My first tought about the fusion was "So, Volcanion is the World Trio"
Pokémon ORAS and Spinoffs: We Go!
-
-
So I am one of the few who liked Ruby/Sapphire the least.
Maybe it's because of the region. Really didn't like the region in this one. The volcano fucking annoyed me. Also has my least favorite starters.
-
So Hoenn is finally confirmed. Cool.
-
So I'm the only one who spent about fifty hours on contests then? Darn…
I spent 50 hours on contests, made a bunch of strategies and optimized a contest team to win them all lol. >.<
It was unusual, because when I played it and finished it when I was younger… I thought Pokemon got old, or maybe even I got too old to be interested in Pokemon. Gonna recall my memories of this game here.
[hide]
-The world didn't seem to interest me.
-The global warming plot-line just seemed to sell on the whole idea that global warming was actually a hot topic in media at the time. So it felt really shallow.
-The rival didn't seem to motivate the journey. I remember his name VERY WELL!. Wally. Memorable because he was the most hilariously dull character I encountered in the world in gaming. It's sad any NPC trainer would have been a better fit.
-There was this one mountain full of Spinda, and I recall catching a bunch of them to see if there was any sort of point in collecting the different random patterns. Now I just have an intense hatred of Spinda. As a joke tho. Nothing serious.
-I think in that same mountain I grinded for ash/glass or someshit,. I was promised a flute that acted like like a Repel… Imagine my reaction when I learned I was still getting random encounters. It just felt like I wasted my time.
-The secret base thing didn't really do it for me like customizing a room in GS. It helped that I used Mystery Gift alot and had alot of cool stuff to play with back then, but the bases felt somewhat limited to me.
-Lots of water
-By the end of the game, I had the option to get monsters I actually wanted but there wasn't much left to do in the game with them :T
[/hide]BW changed my thoughts of the games. It was fresh, had a lovely art direction, gym leaders that felt like an integral part of the world they lived in, and the finale of the game was very satisfying to play through despite all the jokes I can throw at N as a character. So in the end I realized I didn't lose interest in Pokemon games because I grew old, or because the games got old. It's just easier for me to say that Ruby wasn't really a good game. My opinion tho. If you got good memories with the game, I ain't stoppin ya from having them.
I liked the water routes and the surfing/diving. :( And it was Gen5's BW that got me playing again too, because Gen4 was pretty boring beyond HG/SS. I got BW1 a few months before XY came out to see the cool new 3D effects, and that was a reason I got XY.
Oh and maybe I liked RS more because it was my first Pokemon game beyond Snap and Stadium, but I thought it was one of the most solid entries in the series so far behind maybe XY and HG/SS.

So I'm the only one who spent about fifty hours on contests then? Darn…
Don't worry you were not the only one.
I was able to complete these.
-
The volcano fucking annoyed me.
Tbh I loved hearing the music at Mt. Chimney. Hell, maybe it's because I've played through these versions the most, but the music always stood out for me. ESPECIALLY Lilycove City.
[hide]
so grand, so sad, so beautiful….
Maybe I'll just do a psudo-nuzlocke first time through.
Aah, the dreaded Nuzlocke. I started to do that on my lucky playthough, naming my team and all. …too bad I chickened out.
So I'm the only one who spent about fifty hours on contests then? Darn…
I must've been the worst player at those things. I tried to follow the move stars and effects and stuff, but would always come in last place. It frustrated the crap out of me, so I gave up. Maybe this time….
-
I never understand how the 4º generation contests worked.
-
Don't worry you were not the only one.
I was able to complete these.
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/iWy0gKoJjAM/0.jpgSame. I made sure to win every contest's highest rank
-
Maybe I'm blind, but it weirdly annoyed me that during contests, the other 3 would show their Pokemon…..crowd's cheering, hearts are appearing over their heads....then it gets to you, and the spectators just turn their heads and stuff. Like what's wrong with my Minun?
….sorry, me and contests just never got along. XD
-

You needed to use pokeblocks to raise the pokemon's contest stats. That's what they judge that round

I could never figure that whole system out. Like….weren't they also used in the Safari Zone?
-

I wish I didn't remember that, but yes. You used Pokeblocks in the Safari Zone. I think there was more mechanics behind it too, but I forgot. I think it was intended to organize enounter pools.
-
Nice, although Hoenn wasn't exactly my favorite, Ruby was a pretty memorable game and it's the one where I almost completed the pokedex, and would have if it wasn't for stupid Feebas taking forever to find.
I really do hope for hidden bases with streetpass.
Also, I am hyped for the possibility of Mega Sceptile. It better be Grass/Dragon. IT BETTER BE.
-
The Sinnoh Confirmed have begun already.
-
Mega Evolutions for Sceptile and Swampert are pretty much a given. Nothing would be more unfair than have Blaziken as the only Hoenn starter that can mega evolve.
The markings on Groudon and Kyogre don't look anything like that, but something else.
-

Aah yes, that sounds familiar now.
if it wasn't for stupid Feebas taking forever to find.
No doubt they'll still be hard to find (then again, having X/Y and Pokemon Bank sorta absolves the issue), but will the evolution go back to maxing out Feebas's beauty stat? Because after gen III, it was changed to what…..a prism stone?
-
I can't see any new Mega Evolutions being added until the next generation comes knocking because they weren't in the code for X/Y, which are still the mainline games that all the competitive stuff is based on for now. Not everyone is going to buy the remakes, and people who did couldn't import the new Megas over to X/Y because they're simply not in the game.
Unless they patch X and Y to include them, but I have no idea whether that's possible or not with the current technology.
These arent cartriges or DS cards anymore, they can handle updates and changes to the system, so yes they can patch them, they already have. They will most certainly be adding more megastones, which is going to be a new staple and selling point to these games. I also have a new feeling that there will be another, smaller region besides hoenn. Probably post game, and would line up with what that backpacker says in X and Y.
-
I hope they release a Megaevolution for Stoutland where he turns into a Corgi.
My Herdier in Black and white was named Mr. Fancy. Good times.
-
I hope they release a Megaevolution for Stoutland where he turns into a Corgi.
I laughed. This is a good fad.
Anyway, Sado, I'll take your word for it. If it's possible to add in new Mega Evolutions via patching the old games to support the new additions, GameFreak will absolutely do it.
-
I only played Ruby on an emulator, but I remember having a pretty good time with it (despite all the surfing/diving). Omega Ruby's definitely going on my to-buy list…
-
That plus the broken Exp. All would make it extremely easy to level.
Did you play the same Gen3 game as me? The reason Sapphire was the single mainline Pokemon game I have never beatten was because of the irritation of trying to level in the ocean to lvl55 when everything in the surrounding area was lvl30ish and granting pitiful xp.
This is the single thing I hope is fixed in this remake.
-
Like a lot of people, I remember losing interest in Pokemon after Ruby and Sapphire, and getting back into it when Diamond and Pearl came out. They're my least favorite games in the series, in terms of gameplay, the layout of Hoenn, and some really unattractive Pokemon designs. The music was my favorite thing about it, but the games themselves were good. If Game Freak gives the remakes the same treatment as they did to Heart Gold and Soul Silver, I'll be a happy guy. Besides, this is the first time we'll see an old region in the Pokemon world redone completely in 3D, so we can at least account for improved presentation. Plus, with a lot more memory, I have a good feeling these will be a lot better.
-

Tell me about it. Grinding for the E4 always took so long, even when you did it in Victory Road. I mean, it wasn't Diamond-and-Pearl levels of slow, but….
-
Hahaha, i loved Shofu's Reactions xD
-
Also response to a previous post. I'd totally be down for a Mega Slaking. With a Moxie Ability.
-
Mega Slaking, ability double Truant. NEVER MOVES. After 5 turns its heart stops.
-
Ability that makes him automatically Yawn after every attack.
-

Well, its pretty much guaranteed that these games will have experience share too so I'm sure that will be less of an issue.
-
Personaly, I think that Pokemonamie is better than contest and the other "cute aspects" of pokemon, maybe improving in the idea, adding a competitive aspect would sufice.
Let's see how far will they patch.

I guess you were trying to level a full team of 6 evenly? I had a couple HM slaves so didn't have that problem of gaining experience to raise a full party. Also, the recent games have gotten gigantic with a heap of trainers to battle, and if the Exp. All from X/Y is implemented again you will worrying about your team being OVERleveled instead
-
Correct. I always do that. I hate the concept of HM slaves.
-
SECRET BASE SECRET BASE SECRET BASE SECRET BASE SECRET BASE SECRET BASE.
UNDERWATER DIVING.
SOOTOPOLIS.
CONTESTS.
! SECRET BASE.
(Just remembered I had a box full o' Feebasses on my Ruby version, though. I'm afraid to even check if I still have my file.)
-
I checked mine a few weeks ago. The clock's battery was dead and that was it.
-
I was able to pass my two milotics to my Y like a month ago. At the moment it was such an achievement. Now the fuckin iv judge tells me they suck :(
-
anyone else think the images of groudon and kyogre on those covers look different from the normal groudon and kyogre?
-

It's fairly obvious and dramatic change. Beyond just the pattern's being changed in multiple ways, groudon's spikes and teeth aren't the same color either
-
Super stoked for this.
Can't wait to see their take on Hoenn with the new X/Y graphics.
-
a side by side and yeah ur right Aaron very different.
guessing either mega evos or Groudon Omega forme and Kyogre Alpha forme that or they were completely redesigned.
-
Yay! Oh, I'm so happy I'm a Pokemon fan now!
-
Oh hey the version I never bought because getting ROMs was popular at that time. That and I never owned a GBA. I wonder which version I'll officially buy.
-
Mega Slaking, ability double Truant. NEVER MOVES. After 5 turns its heart stops.
Mega Ludicolo dying of an overdose, Mega Slaking's heart stopping… being a Pokemon these days is tough I tell ya.
-
Mega evos for groudon and kyogre are the most likely option, given how distinct they look from the original. I can't imagine any remake of a pokemon design.
I'm not a super big fan of ruby and sapphire, largely due to it having my least favorite designs, but when i look back on it there's actually a lot of charm in it. Like other than the whole trumpet orchestra thing, it was the very last gen before the internet was becoming much more widespread. So there were a ton of secrets in it which actually went completely undetected, like the entire feebas/milotic deal and all the shiny things. It also had the most interactive map before everything got dumbed down in favor of battle scenes.
So yea…it's not my favorite but i'll definitely be getting it. Also we finally have an end to 'hoenn remake pls'. 'Diamond remake' as the next joke? -
My reaction when i saw it literally 3 mins ago:
I still dun even have X or Y yet, but now i gotta hurry the fk up and get that and then this too.
-

Those modern times i tell ya. Chaplin warned us. He did.

From Serebii:
Following its reveal yesterday, there has been some question as to the actual content of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, as to whether they're remakes or new versions due to the wording of the announcement. During the Investor Briefing today, Satoru Iwata confirmed that Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are full-remakes of the 2002 releases, Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire.

Okay, well this is gonna be awesome :D I really loved Hoenn as a region, even with all the water, so it would have been nice either way (remake or sequel) but glad to hear it's a remake. Gotta live that nostalgia man !

In addition, since this is a remake of an old version we're talking about, is pretty much a given, same as it happened with HearthGold and SoulSilver, that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will include all the content from the Emerald edition. I was already sold when the announcement came suddenly, but knowing this my hype for this remake is overflowing.
-

Battle Frontier….expanded Safari Zone.....Rayquaza appearing to quell the Kyogre-Groudon battle....
but wait, does that mean Wallace will be the champion, not Steven? Former is easier to beat.
-
The first time I beat Steven was a real nail-biter (one Pokemon left, 1 HP) so he better be the Champion. His team was better than Wallace's.

I had completely forgotten that ! BATTLE FRONTIER BABY :DD God I'm so hyped now !! November can't come any faster ^^
