chapters in Alabasta, Luffy was fighting Crocodile, and every noteworthy member of Baroque Works was already defeated.
At fifty chapters of Enies Lobby, every member of CP9 except Lucci was already beaten and the fight with Lucci was in it's last stages.
Every Arc since Enies Lobby to the current one was done in it's entirety in 50 chapters or less.
Even in Skypiea, the longest arc of them all, at fifty chapters everyone but Enel was done. Damn.
All these arcs had less characters involved and less plot lines. Dressrosa has a gazillon of different plot lines and characters that's why it's freaking slow and the focus keep jumping around. Also, after fifty chapters we have yet to see characters such as Kanjuro or the dwarves princess. This arc has the slowest pace ever.
Ideo might be too weak for badass like Gladius

Aye. It would have been a better arc, in my opinion, if there were less plot lines.
But if there were going to be everything, at least time could've been given to each and everyone.
You know… that does makes you wonder.
There is too many people here. How will Oda deal with all of this?
I have this terrible feeling that we may see very little pay-off to some of characters. Dressrosa has been annoying like that...

Alabasta, Skypiea and Enies Lobby were way more straightforward than Dressrosa, with less characters and plotlines.
Also, Water 7 and Enies Lobby should be considered one single arc, so that arc is still the longest one.

We know that when Oda inserts something in the story, it will end up important later.
Dropping plotlines is a pretty bad move for a planned story. He didn't put all those things there for the sake of it.
This arc still has a long way to go. We still have to see Corazon flashback, and Fujitoras real intentions. Possibly even some character development with Bellamy.
Also the structure of this arc has been fragmented. It was first about Laws plan, but then Luffy entered the tournament, and the dwarves got involved. After Sugar got defeated and Sabo won, though, Dressrosa has become a lot more cohesive overall. Almost all the characters are either working to attack Doffy and his guys, or go rescue the dwarves/destroy the factory.
We havent seen that many 1 on 1 fights, but the structure of this arc is different, and half the straw hats arent even here. I fully expect to see Zoro vs Pica and Franky vs Senor Round 2 in its entirety, though.

But at the very least, he could take his time with them.

Bellamy could be interesting, and so could Corazon flashback. I think we also might see Doflamingo's version of that.
Fujitora worries me. I keep thinking, and no good resolution come to his situation.

I wouldn't bet on, to be honest, with how fights have been presented thus far…
I wouldn't bet on, to be honest, with how fights have been presented thus far…
Because most fights so far didn't need a proper focus. We would probably still be at Green Bit in that case.
There was no need to dedicate an entire chapter to Franky vs. Diamante Army because Oda knew Franky would fight Senor Pink later anyway, so he might as well focus on the 2nd fight, as that one will be the decisive one.
This also goes to Doula Mongo. We know he's going to fight Luffy in the end, so there's no need to show everything he's got before that. Even more so with Fujitora, who's gonna fight Zoro for real at some point later in the manga. A similar thing happened with Caesar before, with him defeating several people offscreen, but later showing all the different kinds of stuff he could do with his ability against Luffy.
Trebòl, Diamante and Pica are pretty big examples of this too. Their initial fights were skipped exactly because they would end up fighting later anyway.
In contrast, B-Block and C-Block were presented nicely. Oda needed a way to show what all those gladiators could do because there will be no better opportunity later (most of those guys will probably get defeated soon). Cavendish and Chinjao are exceptions as the former has a super mode and the latter has his old head back (power up).
Bellamy could be interesting, and so could Corazon flashback. I think we also might see Doflamingo's version of that.
I'm so anxious for Bellamy. I liked him even on Jaya, even though he was an ass. While he did get the entirety of this new character development off screen, it's justifiable since there was a timeskip. I gotta say though I'm digging his new development. Now I want to see him follow through with that, there's literally no point in Oda reintroducing Bellamy as a changed man like this if he wasn't intending Bellamy to get payoff by the end of this arc. It doesn't contribute toward Doffy or the family's characters at all, we always knew Doffy was a dick to Bellamy.
After some more character development, maybe he'll fight Dellinger for some payback?
People have predicted Corazon is actually a D (Donquixote D Corazon?) which is why Law seems to be familiar/have some respect for D's in general.

Lol
I rot for Blue Gilly when time of his fight with Dellinger will come but I think after some arguments here that he might get used to build up bit more Doflamingos crew strength and end up getting badly beaten.
So I fear same thing might happen to Ideo as strong as he seems to be..
Many characters deserve a good fight. TOO MANY !
! Strawhats, Kinemon, Sabo, Burgess, Bastille, Fujitora, Bellamy, Koala, at least one dwarf, Rebecca, Barto, Cavendish, Kyros, all the member of the Donquixote family
Many in this list are not going to shine, let alone Ideo and Blue Gilly.
In the best case, they will have something like Franky Familly and Galley-la vs two giants and the judge. It wasn't epic but it's still something.
(Of course it's just my opinion)
if fuji will bring a meteor aroung DR.
i think sabo will make a move to stop that FQ@#$ blindman,.
Did you forget there is a iron cage surrounding Dressrosa?

Sabo gets defeated by Fugitora and taken prisoner by the end of the arc; RESCUE MISSION!! With Sabo sulking saying that he deserves to die and that nobody should save him.
Reading King cannon I realize how much I just can't take the family seriously aside from the executives. The way Franky handle Pica team back in punk hazard and was doing good against Diamante army really must have put a lasting impression. I just can't picture that stronger than the gladiators( A shame Don Chinjao lost his fighting style from the changing room).
Liked the cover page but Cavendish really should have put his sword down like the others. Cool too seehim in the Sofa anyway as he is my favorite character and love his style (aside for the Hakuba-mode).
Seeing all the gladiators climbing to get to Doflamingo sure was fun. I wonder how Cavendish is going to manage that with his horse.
Sabo looks cool in this last panel. But he seriously shouldn't be put against 2 VA and an admiral.
I am still waiting to see how Fujitora actions are going to make sense to me.

Fujitora will get captured, cause we all need to Wank at the Glorious Sabo and his overwhelming prowess.

And yet Jora gave trouble to 3 Straw Hats.
Franky only did well at PH because of the Shogun.
And he wasn't doing that good against the Diamante Army. We saw a missile attack and… that's it.
He blew up most of the fodder with 1 cannon, fought evenly with 2 of them and only got trashed after most of the officers came to help.

And yet, neither Dellinger or Machvise sustained any apparent injuries. Hell, Señor Pink looks fine even after being hit by a missile.
Where the hell has Jora ran off too.

I'm talking about the impression they left on me. And they seriously haven't show me anything to be impressed yet. Except the little girl for a brief instant.
I remember Franky still being in great shape against the fatty and the swimmer. And the the missile attack did seem to do some damage. Jora power are kinda a one-hit KO in my book. Kinda like getting touched by Sugar. if you don't know what's comming you're screwed.
Since Luffy kept calling Lucci "the pigeon guy" after witnessing his transformation into a leopard, I assume Fujitora will stay "the old gambler" regardless of his ability to summon meteors.
No wonder why he tracks him down.
First Post I think Franky holding back dofflamingo's executives on both accounts was a show of his and the Shoguns strength. It's proof that as the 4th strongest in the SH crew It takes more than 1 of mingo's guys to put him down.

Senor Pink just shrugged off the missile attack (with booze no less). Right now, he looks like nothing happened.
Meanwhile, Ideo and Sai were defeated by literally being swatted aside, Hajrudin was taken down by a single Gear 2nd punch, Abdullah & Jeet were taken down in a single hit by freaking Bellamy, Slayman and Orlumbus were taken down by a move that Rebecca was able to dodge. Most of those gladiators aren't that strong.

I agree that I honestly don't see Baby 5 or Buffalo being that strong. Also, they haven't shown me anything to be impressed yet, either, because the problem is weve never really seen any Doffy family member go all out on-screen. We know that Trebol and Diamante definitely haven't shown all their stuff, yet. We didn't see anything of Senor vs Franky the first time. He took a rocket from Franky, but as soon as Mach Vise/Dellinger and the Marines show up, the next thing we see is Franky on the ground, injured.
Gladius took a Jet Stamp from Luffy and got up like it was nothing. Lao G is shown to be pretty powerful, and we haven't seen Dellinger fight either, but he obviously beat Bellamy bloody so we can assume he's pretty strong. We'll see when they end up fighting, which looks like it's going to happen pretty soon.

For now. But Usopp is going to be the strongest in the series in the end. His goal is of much a higher caliber than a pirate king or greatest swordsman titles.

Well Naturally of course God Usopp is already more wanted than luffy in this arc.
But the way I see it if Zoro or Sanji were held back by any of the lower Executives people would wonder what they wasted their 2 years of training for. But because everyone underestimates Franky's growth they just claim that the Executives are too weak and ignore how powerful Franky really is.

yeah even as far back as he joined I always considered Franky the strongest outside the monster trio. He has a lot of weaponry and sheer physical power, too. Also, we haven't seen him really fight properly yet cause every single time so far it was in the Franky shogun, so I'm really excited to see what he can do on foot.

Well I have no faith in Arabs(?) dudes and the giant, anyway. But aside for them the Don family hasn't show me something that tells me Sai, Ideo or sexy leg is screwed doesn't have a chance against them. But that mostly comes from the Dons having an underwhelming presence at least to me while the gladiators had a littlescreentime..

Easy.
Main antagonist group > Side character group. The latter group, however, has a few dudes who are developed enough to do something more.
if a meteor will go to dressrosa the meteor debris will just crush them
return damage to fuji
Is luffy holding a string on the WSJ-Cover? I just recognised it lol
Senor pink got no chance against Franky he needed his M8 help last time to beat him. Fully expect the next chapter to have him defeated, with out so much as scratching franky.

Who the hell underestimating Franky? it quite the opposite loads of people have been saying what a beast he 's become sine the TS.
Donchinjao, Cavendish and Bartolomeo should be able to win or hold off their opponents, until Luffy finishes his business with Doflamingo. It would be nice if the lesser allies, like Ideo and Blue Gilly, gives Gladius and Dellinger a run for their money.
i noticed now that ideo and blue gilly perfectly match gladius and delinger fighting style.wondering whom the other allies will fight though because there are too many against dofla's crew

If there's too many then some of the donquixote family may take on more than one colliseum fighter? or the Donquixote family may only hold off only some of the fighters and the others manage to progress onwards? (Like Chinjao and Cavendish) I'm still wondering about Buffalo and Jora. They aren't KO'd and could possibly turn up to back up their crew for some more fights…hopefully.

As far as we know Buffalo is KOed, but Jora isnt. But who cares i want to see all of Dofla's members fight again because their devil fruits are awesome, personalities are fantastic, and while quirky seem to be very strong.
Matchups, theres probably going to be a huge mashup between the fighters and dofla's group until its a 5v5, with Cavendish and Don going up higher to help fight Dofla.
I'm feeling puzzled, i'm tired of skipping every posts that darth makes, but if I ignore him, there will be pretty much nothing left to read in the thread and I won't understand most of the arguments, that are all about the same topic over 35 pages….
Is there a solution to my problem?
Maybe when all the other fighters are engaged in one huge melee Djora will show up and use her power to turn the whole scene into Oda's tribute to Guernica.
Something I hadn't considered before; does the art art fruit determine the style of her visualizations or visa versa? Could someone else (or just Djola herself) show up with the fruit and turn the whole of One Piece into a photo-realistic world? Simpsons style? What if she went the full Jackson Pollock?
Btw there are too many match ups. Could somebody do a list or something to keep up the awareness?
Thank you

The only definite ones sofar are Franky vs. Senor Pink & Pica vs. Zoro.
I'm sure Luffy will fight Dofla but everything else so far is speculation.

I'm sure Luffy will fight Dofla but everything else so far is speculation.
I'd say Diamante Vs. Kyros is pretty much certain to happen as well.
I also find it intriguing that from the people staying at the plateau there are 3 people Trebol could be especially mad at, being Viola (who was part of his squad), Usopp (who made Sugar faint right before his eyes) & Robin (who tricked him away from Sugar). So I still see the possibilty for a Robin vs Trebol.
The hardest match-ups to predict are for the Donquixote members that are protecting the palace right now. We pretty much can assume that their opponents will be ones of the more prominent people on their way there, for which I would include Law, Rebecca, Bartolomeo, Leo & Kabu, the Chinjao family and Cavendish. Yeah, Ideo & Blue Gilly seem like perfect opponents for Gladius & Dellinger, but I would rather think that they could be used in a way to hype them up.
Dellinger would maybe have reason to fight with Bartolomeo after the stuff at the colosseum, but I wonder how well their powers would match in an actual fight.
Machvise and his weight powers could perhaps be the best match against the Happou Navy's Hasshoken.
Lao G so far seems to be a fighter that depends on speed, so maybe Rebecca will have to outspeed him there, with some help of the dwarves perhaps.
I could see Baby 5 facing Cavendish, seeing how he is kinda the opposite of her fiancées until now.
And the thing Gladius hates the most seems to be betrayal, so if Law gets rid of his handcuffs in time…otherwise Kabu could seek revenge, lol.
As you can see though, it's really hard to imagine match-ups with so many enemies and the majority of our protagonists out of the picture.
I really hope that all this gladiators be next nakama… of course, I hope too much.

That does look like a pretty sure starter, though there's no guarantee Kyros will be the one to finish the match.
Sabo vs. Fujitora looks like it's set to go off next chapter too, though it might just be a skirmish. Neither really have clear motivation for it.
