That was really awkward.
Adventure Time!

That was really awkward.
-
I think if Adventure Time ever hits a low point and needs to be put out of its misery, it'll be a tumblr induced shipping coma that does it
-
when i think back to this scene
6:52 (boarded by RS probably)
and he just seems like a completely different character. i mean like.. i know people can take things for granted and he is immature but even jake kind of felt off in this episode. idk anything about finn has been kinda weak this whole season.
-
I thought the episode was fine. Just very awkward.
Finn himself is mostly different since he ages as show does. So I found his actions somewhat understandable in the beginning.
The awkwardness to me mostly comes from the misfortune chain of events, and it kinda unsettling that the episode treated them like they were all set in stone or unavoidable.Either way, the development here actually gives me theories on what is going to come from this. It's been already established that FP's family hates Finn, and there's her dad tempting her to go evil(that and along with her instinctive need to destroy things). That and along with other little hints I've picked up from outside sources makes me believe… uh. I'll keep that theory to myself, I guess. But I would say that the Fire Kingdom is going to be on the move sometime tho.
-
I thought the episode was fine, and even chuckled at a few points (mostly Gunter's appearances). Finn is a kid who's still growing up, so it's perfectly understandable for him to make mistakes and be petty, that's just how it works. Hopefully this doesn't escalate to the cliche of FP going back home and having her father nurture her seed of doubt into a full-blown (evil) forest, though. As long as this little incident is a bump in the road in her and Finn's relationship, and not a dead end, I'm fine with it…
Also, I'd like to hear your theory, Hiroy, so if you really don't want to post it, how about you PM it to me?
-
GUYS GUYS.
This. Is. Amazing.
-
omg make a cartoon hangover thread already!! :o
-
The Lemongrab stuff is keep getting more creepy in my opinion. But it was a good episode this week.
-
Finn was kinda there this episode, but I suppose he's taking a backseat in order to play a redemptive role for whatever huge thing that may happpen.
As for the content of the ep… I kinda knew Lemongrab would become an actual enemy sooner or later. -
I was really surprised White Lemongrab was still alive after the Grables episode…perhapse he'll live on to give Lemongrab indigestion and pop out with more lemony nuggets of wisdom later...I don't think we've seen the last of him.
-
That wallet is, as Finn would say, "Mathematical!"
Good episode, by the way, but I hope Finn and FP's spat doesn't get dragged on for too long…

Guess it didn't…although it seems to have different ramifications for the world...
Also, Cinnamon Bun as Flame Princess' right hand bun is hilarious~
-
Very true, Shuhan. I wasn't expecting that development, but I like it.
Flame Princess seems to have mellowed out enough that Bubblegum probably doesn't need to imprison/stalk her anymore, and Cinnamon Bun gets to hang out with someone who appreciates him and doesn't treat him like crap. Also, now he has a real dog! Good for you, CB…
-
This episode was pretty normal by… eh... AT's standards? It felt pretty direct, to the point and not vauge. Not sure how I feel about that, lol. I watch this show to feel uncomfortable and confused(in awe).
Nice to have an explanation for why Flame Princess was in that lamp. It's funny how it seems like it's the ultimate prison for a flame. Created by the one and only PB too.In terms of Cinnamon Bun, it's kinda hard to take his character lightly. I want to say there's more to him due to stuff his body is capable of, but his flighty personality makes me say otherwise.
-
I think this was more to put to rest the FinnXFP fanatics and just get that swept under the rug for whatever bigger story arc is gonna happen…like say whatever Maja is up to.
-
Hold on to our hams everyone, another Magic Man episode is upon us!
-
-
That was hilarious. But it seemed like such a weak prank for Magic Man. Nothing seems to top his over-the-top levels of jerkery like his debut episode.
-
It's like they are reading my mind since I've been talking to my lady friend about the costumed dinner episode recently…
-
WHOa What the heeeck.
That episode o_OThere was alot of backstory in this one, but several of them were so obtuse.
Sooooo. Fin is technically a reincarnation of Choco, or something.
And before that. He was a comet that is somehow connected to bubblegum?
My head hurts. -
I noticed in the previous Flame Princess episode that Bubblegum was her current age in the flashback. I guess they just up and decided to point that out in this one. If Finn is the reincarnation of the green girl, I guess that makes more sense that he saw her in the mansion.
Was that mansion the Bathboy's hideout?
-
If Bubblegum was a lady in the flashback, How did she become an teenager?
-
Also, yet another instance of missing/Robotic right arm motif/foreshadowing.
Bubblegum was a teenager cus she didn't have enough candy material to be fully restored. She's just been "Nineteen" for who knows how long.
-
I wonder what happened to PB's boyfriend, Mr. Creampuff. Also, it was cool to see Peppermint Butler before he got all shady…
"Pretend my finger's a knife."
-
I wonder what happened to PB's boyfriend, Mr. Creampuff.
He's been mentioned once or twice so he's probably still around somewhere.
-
He was mentioned in the first episode. PB was trying to revive him, I think.
As how how he died? Iunno. -
I see. My memory isn't the best, so I tend to forget minor details like that. It'd be nice to find out what happened to him sometime…
-
Another thing that interested me this episode was the creation of those incredibly overpowered guards that protect Candy Kingdom. I've always wondered about them since they really struck me as weapons of mass destruction more than anything. With that amulet back in PB's hands, who knows what might happen next. Events that can stir another war? Or preparations for the event of one?
-
Between Maja's secret plot, Flame Princess usurping Flame Kings throne, PB getting the amulet back…and let's not forget the Lich King is at large still...
Whatever this big event that is supposed to span a few episodes...I'm getting goosepimples
-
I don't think Maja is that important tbh. She seems more like a wacked-out dumb crone that lives alone.
One thing you did forget to add. The Lemongrab Kingdom. -
Ahh Lemonhope and the Lemon Kingdom, how did I forget them!
But back to Maja, I'm a little interested in what she's brewing. She flat out said she had something big planned when she was torturing her crobbit so it makes me wonder if she will serve some kind of purpose in the future.
-
Oh snap some shit went down in this episode. Seems like it's time to rescue Jake's dad.
Btw, I love me some Abracadanial.
-
That escalated quickly.
-

Wasn't he killed by the pit monster in his dungeon though?
! Kee Oth just thinks Jake is Joshua.
-
Sucks we have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode..
-
Wasn't he killed by the pit monster in his dungeon though?
! Kee Oth just thinks Jake is Joshua.
Yup my bad.
Also I just want to point out that Ice King has his crown back and he was supposed to have given it to Gunter to rebuild the ice kingdom…
-
Also I just want to point out that Ice King has his crown back and he was supposed to have given it to Gunter to rebuild the ice kingdom…
He said that the kingdom was done being rebuilt months ago, before he and Abracadaniel bailed at the end of the episode. I guess Finn and Jake were too busy or annoyed by him to notice that he was wearing it…
-
I really hope he and Abracadaniel stay best buds.
-
That was pretty great. Kee Oth's reactions and workout session was hilarious, and Finn not understanding Lady was great, too. Pretty solid all in all.
-
That was Marina Sirtis wasn't it? I swear Adventure Time is trying to re-cast the cast og Gargoyles isn't it? (We'll know for sure once Thom Adcox or Bill Faggerbakke pop up)
-
I'd call it a TNG reunion myself but fair enough.
-
Keith David as the former Flame King ^__-
-
That sucks, but from the sounds of it, there are still surprises in store for us.
-
Yeah. I was reading over this.

Apparently scrapping the tv movie was for the best.
-
Yeah, it really seems like there were way too many people with control over the story for the movie to ever work.
-
Would have been classic, though.
I would have watched it on those nights when I would otherwise watch Bill & Ted.
EDIT: I just caught up with this series, and I just have to say that I'm really impressed by Princess Bubblegum's development. I especially liked her in Wizards Only, Fools!
But I do eventually want to see her getting her comeuppance. She's basically all-powerful, so the only characters who could conceivably accomplish this are Marceline and possibly Flame Princess. And I guess the Lich, but he's an irredeemable villain, so it wouldn't mean much.
-
Ha! I loved tonight episode. It went somewhere I didn't expect and it turned out to be a happy ending. Awesome.
