It's not visible from the scans, but it looks like the details of Sabo's right eye are visible behind his glasses in the RAW (image). His left eye isn't though, and the scarring isn't only below his eye, it's above it as well. Seems pretty certain he's blind in that eye.
Chapter 736: " Executive Officer Diamante"

I can somehow see Franky making friends with Señor Pink in order to counter the marines. That guy is just too hard boiled to refuse.
Marines and Senor pink are on the same side lol
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm beginning to think it's very possible that Luffy will fight Doflamingo, but will not defeat him, for that will be the job of Admiral Fujitora. And Fujitora will take up the task to defeat Doflamingo and bring him down once Sugar has released all the toys from their current state and all of those with their lost memories will be restored. Fujitora will have to make a compromise, not go after Law and Luffy, but take down Doflamingo.
I just think there are too many enemies for the Strawhats still. Pica is probably quite strong to hold back Zoro, and it is possible Zoro is not capable of defeating him just yet. The Marines are still out there, mainly Bastille and Fujitora who are also willing to take down the Strawhats. Trebol in my opinion is powerful enough to take down Robin/Usopp and co… so someone else needs to step up to the plate to defeat him… It depends how good both Kinemon and Kanjuro are in a fight, provided he's well and freed.
So basically, I'm saying Luffy will fight Doflamingo, will struggle, but will not be defeated either. Rather, the fight will be interrupted when Fujitora intervenes to take down Doflamingo. Therefore, Luffy will have had battle experience against a strong foe, but will not experience defeat again. At the same time, Luffy is still not at the level to defeat someone of Doflamingo's caliber.
I really love this post. I couldn't agree more. I still want to see Doflamingo vs Fujitora. I hope 735 is a foreshadow of that.

Burgess will be defeated but not killed. Barto will lose to Diamante and then it will be sabo and rebecca vs dia. I could see sabo winning and then bringing the fruit back to dragon. if barto wins and gives it to luffy he will offer it to the SH's and then give it to rebecca
Nice foreshadowing. :)
One thing I must say his. I literally HATE people who find Diamante's fruit funny and seeing him as a JOKE because of that. Seriously? Power is power. Strength is strength.
Up until the point where Sanji was destroyed by Mingo I always thought the Monter Trio was all nearly equal in strength. With the diferences existing two or three digited numbers if we assume their power levels scaling in five digited. (what kind of an english is this) I remember sharing this 'observeration' of mine in the forums and got replies that I was biased towards the series this WHOLE time and the three was never portrayed as such. I didn't think that at first but that really might be the case and I don't like it. I prefer my biased version of One Piece -obvious. I have always seen Luffy's crew kind of alike to Shanks' with Mihawk being Zoro and Ben Beckmann Sanji -I know Mihawk is not a Akagami.
Since Doffy is a CoC user I really expect him to have a crew member as strong as himself. The most fitting for that role would be Vergo but he seems out of the picture for this arc if not until the last moments. This wish of mine exists because I don't want to see crews in New World solely relying on their captains. With seeing people saying Pica will be one-shotted I find it weird that people still have such expectations. I'm not saying Pica can't be a such weak character but it shouldn't be. Of course Pica being the general right hand man of the antagonist. Alabasta arc's fights was good for Zoro and Sanji but let's say… I really don't like to see a Kaku vs Zoro where Zoro just goes 'ok, i'm bored'. Fights should carry challenge in them like happened in Daz Bones or Bon Clay Sama or arc should carry challenges in them -like in this one where an Admiral and a Vice-Admiral is on loose.
I wouldn't give an opinion who is the strongest out of 3 E. Officers. The fact that Diamante is the fighter section's boss indicate his specialty is fighting. But it is possible that Pica or Trebol doesn't like fighting as much or dealing with fodders or doesn't like Colosseum. I'd prefer Pica to be a beast just because I'd like to have a justification for Franky not fighting him and I really am bored comments like Violet's. Considering Pica really is not a special case... Then why are you even going after Doflamingo for fucks sake?
AND... Until I see Sabo lose I can't let myself taking seriously those who think Burgess will win fair and square. Seriously...

Senor pink mentioned that more annoying people (something in that trend) showed up. Also, after Dofla vs Fuji I'm not so sure we should be calling them on the same side, even though Fuji would do nothing.

I'll try to argue with you on this one. Wouldn't it be dissapointing if Luffy will not defeat Doflamingo? All this arc was set up for him to kick his ass, and you think that he will not do it? I see kinda Crocodile vs Luffy situation, when Luffy lost 2 times but the 3 was a winner. And it's already time for Luffy to beat someone of this caliber, or otherwise the timeskip have been in vain. We still haven't seen what Luffy's fully capable of. We still haven't seen what Doflamingo is capable of. Same goes for Zoro vs Pica situation. Also this is One Piece, if Luffy says "I'll kick his ass" he will do it (not counting his encounter with Magellan), so I just don't understand why you think Luffy will not beat him.
Fujitora stated that he will take care of Doflamingo, but that doesn't mean there will be an all out Dofla vs Fuji fight. It simply may mean, that afte Doflamingo is sent flying Fujitora will say something like: "With the title given to me by Marine HQ I hereby strip you of your Shichibukai title" kind of what Tashigi did at the end of Alabasta.
P.S I think considering Zoro can't defeat Pica is pointless, until we see an actual Pica fight. -
Ehh I think it'd be way too convenient and easy for the strawhats (not to mention anticlimactic) if Fujitora just hangs around the entire arc before going "lolnope" and taking out Doffy. Where's the tension? No, I'm pretty sure Doflamingo is going to find a way to get rid of him.
Edit: agreed with the above post too

i really dont see how people here assume that Sabo or Rebecca will get the fruit let alone eat it.
Sabo eating the fruit would be a damn joke. The fruit has nothing to do with his bond with ace, since he never even met Ace while he had the mera mera no mi. Somebody wants a Sabo a.k.a Ace 2.0. That would be a fucking joke and Oda will never do that. Rebeccas only cause for waniting the fruit is to beat Flamingo and make him leave Dressrosa or kill him. Can we agree, that someone else will take down Flamingo hence she has no cause to eat the fruit. So why is Burgess there? Just to get his ass kicked? Never! Blackbeard asked Ace to join him several times if i recall correctly. So most likely Blackbeard wants the mera mera for something specific.
I think the mera mera will not be eaten by anyone this arc. It will fuel the feud between BB and Luffy until Coby somehow gets his hand on the mera mera making him logia so he can fulfill his dream of becoming admiral making Garp the happiest marine since Coby is like a grandson to him fullfilling his dream to have one of his grandsons be a great marine fighter with the extra that he inherits the will of Ace by doing so. I know its a little of topic but the last three pages had 10 or more mera mera comments so i would invite people to think about the broader story when saying shit like either Sabo or Rebecca will eat the fruit this arc. Both of which would be HORRIBLE choices making no sense what so ever.btw Who the fuck says, that the tournament will have a formal winner anyways? From where i am sitting it is much more plausible that Sugar will be knocked out before the tournament is finished. When this happens shit will hit the fan. Giving Burgess the chance to bring the fruit to his captain in the state of chaos we can expect once Sugar is done.

As for Sanji being catched quite fast by Doflamingos ability- we seen even Jozu fall for that and as we dont know how Luffy will/would deal with that string trap, same for Zoro(who having swords and Asura should be best match up to Doflamingo). Moster trio is still pretty close to each other in combat power. There are margins to it.
With Sanji knowing how Doflamingo ability works maybe he would try some moves that we didnt seen yet like some ranged attacks that by all logic he should have by now(if he does not have any then its true handicap compared to Zoro with his attacks and Luffy with his fruit). He would surely not win but fight would be longer in my opinion, there is probably a range limit to that capturing, web like ability so ranged moves might be an answer. Its too early to judge. If all I would actually praise Sanji for tanking slash from Doflamingo- "5 shaded strings" - to me it looked like they were covered in armanent haki as they were quite thick and clearly visible compared to what Doflamingo used against G5 marines for example.
Those strings cut through metal and concrete rather easily as it was shown during some glimpses of Law vs Doflamingo. Sanjis body was sturdy enough for Doflamingo to go for Overheat literally right of the bat.As for Burgess he can be shown as amazingly strong - in strength department but with his posture he can be tricked by faster character into falling into water.
Oda will make Burgess loose in my opinion but at same time he will use that occasion to hype him.As for Zoro vs Pica its quite possible as neither of them had any showing off in this arc, they were both kept mostly offscreen. Also with last 2 chapters of hilarious bad guys(Senor Pink with his contradictions and Lao G with his really old age shown in fresh way after quite a few people in OP saying themselves that they are affected by old age..) I do wonder what Oda has in store for rest of bad guys in this arc and I do hope that Pica will not have any funny quirk and stay as pure badass that he seems to be.

Without any way to tell clear winner, this would be kind of fresh to me by One Piece standards and it would fit nicely not making Luffy somebody as strong as an admiral but at same time he would be shown as someone who can match a really big gun out of New World that Doflamingo is. Those 2 having equal fight and then somebody else taking care of worn out Doflamingo would be best way to go FOR ME.

hmm i disagree with your opinion/prediction of - fujitora beating dofla. Fujitora's role is like how smoker's was back in alabasta albiet in a more manlier style, Luffy's going to beat dofla and the marines are gonna be there to make sure to take the credit for themselves. I can still remember back during alabasta going, its still too early for shichibukai, same way folks think how its still too early for "admirals", its been what 12 years now? Its time to bring the big guns out, we are even getting knowledge about the tenyrubuutos/the void century bit by bit. There still not just the shichibukais to go through, but the admirals, division captains/officers of the yonkuo's, the yonko themself, the marine god father (sengoku) and the geezers of the world government and who knows maybe some more strong tenyribuutos at the top marijois. World government is an organization in control of the civilized part of the world ofcourse, except the pirates everyone else under their thumbs. So i think its time to beat the shichibukai's at least.

Sanji is 3rd in strength. He does not have as much "firepower" as Zoro with his swords or Luffy with Rubber fruit- not big margin but clear. I see it that way.
He makes it up with his mind. This makes him as dangerous as Zoro or Luffy and in future he might be seen as biggest danger out of Strawhats(in eyes of marines) just as he said at end of Thriller Bark. Reason why Oda made him say that is that he has both- intelect and power. As funny as Luffy is and as badass as Zoro always was its Sanji that is most interesting to follow and human-like out of them. He had bad time after time skip with his nosebleeds, Vergo cracking his thinner leg bone and getting almost killed by Doflamingo - in same time he maneged to do almost everything he started, he didnt went out of it without scratch but he did his stuff to the end in a way. With all this its really funny to read people hating on him for some minor reasons. -

Looks like your a big Coby fan. You say it's a joke if sabo eats the fruit and will make him ACE 2.0. What about coby? It's the same thing, you would see ace when you look at him. There are enough fruits out there, coby doesn't need mera mera, he can even be like Garp, fruitless and still rival of pirate king.

Sure, even sanji's best attack was not good enough for that door, or he din't want to cook nami with his Hell Memories

It's a big part of their rivalry, which is a big part of both characters.
The only time power levels have been made quantifiable was with CP9.
In that saga they defeated characters that were almost exactly the same level of power, who were also portrayed as rivals.
When they returned to saboady, they destroyed the same pacifista, once again being made to seem equivalent etc.
It's pretty clear that the Monster trio is a triangle, with Luffy at the top, being supported by the other 2 equal members.

Classic example of fangirl hallucination man ! :ninja:Because it would be too hard for Oda to draw an eye, then cover it with glasses. No, that's way above human skill. And Oda rarely bothers with small details. Did you even look at the picture? What is that dark dot in the place where his eye is supposed to be?
Classic half-assed comment. Also, I'm a fanboy
-
I feel Sabo is going to recommend a strategy for he and Rebecca. Why? Cos he already gave her a heads up before they went on stage that she shouldn't worry.
And Bato will most likely succumb to Sabo's scheme. Why? Because his main aim was to get the Mera Mera Luffy. And he was there to witness Luffy/Lucy handing over getting the Mera Mera to Sabo. Meaning Bato's plan now really is most likely to ensure Sabo wins.
-

Only pacifista scene- Sanji broke its neck hitting vital spot and Zoro went at it with power and almost cut it in 2 pieces. Difference in characters and their firepower is evident. They both had tools to destroy pacifista in a second but did it differently as they have different set of abilities and character. Zoro went for cut it in half way when Sanji targeted strategic point. They are equal with what they can do in the end what are they capable of accomplishing, not with all pysical atributes. Its not that they are equal like S=Z. They are more complex than this but they have equal value for crew if you sum all up.

The rock Logia finally… Mingo really has gathered imba fruit users, wtf.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions. There will be people saying. "Oh no this is a logia because this", "this is a Paramecia because this".
It's 50/50 but hey, I'm,hoping for Logia because challenging.
I hope I don't see an all out argument about this especially because it's about to be released otherwise it's just going to be a big facepalm for me.

They do have different fighting styles, yes.
Their overall value as fighters ie overall strength is equal.

Fujitora stands between Luffy and Doflamingo. That's the epic crisis in all of this. If luffy trained with the pirate kings strongest crewmate for a year and a half (and all he did was train so he can fight the like of people that killed his brother) why would anyone think Luffy can't hold his own with admirals?
Luffy will defeat Doflamingo in this arc and he'll probably defeat Fujitora too. 2 years in the jungle training is unprecedented; 1 year and half training with Rayleigh is bigger than anything the world has seen. Ya'll naysayers are versed in rubbish speak. After surviving the biggest battle the world had seen in recent years, only an idiot will waste two years with one of the strongest persons while the likes of Law, Kid, Apoo are plundering and adventuring.
Why would Luffy come out of training if he can't hold his own against an Admiral? Why would the grandson of one of the strongest men who lost his beloved brother not be able to stand up to his foes. Why would Kuma, Mihawk, Hancook, The Revolutionary, Ivankov, Jimbei and others sacrifice so much?
The true crisis is Fujitora not Doflamingo. Oda has set it up this way because it's the only way to show Luffy's power. Any less would have been a walkover.

Luffy is not going to beat an admiral at this point.
His clear opponent is Doflamingo.
There's no room to argue over this.

At least we can tell now for sure, that Gladius isn't Sabo. The latter one would have never ever changed his hat, even if he had shredded it with his hair.

You think 2 years is a lot? The Admirals have been on the seas for over 2 decades.
-
Being on the sea is different from training solely. One has to wonder if Luffy would have mastered Haki without training for some period with a master like Rayleigh. What's the point arguing? We'll have to leave it Oda to resolve; he is God.
-

Well Kizaru has.
We have no idea how long Isshou or Green Bull have been on the sea.
-
Luffy beating an admiral at this stage is one of the worst, least thought out, things this forum has ever seen.
He's not punching in the code that takes him to the last level. His training was there to give him a chance to fight his way up.
-
The true crisis is Fujitora not Doflamingo. Oda has set it up this way because it's the only to show Luffy's power. Any less would have been a walkover.
With Kaidou and Big Mom out there i'm sure Luffy will have a chance to prove himself even without an admiral.

I don't understand why she was so bent on avoiding Pica while she leads the group to Doffy. She said meeting Pica means they won't get to Mingo and when Pica appeared, she said we are done for. I assume her utmost fear should be for Mingo.
Many Logias have almost insta-win abilities that require little effort to perform.
Aokiji's Ice Time, Monet's freezing hug, Caesar's Airless World…
Assuming he is a Logia, Pica could have the ability to remodel the entire palace or manipulate the floor to trap them underground. That line about not reaching Doula Mongo would be less about actual fighting and more about potential traps Pica could set up.
Really, people should have learned a long time ago that One Piece is filled with non-straightforward battles. It's not always "PUNCH PUNCH SMASH SLASH GRAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
-
Lol people are really crazy thinking Luffy can beat an Admiral now. I see the monster trio being able to survive an Admiral now but not beat them, unlike when they were fodder to Admirals 2yrs ago.
Admirals are end game guys, the monster rio should be standing in equal footing with the Admirals around the end of series(EoS) not after 2years of training.

Is Lao G meant to look like a Gatchaman?
-
Rayleigh, by his own words, only trained him in the basics of all the three forms.
He hasn't mastered anything yet, that is what he'll be doing as we go along in the story.
That and further improving his fighting abilities, like he's done with every arc.

@Uncle:

yeah they will. You see Luffy beating a yonko will mean his now a powerful pirate guy up there but that won't make him the strongest pirate or make other pirates seem threat-less to him; because we know they're other pirates as strong as yonko out there but they don't have enough strong crewmates and influence to be big like them.
So unlike the yonko the Admirals are WG/Marines strongest force, a person/pirate being able to take out an Admiral will mean the rest of the marines is no threat to he/she if they can beat an Admiral anytime. I think for this reason is why Oda has so far only shown the World strongest man being capable of beating an Admiral but he didn't beat one though and an Admiral being able to beat another Admiral only, Oda can't have random pirate or anyone beating an Admiral cuz we as the readers and one piece world civilians won't be expecting much from the marines if the sole-called-random-guy was wrecking a town etc.

yeah agree with everything but we can agree that Luffy already passed the basics of all the three form but not mastered them yet.
-
Oh yes he obviously grew quite a bit in those six months after Rayleigh stopped training him.

Even Luffy admitted he needed more training with his haki, when he couldn't stop Hodi's bite during their skirmish over Fishman Island!

then he will bend time and reality, and go to take the onepiece directly from gol d. roger's hands
-
Diamante could maybe use his power on himself to make him flap in the wind and dodge attacks, similar to Kami-e.

Indeed.
The NW will provide the same gradual kind of power increase that paradise did.

Why would Luffy come out of training if he can't hold his own against an Admiral? Why would the grandson of one of the strongest men who lost his beloved brother not be able to stand up to his foes. Why would Kuma, Mihawk, Hancook, The Revolutionary, Ivankov, Jimbei and others sacrifice so much?
The true crisis is Fujitora not Doflamingo. Oda has set it up this way because it's the only way to show Luffy's power. Any less would have been a walkover.

Luffy will beat Dofla and Zoro will fight the man with the sword, and i remember Zoro made a promise when he's defeated for the first time… will he break it?
-
Idk why people were thinking Zoro was going to take on Fuji. It's way too early for any of them to fight let alone beat an Admiral. If Luffy is fighting Dolfa how in te world would Zoro fight Fuji? Admiral>Shichibukai
As for Pica. His DF is a real curve-ball. It could honestly be a Logia or a Paramecia. The thing with it being a Logia is that it doesn't explain the massive size increase. Which has me leaning towards it being some type of proportional changing/environmental Paramecia.
