I keep reading a lot of posts rebutting the pacing argument with "Well, what do you want? A bazillion episodes of dragged out fighting?"
Because it's totally impossible to find a middle ground between the two.

Mako is too awesome. Best female character from all the anime I watch this season.
I found nothing wrong with the pacing of this show.

I love it when you revert to sarcasm when you no longer have anything new or relevant to say.
But we are in the said middle ground! O_O
A regular episode of Abenobash: Character enters a tournament thing and fights a guy for his not younger sister.
An Imaishi episode of Abenobash: Character rides a motorcycle away from giant truck then blasts up rocket elevator shaft to save his friend on the top floor while dressed an Indiana Jones even tho that said building was suddenly attacked by a tornado with sharks flying in them(this is way before Sharknado existed btw), so they gunned them down, fell off the skyscraper and into an airplane that eventually crashes. Forgot what else happened in the episode, but I didn't cover half of it. A Robocop with realistic nipples that transformed into a bike showed up too.
This is Hiroyuki Imaishi's frantic pacing. I mean, there are breather episodes and moments in Kill la Kill, but when it gets down to business, it's an office of well dressed businessmen holding on to thier hats on a light-speed roller-coaster in space. More importantly, it gets to the point.
More like it speeds past the point.
Aspiring film critic, folks.

You two look so cute together.
Someone post fanart or something.

Fanart we shall have.

I'm just bothered by the fact that they are getting really repetitive.
Whats the point of getting to the point quickly? There's a reason buildup exists…to make cool stuff satisfying when it happens. Thats not to say I hate the show, far from it. But there's no question it loses something from the pacing.
So…Nui IS the killer :ninja:

Hmmm.

More variety. LOL
Did I ever mention how much I dislike the opening song?
Did I ever mention how much I dislike the opening song?
Have to agree with you, it sounds like the typical generic jpop song. Hopefully the second one is more unique.
Is it January yet?
!
I really do love the OST for this series.
DON'T LOSE YOUR WAAAY

DON'T LOSE YOUR WAY
@track:
Mostly rap/speaking solo
Blumenkranz is the best song. <3
And the rap thing didn't ruin the first song for me surprisingly.
I didn't ruin it for me either. Like TtGL, the mix of different kinds of sounds was really refreshing. Especially that one that mixes rap with opera. It made the entire moment it played in very epic.
I'm looking forward to picking up the soundtrack. According to Trigger, it should be out in the US on Jan 7th, and they are takinf pre-orders now.
Also, side note: I think it's really cool that Trigger directly interacts with thier followers outside Japan. It's smart for a fresh new studio.
Is the awesome track that plays for Satsuki's mom on there?I have a terrible connection now so I can't really check myself.

It's there, Blumenkranz.

Is your avatar spazzing out? When the santa hat appears and disappears it isn't smooth like your Mako-hat from before.
I wouldnt mind the hip hop on "Before my body is dry" if it were better mixed into the song.
Blumenkranz is certainly the most powerful song of the pack, but there are many other good ones.
PD: Merchandising! That didnt take too long.

Based on that site, it looks like there is an argument that Kill La Kill has plagiarized the manga series, called Gakuen Noise.
I don't read/watch both of them, so I'm not sure how they are similar. So, here is the manga series, called Gakuen Noise, and see how much similar with Kill La Kill.

The art style is certainly similar in some aspects (some character designs, spiked school uniforms)
We all know who this guy resembles at first glance, no?

Then, how do you think about this plagiarize(?) incident? Is it non-sense (just coincidence) or there is possibly chance for actual copying?
I didn't watch Kill La Kill, so I'm not really sure the similarities between the two.
Hmm the article points out a LOT of similarities…
And looking at the manga itself, there are a LOT of similarities. It's probably just coincidence, but again, there are quite a lot.
Google translated some snippets lolol:
! > a mysterious transfer student comes to move in a boarding school in a "symbiosis school"… came to the school in order to explore the "truth of death"... a school that functions as a single city... white uniforms... they receive a number according to some form of currency, and the number influences performance, production, economy, luxury apartments to slum grade lives... a social hierarchy where students are placed in one level or another
spikes on uniforms, camera angles, a lady who looks like satsuki, a guy who looks like gamagoori, a boxing captain fighting the MC, a fight club, cartoonish westernized style at certain times
Jesus wow is that too many coincidences
Just call it an homage and call it a day.
Okay, Kill la Kill is hereby an homage to School Noise.
Really Trigger, wtf? You go indie to express yourself not to copypaste another guy's work.
Wow, those are some important coincidences. Obviously it would be unwise to call it a total rip-off without actually reading the series but the setting is really similar.
On the other hand, does the anime return this week or the next one?

And this is exactly why nothing will come of these allegations.
It's not really news that Imiashi's stuff is a decontstruction of a massive array of things that already exist, even obscure ones(look at all the things Gurren Legan took ideas from). So, I'm kinda finding it VERY difficult to care or respond to this unless I'm being VERY sarcastic. So. My question. Does anyone legitamately care, or is this just fodder thread content that would just sweep over once the episodes are out agian?

Yeah, a massive array of things that exist… in a single series.
Can't wait for this to make actual news.
I am sure Shitkaku will bring a report on it next time they feel the need to increase their ad revenue.
The settings are near identical, down to the socioeconomic status being determined by class rank, that's pretty damning guys
Here is the author of Gakuen Noise position regards on the plagiarism issue on Kill La Kill (it is written in Japanese):
That's not a rip-off. Think of how many anime copied the style and designs of Gundam, Dragonball, Urusei Yatsura, etc. (Think of the similarities between Western superheroes, for that matter!) Any anime that presents a compelling new setting or theme is bound to attract some imitation.
I can't find very much online about Gakuen Noise, only that it ran for 4 volumes, but from what people are describing here it isn't plagiarism. Trigger didn't steal dialogue or trace characters. They took a template (school battle, which is a sort of sub-genre), and put their own spin on it.
I just hope this doesn't scare Trigger into killing the series after the second season ends. I'd watch as much of this as they're willing to put out.
Did people also scream 'HURR DURR GETTER ROBO RIP-OFF" when Gurren Lagann was airing 7 years ago?
@Kaizou:
Here is the author of Gakuen Noise position regards on the plagiarism issue on Kill La Kill (it is written in Japanese):
Summary: he doesn't consider it plagiarism and thinks the plot is different. He also said he stopped watching after 3 episodes because he wasn't interested ROFL.
