One Piece Chapter 744 - Revolutionary Army Chief Advisor

Yes, Oda has a talent into making seemingly silly things into legitimate powers.
Springs, Laundry, Soap Bubbles, Wax, Balls, Paws, Straw, Stitches, Jackets, Flags…
Yup I agree, on paper those powers might fall under "What kind of lame power is heart ?" tv trope or Lethal Joke character on paper, but Oda makes them an example of Heart is an awesome power. I wonder if one of these days We're going to see someone with a hair powers similar to Bobobo. I mean if I remember correctly Baby 5 did look like Torpedo girl at one point.

Yeah, those two navy captains at EL (Berry Fruit and Wheel Fruit) also seem bad on paper! And, they're kinda bad off paper, too…
-
Is it bad that I actually think that a "Sandwich DF" would be actually plausible?
Like, an ability allows somebody to trap things between two "buns" or something like that. Like Big Pan of the Foxy Pirates.
Yeah, that's bad, but look at it in the bright side, you're the only one to ever consider such thing! lol

Yeah i think it only lasted for 3 weeks.

I wonder when we will know what is inside barto's suitcase…now he's not even in the colosseum anymore,so it doesn't seem possible that it will become important in this arc,but it still seem kinda obvious that inside there's something important
-
I wonder when we will know what is inside barto's suitcase…
An assortment of Luffy dolls. Made out of human hair, discarded toe nails and dry body fluids.
That's gonna be the big end of arc reveal.
-
I think the Sabo hype is too new for it to conclude Sabo is going to be a stale character design wise, but I really do hope we see his limitations this arc, and also hope we see some of Fujitora's strength, I really want to view him as an admiral and someone to be feared even more than he is now.
I think I've said the name Sabo a billion times in the past few days, I'm really glad I'm finally caught up with the manga, it's a shame it took me until now to give it the time it deserves.
I'm also throwing my vote out there for Mingo's fruit being a logia type.
Maybe blackbeard can give people other than himself a second devil fruit and Mingo bought a second from him? I know teach had a special body that might enable him to eat a second fruit, and it's very likely the yami yami fruit is the only reason why teach alone can have a second, but I can't help but think there's a possibility for someone other than just teach to eat a second devil fruit. I'm not sure how that would affect One Piece though, I would assume in a similar way as the smiles, a way to create a DF army, but people magically having two fruits would definitely take away from attention and detail to the single fruit, I don't think I like that idea at all, and for the sake of the series I'm guessing this isn't the case unless it has serious restrictions so there aren't too many out there that have a second DF.
-
We don't know that yet. Let me check the Dalton/Vivi/Reverie chapters.
Sure it will give an insight on what was done by Revolutionaries as Dragon set up a meeting of his Commanders at time when time skip was about to start so I expect they used chaos after Whitebeards war to gain more influence on the world. Dragon asked out people on island where Luffy was growing up. So I expect that he gives a choice to people that might want to join him, not forcing anyone same as he asked back then during great fire. Removing rotten head of the country sounds like revolution concept for most of history thats why I thrown it here yet of course it might go differently than I expect.
Imo Sabo was somewhere else than in Marineford so he could for example save some entire country from opression or something like that. It would give him a reason to be famous Revolutionary now while before time skip he was not mentioned or hinted at by anybody, now people recognize him easily. Also helping mass of people instead of Ace would somehow make it understandable that he was not at Marineford..
-
@Cyan:
Darth, we get it. You don't like the glorious marines to look bad or equal to the filthy pirates and revolutionaries.
Equal would be totaly fine.
And yes, I do not like supposedly competent characters looking ineffectual for the sake of protagonists. Like Smoker during PH. Or Burgess here. It is hardly limited to marines.
I just want to see an Admiral doing something what could be considered a good, moral action for a change. Something we have not seen since Aokiji helping that one guy cross the sea. What's so wrong about that one?

His toothbrush and a some clean clothes
in case he meets Luffy

His toothbrush and a some clean clothes
in case he meets Luffy
You should add diapers to list
It would be awesome if it would be some items that strawhats have used before time skip. Like trash-like stuff for example Zoros toothpick or bottle that he drunk from or stuff like I dunno part of chair where Luffy was sitting - some weird super fanboy stuff that Bartolomeo worships
-

Thats like, that's like your best comment ever, nah that's lame as fuck
-
@Archie:
it's very likely the yami yami fruit is the only reason why teach alone can have a second,
I kinda doubt that, Marco said he had an abnormal body, which I feel implies they knew about his body when he was in the Whitebeard Pirates (before the Yami fruit)
-
There is a trend of individuals with morals leaving marines lately.
Then there's a certain movement within them, opposing Shichibukai institution. We saw it now with Fujitora, but we also saw it in the story of Zephyr. It's not totally canon, but it shows Oda had an idea in mind for quite some time.
I wonder if marines will become divided towards the end of the story. There are some good people among them, people who could decide they are tired of working with pirates and tired of taking Tenryuubito crap their whole lives.

I have a question about a very minor detail.Does anyone know to what translates the sound effect when Kyros grapples with Buffalo? Is it for example a sound that resembles something that is caught, something that breaks (like SNAP),or something else?
-
Regarding Doflamingo's decapitated head talking:
Bubbs knows it too.
-
@Jewelery:

That's actually pretty interesting, it was Marco who said that, and they likely knew about it for a while, so it's not the specific devil fruit that's enabling having two fruits it's exclusively something about his body then? That has some pretty cool implications if that turns out to be true.
-

While I would say that many Marines are for absolute justice and whatnot, I do think there's at least a decent percentage of them with good morals. For example, Fujitora is more concerned with the safety of the civilians rather than the arrest of the criminals. I think it's also safe to assume that a majority the common Marine foot soldiers knows little to nothing of the injustice (e.g. slavery) and believes he is upholding the law of the world.

For sure, but then again it makes me 10000x more curious as to what it can be, and it's probably going to be a very unpredictable reason as to what makes him different. I guess that's why there's so many theories about Blackbeards flag (3 skulls and all that).

We still don't know for sure what fuji is up to. If he still wants to protect civilians it seems he doesn't want necessarily to do the right thing, he is still defending dd after all. I think he has some personal reasons we have to Know yet, like his story before Being selected at the coscription, how he got the fruit, how Was still under the radar even tho Being so powerful. I think his actions will surprise both pirates and Marines in the future. The whole Marines organisation still seems to be pretty messed up right now, the situation at the g5, the sakazuki-kuzan thing, even the coscription seems to me so desperate. Don't Know If they will split but probably we'll see a lot of coby, smoker, aokiji (even If hes a former one ) and others doin things displeasing akainu.

I always thought he has two hearts, but i can't really argument this, it's the thing i think most possible for the little we Know but it's all speculation and im curious as hell too

Correct me if I'm wrong - グキッ pronounced GUKI so I assume it is a snapping sound.
-

Burgess was never seen as strategist in any situation. He's a meathead who only knows how to brawl and he fell to Sabo's savvy, not to his strength. I wouldn't necessarily say he failed there. If anything, I'd say Diamante was the one who disappointed. He got beat at his own playing field and fell without doing anything noteworthy. He's been the least impressive of the three executive officers. Ironic, considering that he got the most hyped among them.
-

Buffalo is probably immune to it anyway thanks to his powers.

@Gol:

I honestly don't think Diamante came out looking too incompetent, here. He recognized 2 powerful opponents going at it, who seemed to be pretty evenly matched, and decided to let them fight it out while he taunted Rebecca. He was basically playing to the crowd and giving them a show. When Sabo first went after the Mera Mera, he attacked him - I'd guess his goal was to let everyone fight it out for as long as the fight holds the crowd's interest. He didn't realize that Sabo even knew about the underground, never mind expecting him to specifically destroy the ring and collapse it into the underground. I wouldn't say that makes him look particularly bad, as while he got outsmarted, it was pretty reasonable for him to be surprised by the strategy. And by the time he realized Sabo's plans, he wasn't in a position to do anything to stop him.

No 3 page spoiler next week ?

No, the official spoiler campaign is supposed to be over now. Please remember to keep all spoiler talk out of this thread.

Also, I think a lot of people forget that both Diamante and Burgess believed that Sabo was actually Luffy. Him actually eating the fruit was literally the farthest thing from their minds as something they would have dismissed as impossible.

If i remember correctly it was only 3 weeks so no we won't be getting any spoiler pictures next week.

I don't know if someone mentioned this before, but I have a theory based on Monsters one-shot.
I think a Dragon attacked wanokuni,Ryuma stopped the attack but he died because of that. This will explain why Kiniemon hates Dragons and Ryuma being a hero of Wano.
This Dragon is Kaido, who I think is a Dragon who ate Human Human fruit of some model, which explains Kin and momo's reaction to the name Kaido. -

We may be having too many dragons in too many places (dragons on punk hazard, a guy named Dragon, a hie hie no mi user with dragon-based attacks, an actual dragon yonkou, etc.); however, I like the spirit of what you're suggesting.
-

Are you assuming Kaido is immortal because I was under the impression that Monsters happened a while ago, though to be fair I can't recall an exact time being given
Kin and Momo could be shocked because Kaido is doing something oppressive to their country in the present
-
Kaido is the grandson of the dragon that Ryuma killed so he eats the human human fruit to get revenge with samurais n became a beast of some sort…a mutant! TMNT
5 days to go

That would be pretty cool. Too bad chopper already eat human fruit. Unless its some variaion…. or a giant/little person fruit? Imagine any of those xd

Myth zoan dragon?
Maybe that's why momo Was so relevant to dd. He stole the artificial fruit dd Was planning to use against kaido.

No, it's evident that Dofla wanted Momo before the kid even ate the fruit.
And it's questionable if Dofla even knows the kid has eaten a devil fruit. Maybe if he saw him morph when he was attacking Sunny.
-
Sabo at Lougetown?
-
Doubt it.
But then again, since Dragon was there and we don't know if that lightning was a fluke, nobody can say for sure.
We'll just have to wait and see if Sabo mentions watching Luffy in Loguetown.
-
I doubt that Oda already had in mind Sabo that time.
-
I doubt that Oda already had in mind Sabo that time.
Well, he certainly could've had Sabo in mind at that point. My guess is that he had the general idea of Luffy's whole backstory very early on.
-
I don't know, I felt he only came up with Sabo to fill the empty older brother spot that just came up.
-
I doubt that Oda already had in mind Sabo that time.
Why not? He kept Luffy's childhood in the dark from the start. Revolutionaries too.
-

I would expect at least a hint about a third brother.
-
I would expect at least a hint about a third brother.
Well, Luffy and (as far as we know) Ace both believed that Sabo was dead. There was really no need to talk about him when the two of them met in Alabasta. And by the time he saw Ace again, it was Marineford and we were given hints such as a third sake cup in the flashback.
-
Looks like you guys think Oda had every little detail thoroughly thought from since the beginning. I just can't buy that.

Yeah, probably because I do. :ninja:

Yeah, probably because I do. :ninja:
Well by that logic, Razh and I both believe that you think Oda just arbitrarily wrote all of One Piece, making everything up as he went along.
